Not a spark but a flame she was..... Not a flash of blindness but a bright light...... Seen and picked out in a field of darkness. Cupped my hands over it for protection from the blistering cold. Seeking only for it's best and warmth. I got too close for too long and felt the flame irritating my skin. I endured the pain. Thought not once to remove my barrier off her. Finally, I noticed that I was not protecting but suffocating her. She needed to be free. She needed her oxygen. Oxygen was her protector and I was just there to interfere.
