Remember to find your joy! Today I worked a lot, but also found a sweet balance by biking trails with my love and walking with my sweet boy and his eyes of wonder alight. ✨🙏❤️🙏✨ I usually put Zen straight to bed when he’s at that point, but decided to savor the time and snuggled and giggled with him for awhile before. Every moment of presence I give him, I see him learn and grow. It’s such a precious thing to witness! He’s 16 months this week! It’s been such a beautiful visit. My mama(Zen’s Yaya), bonded more deeply with our boy than ever. They formulated all kinds of little routines and games together. He just lights up when he sees her. ✨My mama would take him in the mornings, which made a world of difference for me to rest and get work done. Grand Tetons mirrored on a perfectly still lake, was the stunning capture my Papa had up on the wall when he passed. It felt destined, like a beacon, my Hubby and son (and bonus Yaya flew in) would be with me on such a special trip to see them for ourselves! The smoke did come, but grateful for the crisp blues we got days before along with downhill mountain biking firsts. In the dust we trust. This un #BurningMan 2020, showed us a few things. We are Burning Man! The artists, engineers, free-thinkers, volunteers etc. are truly what make it! Also, experiencing the land where the ghost dance happened and the Black Rock stands, is so potent without us adding anything. The energy is spectacularly clear and powerful in that desert. We discovered the hot springs! The sunsets and sunrises are extraordinary! Without the expensive tickets and privileged plug and play camps, it dissolved into magic that is us and the dust! Trying something new. So they transform the ski slopes into mountain biking trails for summer. I was surrounded by experienced riders and tiny shredders and had never done a downhill run in my life! Confession: I literally had NO interest in visiting this mine. However, it was a dream of my hubby’s, and though I was annoyed and frustrated driving literally 25+ miles on a harsh desert dirt road in a 40’ rig with our 1 year old boy (😤). When we arrived, I got it. I got the magic of learning something new, of discovering sparkly treasure, the hunt! It was waaay out of my comfort zone, and yet, I’m grateful to have witnessed that desert rock hound culture and strange beauty. The sunstones are truly stunning, ranging in color from clear gold, peach, to red and green.
