Music Box Memories

Do things ever really change?

Or like the old saying,

Do they stay the same?

Each year just a new cog

In the same machine

It doesn't matter

How many springs

When the wheel turns

And time's melody sings

Echoing memories

Of seconds long past

And yet each new second

So much like the last

I can't believe it's been two years

My body remembers before my mind realizes

Time goes by so quickly sometimes it feels as if the day repeats

Endless nights of my mind on a loop

Praying for sleep, just a glimpse of you

When I dream I see you and I know

Hold tight, don't let go

Consciousness comes crashing down

Heavy with grief hanging over me

Tears shed in the dark, Alone in a car,

In the shower, in the rain

Anything to get relief

I miss you so much

Tears fall when I see you in the mirror

But also a sense of joy, as you live on in me

A Labyrinth of Passing Minutes

A life measured in minutes

Each minute a choice

Left right, right wrong

A path taken, forgotten

A forgotten path, retaken

Let it go, move on

Doomed to repeat

What you have forgotten

Spinning circles, cycles

An ever ticking clock

Turn, turning, turned

Lost in a labyrinth

For time stops for no man

October Rains

Leaves are changing

The wind blows colder

Days grow short

As the year grows older

Precious and painful

Memories

That's what October

Brings to me

Cause it was you... Always you

Telling stories

Creating dreams

Like a witch with her brew

You cast a spell

On all you knew

Now your gone

Your magic wanes

As the spell, it slowly fades

So now it's raining in October

The days of magic seem like they're over

I try my best to emulate

But you were never known for second rate

I want their memories as good as Mine

Is my magic enough,

Guess we'll see with time
