Blight (2015)
Production stills from a prosthetics short film Blight. All prosthetic elements were made during a 6-week training course at Millenium FX/Neil Gorton Prosthetics Studio.
Boyan Baynov, Tom Phillips-Howard and I worked on the concept design of the fungus-infested woman’s head. We each sculpted a maquette and cherry picked the best elements, which led to the final design. Those who took the SFX makeup training course helped out on applying the makeup onto the actors on set as well. VFX breakdown of the shots I composited can be seen on my Feb 2016 showreel.

Take One Painting (2014)
Take One Painting is the very first module every MA Digital Effects students do at the National Film and Television School. The brief was to recreate a painting chosen by the heads of department in live action and to do a digital set extension to it.
Our painting was John Singer Sargent’s painting Hospital at Granada (1912). Production Design students recreated the set, Cinematography students lit and shot the live action footage, and each DFX student did their own set extension while learning Maya and Nuke in the following four months. DFX students (including me) acted out each character in the painting on top of taking all the necessary measurements, texture references, and lighting references (chrome ball, grey ball, Macbeth chart) for VFX usage.
Production: NFTS (MA Production Design 2014, MA Cinematography 2014, MA Digital Effects 2014)
VFX: individual (modeling, texturing, tracking, lighting, rendering, roto/cleanup, compositing, colour grading)
Softwares: PFTrack, Maya, Photoshop, NukeX

SSG Food Market - Media Facade
During my summer internship at Shinsegae in 2012, I had the pleasure of participating in the SSG Food market opening project. Shinsegae wanted to produce a video to screen on the media facade entrance. The brief was to showcase the products of each brand stores that will be opening in the SSG Food Market, but with a a non-commercial look.
Although named ‘food market,’ SSG Food Market is more like a multiplex plaza. The actual SSG Food Market, which is something like a premium version of Whole Foods, is on the underground floor. Restaurants, bakery, winery, and a select shop are on the ground floor and first floor. Located in Cheongdam-dong, a ward of Gangnam District in Seoul, South Korea, SSG Food Market aims to become a trendy location to epitomize the wealthy lifestyle of Koreans.
Role: Brand Strategy Team Intern (Assistant Video Art Director)
Client: Shinsegae Co. LTD
Production & post-production: Performance Documenta Production

Michal Krasnopolski: Classical movie posters - part3
The basic concept was to create a very modernist, minimalist poster series for movie enthusiasts. The idea is based on a very simple grid: a circle and two diagonals inscribed in a square. It surprised me how many posters I could create based on this very simple approach. There's an enormous strength in simplicity; the fewer elements, the more we engage our imagination.

The Mysterious Explorations of Jasper Morello
Nominated for an Oscar and for a BAFTA award, Jasper Morello is a short feature made in a unique style of silhouette animation developed by director Anthony Lucas and inspired by the work of authors Edgar Alan Poe and Jules Verne. In the frontier city of Carpathia, Jasper Morello discovers that his former adversary Doctor Claude Belgon has returned from the grave. When Claude reveals that he knows the location of the ancient city of Alto Mea where the secrets of life have been discovered, Jasper cannot resist the temptation to bring his own dead wife Amelia back. But they are captured by Armand Forgette, leader of the radical Horizontalist anti-technology movement, who is determined to reanimate his terrorist father Vasco. As lightning energises the arcane machineries of life in the floating castle of Alto Mea, Jasper must choose between having his beloved restored or seeing the government of Gothia destroyed. Set in a world of iron dirigibles and steam powered computers, this gothic horror mystery tells the story of Jasper Morello, a disgraced aerial navigator who flees his Plague-ridden home on a desperate voyage to redeem himself. Also winner of the Grand Prix award at the Annecy Animation Festival, Jasper has also won the top honours at the Canadian Film Centre's Worldwide Short Film Festival, Best Animation at Flickerfest 2005, Best Animation at the Sydney Film Festival Dendy awards and Best Animation at Toronto worldwide shorts.

¡Viva Calaca! 2. Pink Elephants on Parade (Official) - Ritxi Ostariz
¡Viva Calaca! is an animation project created by the art director and designer Ritxi Ostáriz, and based on the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration. Ritxi Ostáriz from Bilbao (Spain), is specialized in graphic and editorial design as well as art direction for events and festivals. He is also known for his animation videos, with a large list of projects made for tv channels and producers. First chapter of ¡Viva Calaca! was released in 2008, and it shows a party of dancing calacas (skeletons) celebrated at a Mexican traditional village. The soundtrack of the video was edited from the song Day of the Dead by the American singer and composer Voltaire. Second chapter was released in 2010, and it shows what happened after that party. One of the calacas gets drunk and starts having some strange visions. This piece is a tribute to the scene Pink Elephants on Parade, from the Disney film Dumbo. The soundtrack is performed by the Seattle based band Circus Contraption. ¡Viva Calaca! is a non-commercial project, and it was created just for joy. Have a nice time by watching it! Check more of Ritxi Ostáriz’s work at: - http://www.ritxiostariz.com - http://www.vivacalaca.com
An After Effects animation (I believe?) that shows an influence of the Pink Elephants on parade scene in the Disney Animated film Dumbo as well as the Disney Short A Silly Symphony - The Skeleton Dance (1929). The soundtrack is very engaging, and the director has found a a way of delivering a ‘dark’ theme in a very charming way.
