here’s a reminder that  no one’s  interpretation of a canon character is better than someone else’s.  you can enjoy someone’s interpretation and writing more than others.  everyone has different tastes.  it doesn’t  (  and shouldn’t  )  imply that a portrayal is superior in any way.  it just means people have  different interpretations   of the same character.  writing the same canon character is not a competition.

I dont know if you ever answer it but, I always feel stuck when I want to write how one character show their anger. Can you maybe share some to us how? But with dialouge and the describing feelings instead? Hehe I'm sorry and thank you! I hope this makes sense?

How to write anger

Why is the character angry?

feeling betrayed

feeling frustrated

feeling left out

feeling hurt

feeling misunderstood

feeling annoyed

feeling jealous

feeling like no one listens to them

feeling rejected

feeling powerless

feeling embarrassed

being worried

How does the character show it?

There are two options:

silently, trying to suppress it and not show it

openly and direct

Both options can be shown with different dialogue and with describing their body language.

Body Language

1. Silently, trying to suppress it and not show it

clenching their fists

pressing their lips on each other

breathing loudly through their nose

eyes getting smaller

clenching their teeth

clenching their jaw

looking away to calm themselves

speaking with clenched teeth

whole body is tense

2. Openly and direct

screaming

throwing things around

stomping

moving around a lot, can't keeping still

open body language, like they are ready to attack

frown wrinkles on their forehead

prominent veins

grabbing someone they are angry with to get them to understand why they are angry

becoming violent

non-stop talking, ranting

shaking their head

throwing their arms in the air

eyes either going from one point to another while ranting or completely fixating on the person they are angry with

Dialogue

Depends on the situation and what they are angry about, but it's important to say, that especially in the more manic phase of loud and open anger, it oftentimes happens that the characters say things, they wouldn't normally say and that they even want to take back later when it registered what they said. So let them go a bit wild with the way they talk.

The Doctor passes Rawya the tools she needs. When she says please let this work, the Doctor smiles kindly at her. "There's only one way to find out. Test it out. Scan something." She's excited to see Rawya using a sonic. She feels so protective over the younger Time Lord. So to see her building her own sonic is something that makes the Doctor feel proud.

Rawya placed the goggles back over her eyes before getting to work. She had the Doctor help her by passing her some tools that she would need. The process wasn't going to be easy, but Rawya knew it was going to be worth it. She may be the bookworm of the family, she wanted to move that she can invent her own sonic screwdriver like any Time Lord would do.

It took an hour till Rawya put in the final touches. "Please, let this work." She whispered to herself, holding up her sonic screwdriver.

She can tell Kyleigh is surprised she's never met a vampire. Victoria supposes that her world is a bit small. It's mostly her family and her friends from college. And now Alex, and her pack. As far as she knows, all her college friends are human. So aside from her fellow wolves, she hasn't met many supernatural beings.

"I'm glad you've never had to fight one." Physically anyway. Verbal sparring is another matter. And that's alright with Tori. She sometimes wishes she could spar at least verbally with her father and Lucas. But she can't risk them finding out about her and Alex's revolution. So she'll play the dutiful daughter and sister for a bit longer.

She listens attentively to Kyleigh's words. When she mentions the vampires killing her parents, Victoria's eyes widen in surprise. "I'm so sorry," She says immediately. Not wanting to interrupt, but wanting to express her sympathy and empathy for Kyleigh. Once Kyleigh is finished speaking, Victoria says: "I think that's the best way to be, personally. Just treating people as individuals and returning whatever energy they give you." That's Victoria's philosophy on life, anyway. "It's a shame that that's the case. But like you said, there's hate everywhere. Sadly." Victoria wishes that wasn't the case. But all she can hope for is that things will change for the better. "I hope things will change, and get better," Tori adds.

She is glad to hear Kyleigh's perspective on the matter. Especially since she doesn't yet have any personal experience with vampires. Maybe one day she will. Alex has told her about a bar that tends to be frequented by supernatural beings. Maybe she'd meet a vampire there. She wouldn't want to meet one of the unpleasant ones. So hopefully she'd meet one that was chill. "I suppose that there's tension everywhere. Even amongst humans. Wherever there's differences, people make them a problem. Unfortunately." And Victoria thinks that's a shame. In her view, differences should be embraced and accepted, not shunned. As long as someone isn't causing harm to others or themself, they should be able to be whoever they are. And their differences should be accepted fully. After all, people can't just change who they are. So why not accept that differences between people exist and work towards a better world? One where differences are embraced and accepted.

While change could be a good thing, Kyleigh wasn't so sure how they could go about this without completely exposing what they were to the world. That werewolves were real but not all of them were out there trying to kill people. She knew that would be the first thing that anyone thought once they were proven to exist, and the last thing she wanted was for innocent ones to get killed simply because of what they were. Or have them all rounded up like cattle and placed somewhere that they could be watched all the time. It was definitely going to be a tricky thing to navigate, but perhaps Victoria and her friends already had that figured out or had a plan set in place for it. That was the part that was alluring to the half lycan, seeing how this all played out and what good it could do for their kind.

She was a bit surprised to hear that Victoria had never met a vampire. There seemed to be more of them than any other supernatural being but maybe it was just Kyleigh's own bad luck that she had run into a few in her day. Mostly nice, just trying to live their own lives without causing any problems. But then there were the other ones that had such high regards for themselves that it made it unbearable to be around them. The ones that Kyleigh wanted to drive a steak through faster than anything else she had ever wanted in her life.

"Yeah I've heard those stories too, but I've been lucky enough to never have to fight one. Sure I might have said some… unkind things to one or two, but it hasn't ever been more than that so far." Of course she said some ugly things to normal humans too, it just depended on the day and who it was. As for her own opinion? Well that's where things got interesting.

"I've always tried to keep it neutral when it comes to them. When I was young death dealers were sent to kill my family. They took my parents so you would think I would automatically hate them all. And sometimes I do, it just really depends on who it is. Some of the younger ones now don't even care. They just want to live their lives and do what they have to do. But some of the elders still hold onto those old world views on us. That we're below them and things like that. I guess there will always be hate in this world no matter the species you know? We just have to hope that one day things will begin to change, and we can all start to heal." Kyleigh hadn't meant to drag down the conversation or make a cause for pity. She liked Victoria and wanted to be honest with her, so the other wolf could understand her views on the world.
