do y'all ever remember the absolutely horrifying reality that due to women having basically no autonomy in a lot of the world, many lesbians are trapped in the closet their entire lives, pushed into marriages with men, and live their entire lives in constant torture & agony with basically no way of escape. and we literally just do not know. we do not know how many of us are facing that reality, we don’t even know the specifics of theyre reality, if theyre the majority of lesbians or WHAT bc they literally have no ability to come out at any capacity & share their stories..

people can look at the statistics about how many women and girls have experienced sexual violence, how many of us experienced it before we were eighteen or before we even hit puberty, but it's like almost nobody is willing to even approach the reality that like. it's not just one man or a hundred men going around preying on all of these women and girls. so, if the majority of women have experienced sexual violence at some point in our lives. well.

Listen I’m sorry but if you actually care about female liberation, about raising female class consciousness, about actually making a difference for real living women right now: you are going to have to learn to empathize with women you disagree with.

It is shocking to me the way radblr will pass around a video of a conservative man praising him for ~owning the transgenders~ and then make post after post about how libfems are not worth talking to because they’re so irredeemably stupid and annoying. I hate to break it to you, but you’ve actually got way more in common with the most annoying tif you can imagine than any man. Other women-even ones who don’t completely align with you on every possible topic-are capable of being insightful, clever and compassionate, and can always grow as people.

Like what’s the plan? What’s your endgame if you refuse to talk to the Unenlightened Women? Female separatism but only for your five ideologically purest radfem mutuals, until one of them discourses about babies on planes? You have to be willing to put the work in to seriously connect with other women if you actually care about feminism.

(Obviously I’m not saying women shouldn’t be criticized or you can’t disagree with other women or that women aren’t allowed to vent or whatever else you might be tempted to project onto this post so you can get angry about it.
