I get that a lot of you love Egon Spengler, I do too, but I see a lot of you going onto posts that aren’t about him and trying to MAKE THEM about him in the comments or reblogs or something when the post is specifically about Ray or Winston and it is GENUINELY getting old.

Ray already gets overlooked and so does Winston (part of me thinks that stems from fatphobia and racism but that’s a different conversation) and there are already PLENTY of spaces to talk about Egon with the other Egon girlies. Don’t get me wrong, I love Egon! I do! But when I wanna praise Ray or Winston or any other character the way they deserve that is not your chance to overtake the space and make it about Egon!!

Maybe this is a silly niche complaint for me to have but I’ve had SO many of my posts about Ray hijacked and everyone seems to give Egon all the credit for everything and dumb Ray down to “oh sweet autistic baby uwu!!” when he’s just as competent and brilliant as Egon was, same with Winston being basically totally forgotten. So, all I'm saying is that Peter "we were meant to get thrown out of this dump" Venkman who definitely hated the university and academia as a whole, and totally could've gone into radio (DON'T EVEN ARGUE AGAINST ME FRASIER CRANE DID IT AND THOSE TWO ARE NOT THAT DIFFERENT) so why on god's great green earth did Peter go "back to academia" after the loss of Egon?? Because that's how they started after college you fools. It's a direct tie to his "best friend" (yall they had something going on be so fr) so yeah absolutely Peter moved on from Egon (/sarc).

One of my favorite things about Ghostbusters 2 is how in so many scenes Harold will be giving 120% to his acting. I love this specifically near the end of the movie when Vigo strikes them all with his powers and Peter, Ray and Winston are all like ooooh 😬 ouch! 🤕 and it flips over to Egon and hes screaming and spasming on the floor.

I've been doing a lot of Egon Spengler, but that doesn't mean I'm not well-versed in Harold Ramis' other onscreen works. Such as the case with Russell Ziskey from Stripes (1981), for example.

(or as I like to call it: Peter and Egon in the army before forming Ghostbusters 😅)
