Haven’t watched the finale. Haven’t even watched this season yet. But I guess I’m just reflecting on all that’s happened in these past years and this silly show has been a big part of coping bc it’s silly and gay in mostly a xena way but sometimes an out way. It’s honestly kind of hard to believe: a year of hospitalizations before getting a diagnosis, lost a friend to suicide, lost a friend to homicide, lost my dog, got out of an abusive living situation, got a new dog, lost contact with tons of friends when I went to the psych ward, made the psychiatrist there cry with my life story, finally finished my thesis, somehow didn’t go crazy during a pandemic, got invaded by feds and fascists, lost my grandfather, lost my childhood best friend, and coping with the existential threat of ecological collapse. And I made it. Largely thanks to my superhero shows and making silly crafts and my dog. So I guess this is a thank you. And a little thank you for it being open ended from what I’ve seen. Like yeah it’s no korrasami but it’s better than Kara getting married and we all know they’re gay and it made us happy during a fucked time. Like I don’t admit it to many people but I was low key feeling my supergirl/legends of tomorrow vibes during the uprising and I think it was a bigger part of being able to deal with being under attack than I’ll ever say outside of tumblr. So I guess that’s also my thank you. Thinking about gay ships helped cope with a pandemic, tear gas, ieds going off, friends in the hospital, fascists shooting at us, cops following us around for giving homeless people water, three extreme weather events with mass casualties, and the crazy making that is liberals pretending everything’s okay now. So rant over. Thanks supergirl and Lena Luthor and Melissa and Katie for bringing me some joy in some dark years. I’ll miss you even if I haven’t said goodbye yet

Kyrsten Sinema, the first openly bisexual Senator in U.S. history, has been sworn into office. By anti-queer Mike Pence. While placing her hand on a law book instead of a bible.
That, my friends is sweet, beautiful karma.

Hey so I'm not on here enough to see if people are going to be spreading the same ideas here about last night in portland so I just wanted to make things clear. Robert Evans and Tuck Woodstock are journalists who have been in the protests in Portland since the beginning and they were at the Portland Police Association building when it was set on fire last night. As far as they are concerned (with the level of information they had in the early hours of the morning it was set, of course), the fire was fully intentional and an action taken by local activists, NOT a fire set by the union/police bureau/the feds to escalate their violence. This reply said it best. If you are just tuning into Portland, these two are names to know, and they will certainly let you know the others in the coming days.

Greetings from occupied Portland.
I realize it might be good for someone in this shit show to explain what’s going on and what we need
For over 50 days there have been daily and nightly actions in what we prefer to call an uprising. One of those days and nights there was what the media would term rioting with looting and breaking windows. The majority of the rest of them have been cop riots. You’re probably hearing about Portland because Trump sent DHS acting secretary Chad Wolf (who looks, sounds, and acts exactly like a dude named chad wolf would) and his new PACT force to quell the “violence”. This violence is from the Portland Police Bureau (PPB), Multnomah County Sheriff(MSCO), and various other city, county, state, and federal forces(border patrol, random sheriff offices, apparently dea was there last month). For the past two months this has been steadily escalating to where we are now. In no way is the democratic mayor who rallies against Trump and the new federal forces an ally. He is the police commissioner. He lets them commit war crimes on a regular basis throughout the city. He’s the reason none of us keeping up with the uprising were really that surprised that the feds started nabbing people as a terror tactic and dropped them off with no charges. That’s fucked up right? You might be hearing from people who are living their day to day lives normally. This is true. There is still an occupation it’s just localized. They gas protests downtown where it’s mostly houseless people and in a historically black neighborhood but they don’t gas the marches through the rich neighborhoods. At night it regularly looks and sounds like war without live rounds. Gas in the air that lingers until morning. Flash bangs. “Less lethal” ammunition like bean bags, rubber bullets, and pepper balls shot liberally. Last night they attacked a bunch of moms who formed a barricade between the cops and the mostly zoomer and millennial crowd. A lot of the moms were wearing helmets because they known cops and feds like to shoot less lethal at peoples heads even though they’re specifically trained not to. At least one was pregnant and tear gas is known to cause spontaneous menstuation and miscarriages. Right now someone going out to a protest in Portland is advised to carry this as personal protective equipment: a regular mask for covid (and protecting id), a respirator and goggles for tear gas and smoke grenades, a helmet to protect from having your skull shattered by cops, water for hydration and flushing, thick clothes and/or padding for getting hit and thrown around by cops, a change of clothes so the chemical weapons don’t harm you due to prolonged exposure and so cops/feds won’t follow you and snatch you. People are buying umbrellas (no one in Portland uses an umbrella in the rain as a point of north west pride) to deflect rubber bullets. People are making shields out of skateboards, sleds, plastic container lids, trash can lids, and whatever they can find to protect the crowd from vicious attack. This is what it takes to protest here. National news is here but I’m really suspicious of the narratives they’re running with. They’re either ignoring important details or sharing outright lies. CNN sent a former FBI agent to cover federal agents brutalizing protesters. He won’t tell you protesters throw opened water bottles with less force than I’ve seen at concerts and then gassed in retaliation. Im attaching a list of the journalists who have been on the ground covering this for nearly two months on very little pay and sleep. Send them money. Also some twitters for groups providing aid to protesters and how to send them funds.

If a trans woman dresses/presents very feminine, she gets accused of “parodying femininity”. If she doesn’t, it’s touted as “evidence she’s a man”. If she expresses sexuality in any capacity it’s demonized, pathologized, and used against her. If she doesn’t look “how a woman should”, she’s ridiculed.
How in the FUCK are there still cis women who are too evil and braindead to see the similarities between these and our own experiences. We are criticized for being too feminine, for not being feminine enough, for expressing sexuality, for not looking how “a woman should”. How can you claim to stand for women while doing ALL THE SAME SHIT you are supposedly fighting against.
How can you as a cis woman recognize how violent men are towards us and imagine they are any less violent towards trans women? Are you fucking out of your mind? Men are openly violent to *OTHER MEN* just for being “too feminine”, and you think trans WOMEN are somehow exempt from this? While we as cis women have to deal with abuse from men and from other cis women w internalized misogyny, trans women have to deal with all that AND you fucking evil traitorous losers. And as with all two axes of oppression when combined, the effects of these are not just added but multiplied.
If your response to men holding us under a magnifying glass is to then hold trans women under a microscope? I can say with COMPLETE confidence that if you were a cis dude, you’d be EXACTLY the type of violent, abusive piece of shit you claim to hate. At the end of the day, you’re not critical of cis men’s power and privilege, you’re envious of it. As evidenced by the fact that you spend EXPONENTIALLY more time harassing women (both trans and cis) than you do actually discussing what men do wrong. Fuck y’all.
