Men's phrase, "the worst thing she'll do is say no," proves in how much different worlds we live and how much they don't care about our comfort (no they're not blind, they just don't care).
Because it's the truth, isn't it? What else is there to do? Even me as a rabid man-hater and sapphic woman who has been Thai boxing for years, I wouldn't beat and maim them. Why would I do that? First of all, as a woman, a human being, unlike men, I don't see any point in violence.
Even so we rarely say no. Most often it's some stupid excuse like "Oh, I already have a boyfriend/husband". Because men never take "no" as an answer. The only thing that stops them is knowing that you, as a thing, already have another owner. Although that doesn't stop some men. There's a famous phrase: he won't know. Fucking idiots.
And it's kind of dangerous for women to say no. You don't know how these animals will react to rejection. A lot of women after this got stalkers who literally watch their every move. Sometimes refusal can be accompanied by beating, rape, threats and even death.
We live in different worlds. Where for others the worst outcome is "no", for others it's death.

To add some modern day relevance: former Prime Minister Scott Morrison (aka the guy responsible for the robodebt scheme which personally ruined my life & resulted in over 2000 people killing themselves, who secretly appointed himself top jobs, told the media to cover all the above up, took holidays in Hawaii when Australia was on fire, then holidays in Europe when his ass was being grilled by the Robodebt Royal Commission, who despite everything is still sitting pretty is a six figure government job, with his $200 000 PM retirement salary on top, his several multi-million dollar investment properties, & his regular luxurious overseas holidays, THAT guy) has recently released a book detailing his mental health problems from all the hate he received as PM that he apparently didn't deserve, but it's cool because he forgives us, & can I just say not only do I not give a singular fuck about Scott Morrison's mental health but I will do anything in my power to make it even worse, because the day he offs himself would be a glorious fucking day for me.
Anyway raise ur hands if you don't give af about men's mental health🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🤚🙌🤚🤚🤚🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👋🤚🙌👍🖐️✋🙌🙌🙌🖖🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🤟🙌🙌🙌🙌👐👐👐🤘✌️✌️🤞🤌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌✊🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🤲🤲🤲👐🤲🙌☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️🙌🖕

Suzanne Collins gripping my face with her hands: listen listen the first step to evil is dehumanisation, always, the second you start to see people as less than people no matter what they've done to you that's when you start heading down a path of selfish destruction and violence

I’m begging of you even if you disagree with Israel (rightly so), do not fall into the enemy of my enemy is my friend mentality. Do not forget the atrocities that the Islamic Republic has committed and is committing against its own people, including children. Do not forget Mahsa Amini and Nika Shahkarami and the millions killed by the Islamic Republic.
Sincerely, an Iranian.

[former] gay advocacy groups be like no we won't do anything to address rampant meth/drug addiction among men who have sex with men, we have to devote all our resources to pronoun policing and sterilizing & castrating gender-nonconforming proto-gay kids instead

Unpopular radfem opinion but I actually (used to) love the word queer, referring to myself as queer, saying "hey queers" to my all gay/bi friend circle as an edgy teen, and all that jazz. It really did feel like a rebellion, a big "fuck you" to straight people who would once have used the word as an insult but now found it powerless to wield against those of us who had chosen it for ourselves. Straight people used to be shocked by self-described queers, it was very clearly a reclamation and a sign of protest.
But then, slowly and insidiously, throughout the years, "queer" changed its meaning. It stopped being a "fuck you" to straight people, a word chosen precisely for its shocking nature and subversive origins. Straight people started using it again, en masse, to refer to us. And that was okay, that was acceptable, because the word had been sanitised, scrubbed clean of its dirty origins and hung out to dry by interlopers and so-called allies. Suddenly gay (boring, assimilationist, old school, privileged) was juxtaposed with queer (revolutionary, modern, subversive, marginalised) when before they had been synonymous. Suddenly straights could be queer and corporations could be queer-friendly and gay rights became queer rights. Suddenly, the term was meaningless.
Reclamation of slurs is an important part of our journeys as individuals to overcome the prejudices we face and the hatred we might internalise. But as soon as a slur is being used by those whom it did not originally target, it's not being reclaimed, it's being mainstreamed, turned back into a mockery. Now straight people call us queer and we have no recourse. Similarly to men calling women cunts and bitches and women being told to stop making a fuss because they aren't seen as proper slurs anymore ("it's a term of endearment in Australia hahaha"). The power of reclamation, "queer as in fuck you" etc, is gone. It's dust. We're not getting it back. At this point, all we can do is relinquish the word entirely. And I can't lie, that hurts a little, because when "queer" meant something, I loved being queer.
