Zig Novak as a boyfriend head canons:
based on my other list of headcanons about him, he has a pet bunny named Misha. Big ol’ heart eyes watching as you play with her
He loves it when you wear his clothes, especially his leather jacket
Actually prefers cooking food for you than going out to eat. He loves making meals for you
In my other head canon, I mentioned his mom is good at making soups. When you are sick I imagine him actually being the best boyfriend when it comes to his. Ever. He makes homemade chicken noodle soup / tea for you and is willing to skip school just to comfort you
Gets overly jealous seeing you converse with another guys, even if its for a school project. It’s invigorating and disheartening, the boy doesn't know how to process the faintest idea of losing you to someone else most likely better than him
An insecure little goofball
Needs a constant reminder that he’s good enough for you, always feels as if you are too good for him
He’s the big spoon :)
Will beat someone’s ass if they try to fuck with you, extremely protective of you, you mean the absolute world to him and if anyone ruins his world–

More Zig Novak headcanons pt. 2
“Novak” means newcomer or stranger, it refers to a new arrival in the city. It’s actually a given name and derives from the Slavic surname Novaković. I headcanon that his parents immigrated from Serbia to Canada for a better life and changed their surname from Novaković to Novak.
Mrs. Novak (who still carried Novaković at the time) was pregnant with Zig when they moved to Canada. They specifically wanted to move to Canada because his dad was a part of the Serbian mafia. He was in pretty deep to the point their lives were at jeopardy if he were to leave the gang. When they found out that she was pregnant they were desperate for a solution, so to escape the gang, they grabbed their hands on the cheapest bus pass they could afford, and moved to Toronto by train.
She was very distraught when they had to move considering she had to leave her father and brother behind, but it was anything to keep their baby safe.
This is canon, but I thought this was interesting. Zigmund means “victorious protector,” the writers were quite intuitive with his name, much better than Carter Cash. We see on numerous occasions Zig being very protective of his friends.
He was raised Eastern Orthodox. His mom is religious and they practice their Serbian traditions during holidays.
His grandfather back in Serbia that was very innovative and creative. He owned a store where they exclusively sold homemade Christmas ornaments. Before Zig was born he made him a homemade ornament. The boy carries his grandfather’s ornament with him everywhere
Because of his roots and growing up in poverty, Zig is a sentimentalist. When Maya wrote him “Yes” he listened to it for days, especially after their break up :(

Boy Meets World is his favorite tv show, and Shawn’s character influenced his transformation in some ways. At the Matlin residence, he'd wake up and watch Boy Meets World while getting ready for school.
He was really close to his dad when he was younger. Since he was the eldest son, om “Badnji Dan” (Christmas Eve Morning) one of their traditions consisted of going to the forest and chopping down an oak tree to retrieve an oak branch “badnjak”, a ritual of Yule custom
As he got older he wasn't as close to his dad as he was with his mom
Zig absolutely hates onions and hates everything with onions on it. He hated cooking onions at the restaurant because his eyes were constantly stinging, but eventually got used to it.
Can totally see him being that dweeb who wore goggles when he chopped onions for the first time 🤣🤣
When he and Damon went to that diner as kids, he’d peel all the onions off his burger until he was old enough to realize he could just order cheeseburger without the onions.
In Next Class, I headcanon he’d cook meals for homeless civilians and residents of the group home he lived at because of what he went through. (Really wish we could of gotten to see stuff like this, ugh. So robbed.)
i headcanon when he had his transformation before sophomore year began (new hair, the cut off leaves), he really became a spitting image of his dad which scared his parents immensely. Gang dealing runs in their blood.
His mom did not want to kick him out, but she wanted to protect the family. The reason they left Serbia was to escape gang life. She was slightly traumatized after his’s fathers life in the gang, and was afraid to be in that situation again because they would have no where else to go, their store is all they have for bread and butter, literally. (Especially with Zak’s life in jeopardy)
Grace was the first person to find out Zig was homeless, and did all she could in her willpower to help him. That’s why they are so close, and very protective of him. They met at the ravine during a party, she noticed his duffel bag and teary eyes. Even though it wasn't much, she told him about the abandoned house in her neighborhood and all about squatting.
He constantly relayed to her about his crush on Maya, and his heartbreak when he saw her with Miles for the first time.
She helped him overcome his grievance of Cam’s death. I really stan this friendship.
Zig got interested in gang life when he started noticing Damon’s new threads... As well as a new phone. His clothes were way too nice to be thrifted or lost and found finds.
Tiny and Zig weren't on good terms at first, but when he realized Novak was really struggling and learned of his homeless life he was more willing to help him. Eventually got to be best friends turned brothers.
Zig was fun to write for, especially since he was a character without much of a background. Like / reblog for Zig as a boyfriend headcanons.

Some Zig Novak Headcanons
Back in Season 12, when Zig used to live with his mom, he had a dark gray holland lop with a white patch of fur underneath it’s nose. They named it Misha.
When his parents can afford it, his mom is actually a pretty good cook
During winter time, she makes good soups.
She is good friends with the owner of a farmer’s market down the street, he is aware that the Novak’s struggle to get by and gives them fresh vegetables and fruits for free
Borscht is actually one of his favorite foods she used to make when she had enough ingredients to make it.
How he got Misha: one of his junior high friends had to move away before freshman year and owned / bred a crap ton of rabbits. He gave Zig one of the bunnies for free; his mom orders rabbit food for the store and they store-use it to feed Misha.
He is a massive fan of alternative bands. All Time Low, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, & Fall Out Boy are his faves
Him and Maya would sing out loud to Panic! At the Disco during Whisperhug rehearsals.
Adam and Zig became really good friends during Whisper hug.
He was devastated when he found out Adam died, but considering he was toggling with his own emotional turmoil after Cam’s death he couldn’t of attended the memorial service the Degrassi community held for him. It was all too fresh.
His little brother, Zakhar (Zak for short) is the complete opposite of him and is on the spectrum. He’s super freaking intelligent, is a little scientist, and is obsessed with anything space.
Before he got kicked out him and his brother were two peas in a pod :’)
Even though his brother was nowhere as good at it, he took him out skateboarding
While staying at the Matlins when he first started cooking he almost burnt the house down
Mama Mat was pissed but understanding about it because Zig finally found something he was good at
Also binge watched Hell’s Kitchen and Food Network while residing with the Matlin’s
Tried baking but just can’t get into it like he can with cooking
His boss Chef Kaz became a second mom to him
He's actually really good at art, loves sketching portraits of landscapes
Prefers black and white though :)
Towards the end of season 12, sometime before Karma Police I think that's when Zig joined the gang, but was obviously discreet about it because he literally just joined it. this is just my personal head canon following context clues. I noticed Zig and Damon sporting new threads (Damon has a nicer jacket, and different pair of jeans other than his uniform khakis in Karma Police P.T. 1 & 2) Also if you pay attention in Zombie Pt. 1 when he shows up to the Torres party, he has a phone. But merely a few episodes ago he referred to himself as, “the idiot who can’t afford a phone.”
Damon joined Tiny’s gang first, then Zig. But Damon moved out to a different neighborhood and got caught up with the enemy gang. I headcanon that their leader got arrested so Damon took over forming his own gang.
Zig got his phone through Tiny’s gang, specifically Vince. It just makes the most sense to me.
Tiny was blunt and told him to get a haircut and cut all the sleeves off his shirts, the emo bangs didn’t make him intimidating enough
Post Next Class: Him and his family are finally talking again, he visits them on holidays or whenever he is in the Toronto area
He attended a culinary school in California thanks to Maya’s encouragement
She’s proud of her little successful chef :)

Backstory:
Rose grew up in Naples, Italy with her younger brother, Matteo “Matt” and elder sister Gabriela “Gabi”when Rose was merely fifteen years old, she lost her mother due to breast cancer. Their father, Lorenzo Del Rossi, a traveling business consultant, isn’t consistent in their children’s lives. So, after their mother’s passing, he sends Rose and her siblings to live with her aunt and uncle in Toronto, Canada. Her cousin is Marco Del Rossi, who’s become an English professor at University of Toronto.
She later attends Degrassi community school.
Rosalina helps out part time at her aunt’s floral shop in town, Louisa’s, a couple businesses down from Novak’s Convenience Store.
It’s her third week of work (and summer vacation), she encounters a lonely boy clad in black and leather during a thunderstorm. Straddled at his side is a dark green duffel bag. He smells like he hasn’t showered in a while, and from the looks of it his weight is damn near a pile of bones. Rose, remembering her lunch, ( leftover dinner from the previous night), heats up her lunch and gives it to the boy outside. Initially a little eerie around her, he accepts her generosity and gratefully eats the food.
The next day she sees him again in the same spot.
It’s blazing outside, he is sweating off a storm. Pitying him yet again, Rose gives him a cold bottle of water. Seeing this girl yet again, they formally introduce each other. She learns that his name is Zig Novak and that his parents own the convenience store by the floral shop. He is quick to discover her family owns the florist shop. She asks about the duffel bag, but for the sake of his own safety (as well as hers), he refuses to answer any more of her questions.
Another day later, Rose looks for him at the post, but is disheartened when she doesn’t find him there. With her little brother at NASA Camp, Gabi preparing for college, and her aunt and uncle away on a mini vacation, she was thrilled to have found someone to talk to. She decides to leave a note along with some food again there in hopes of him coming back.
Meanwhile, one of her first clients by the name of Hollingsworth, meticulously puts in an order for blue and white bouquets for a Mayoral Campaign Party. Through her aunt, she learns that the Hollingsworth practically reigns of royalty due to Miles Hollingsworth II’s success in politics and business. A part of Rose’s job consists of her having to deliver floral arrangements on her bicycle. She delivers the bouquets and is entranced by the Hollingsworth mansion– it’s nothing like she’s ever seen before. While delivering the bouquets, she meets Miles Hollingsworth the III: the eldest, rebellious son of the mayor. Since Diana Hollingsworth is sponsoring Aunt Louisa’s floral shop, Miles shows Rose around the mansion. She also encounters Winston Chu, Miles’ best compadre.
While hanging out at the Hollingsworth palace, Rose humiliates herself by dropping a bottle of whiskey off a balcony, disrupting Miles’ father’s campaign speech. The little confrontation is enough to agitate him, as a result he goes off on his son. Angered by his father’s lament towards him, Miles rebels and cannonballs into the pool. Rose, ashamed of herself for causing unnecessary chaos for a family she’s barely met, retrieves a towel from the pool house for Miles. Their last encounter, Rose goes home, discovering her note and food for Zig has vanished.
For the rest of the summer, she supplies Zig with food, but still has yet to see him. It isn’t until she starts her first year at Degrassi, she crosses paths with him again as well as Miles. Throughout the course of the school year, she attracts new friends and even an arch rival, Zoe Rivas, the ex star off the hit series West Drive. Due to an incensed argument between the two girls, Rose is unfairly sent to the remedial class, coined as the “rubber room”, where she finally encounters the Novak boy again. Only this time, he’s hostile and blunt in their interactions together.
While spending some time with Miles, a relationship blossoms between the two, cultivating Zoe’s animosity towards Rose. Eventually, while caravanning upon her own self discovery, she finds out Zig is homeless. Albeit, the two don’t have as much of a history, she finds herself immensely caring for the leather clad Novak and offers him a place to stay. (With her aunt and uncle’s consent, of course.)
Living at the Del Rossi residence garners a whole lot of problems for Rose, specifically being hung up between two boys. Raveled in a love triangle, Rose is forced to choose between Miles and Zig, but a fateful decision could hurt the other.
Other random facts about your OC:
This is actually canon in the Degrassi verse, Louisa was actually a piano teacher. She taught Rose how to play the piano.
She loved reading The Outsiders, and sees every bit of Dallas Winston in Zig Novak, that’s why he’s her favorite greaser.
On her mother’s side, her aunt owned a farm in Naples who owned a bunch of Tolfetanos (Italian horse breed). As a little girl she’d visit them and loved drawing them.
Fun fact: Rosalina actually means gentle horse.
She enjoys painting the most when it comes to art.
She was closest to her mom and it breaks her heart every day she can no longer spend time with her.
She finds Tristan Milligan annoying. Self centered little shit.
Her aesthetics are floral print dresses and the color yellow.
Her favorite thing to bake is Ricotta cookies.
Absolutely loves Zig’s cooking.
She is extremely close to Marco, he’s practically adopted his cousins as his younger siblings. When he got married to Jeremiah (another OC) she was so happy for him. A match made in heaven.
The reason why sunflowers are her favorite flowers are because it reminds her of her mom who had grown an entire sunflower garden in her backyard. She also grew roses hence the name Rose.
Her dad doesn’t want anything to do with her and to an extent it hurts her soul but has gotten used to it.
Her ship name with Zig is the cutest thing ever. Rosemund ❤️

Bully Music Head canon series #2
Tom is an over thinker and enjoys listening to songs that can make him think.
He loves a lot of 80s punk music, his playlist consists of The Dead Kennedy’s, Misfits, & The Cramps. A lot of the themes from those songs are horror themed, following his favorite genre.
He's also a big Pink Floyd fan and The Wall is one of his favorite movies. He feels as if “Another Brick in the Wall” (Pt 2) is life at Bullworth Academy, with how strict some of the teachers are and prefects.
