Chapter 29:
Three Eyed Pai tells Pai to change back or they'll both be killed but Pai refuses. Feioo bumps her into a wall and Three Eyed Pai reiterates her point. Instead, Pai grabs a fire extinguisher, ignoring Three Eyed Pai saying she can't win and hurls it at Feioo, driving it off. Bleeding, Pai tells Three Eyed Pai that she doesn't know who she is or what she wants but her body is her own and she can't do whatever she wants with it. Three Eyed Pai demands to know why she was awoken then, accusing Pai of waking her up to use her powers then sealing her up when she's done with her. Pai said she had no idea she even existed but Three Eyed Pai doesn't want to hear it, saying she can just go on enjoying life as a normal human without caring about their lost memories like who they, what happened to the others like them, where did they go? Pai feels like she's losing it but Three Eyed Pai says they need to find the other triclops, saying she needs to verify an image in her head. Pai asks her to elaborate but Feioo returns and Three Eyed Pai says it's no good; they're about to be eaten.
Pai throws herself down the dust chute, refusing to become "monster shit" as she grabs the bag on the way down. Three Eyed Pai screams about how she doesn't want to be left alone...and Pai flashes back to a huge temple where outside, there's a small crying child...who looks like her. Then a tall triclops appears before her, picks her up and hugs her. She wonders who the other person is...then she moves to a scene where a demonic being is being trapped in light. Turns out she's participating in trapping him and he threatens to return and wipe out everybody when he comes back.
Then Pai wakes up with Yakumo calling her name...and she's about to be eaten by Feioo.

Chapter 28:
IT'S THE FUCKING COPS!
Pai tells the UFO to let her down but it won't listen to her. A cop in the helicopter takes aim with a rifle and shoots her in the arm. Another cop in the helicopter chews out the first one, telling him he can't fire unless he's given permission. The first cop apologizes, saying he saw the monster and got scared.
Pai falls into despair, wondering why this is happening to her...then Three-Eyed Pai wakes up, glaring at the helicopter. She orders her UFO, Feioo, to knock them out of the sky but Pai's mind doesn't want to let her do that. Three-Eyed Pai shouts back that if one is attacked, they should hit back (Fair) and Feioo knocks the helicopter's tail off. Pai argues back that self-defense isn't an excuse to go wild and that Three-Eyed Pai started things by causing a ruckus. Three-Eyed Pai reveals she gave orders to Feioo to kill and eat anyone with bad intentions for her so even without her orders, he'll devour everything in sight. Then Feioo rams the underside of the helicopter and bumps Three-Eyed Pai off, causing her to fall...until Yakumo pops out of the Feioo's mouth to grab her arm, saving her.
Pai wakes back up and Yakumo says it's time to go. She agrees and he throws her on top of a foil thing on the roof. He tells her not to worry about him and to find the Shiva's Claw. She watches as he's chewed up by Feioo, causing her to cry and apologize to him for not taking things seriously. She declares that she'll seal up Three-Eyed Pai...then the Feioo tries to ram her.
Apparently, the Feioo recognizes Pai as a separate entity than Three-Eyed Pai...and Three-Eyed Pai gave the Feioo the explicit order that to kill anyone who had bad intentions towards her...so Pai runs inside what turns out to be the school, going to the room where Three-Eyed Pai threw away the Shiva's Claw. But the trash can is empty...so Pai figures that the garbage must have been taken out. She goes to the furnace and finds the dust chute, finally finding the bag stuck between the third and fourth floors. But Feioo finds her...and Three-Eyed Pai speaks up in her head, saying Feioo only listens to her and that if she doesn't want to be killed, she needs to give up control to her. Pai says she's fine with that as she heads upstairs, saying she's cool with dying as long as Three-Eyed Pai is sealed, otherwise she can't face Yakumo. Three-Eyed Pai tries to tell her she's serious but so is Pai: if she dies, Three-Eyed Pai dies with her. Three-Eyed Pai begs her to stop as she sees her reaching for the bag, asking why she hates her and saying she doesn't want to die. Pai doesn't give a shit and keeps reaching for the bag...but Feioo bursts through the walls to eat her.

Chapter 27:
It's a stand-off between Yakumo and Pai.
He asks her why she's running wild like this and what she's planning. She calls him an idiot and says that she's not afraid of anything. She says she's just living her hot girl life and she's an immortal triclops who isn't afraid of anything. She summons her UFO monster and Yakumo shows her the seal on his forehead, revealing that he's her Wu and she lost her memory. He accuses her of feeding back what he told Pai and said if she's this super-powerful immortal, he dares her to show him some of her power. She seems shaken...but she brushes it off, telling Yakumo to fuck off when he warns her that she's making herself a target with all her fun-having. She flies off on her UFO monster but he grabs onto the tail, promising her that he can get her memory back. She asks him if she will discover who the "male presence" inside her is and Yakumo figures out she's referring to his soul being inside her. She's super excited to meet that person and Yakumo is gobsmacked that that's the secret of her immortality. He actually cries and assures her that she'll find that person. When she asks if she'll find other members of her kind, he infers that she's feeling lost and lonely and that's why she's running off and acting wild. She denies it and tries to push him off the UFO...and succeeds. Yakumo falls until the monster catches him in its jaws, eating him alive. Three-Eye Pai disappears after a headache, leaving Pai to discover Yakumo being devoured.
Then helicopters catch up with her. End of chapter.

Chapter 26:
Pai wakes up in her bed, dismissing yesterday's events as another dream. Then she finds a bunch of random shit from the city in her bed. She's confused and so is Yakumo, who wakes up from the floor. He spent the whole night looking for her so imagine how pissed he was when he found her back in her room. He asks her what she's been doing and she doesn't know...but at school, she reads in the paper that a UFO attacked the city, with a young girl on the back of it...
Her friends saw it and say the girl looked just like Pai. Pai figures out that it was her...and that she did all that while she was sleepwalking. She talks to Yakumo about it on the roof and admits that she probably can't live a normal life. He takes her down to tell her that triclops are, from birth, split-personality. Since she half-awakened, her other Three-Eyed side has woken up. Pai is worried but Yakumo assures her that her Three-Eyed self has a weak point: Shiva's Claw! He found out about it from a trip in Tibet. Wearing it, even if she uses her powers, the Three-Eyed side won't come out. It was created to reduce the strength of triclops who couldn't control their power but all it does to Pai is keep her other personality from coming out. Pai says if they find the charm, she can keep living as a human, right? He says sure...until she gets her memory back anyway.
Back in class, Pai thinks she shouldn't trust that Yakumo guy too much (He is giving some mixed signals about her recovering her memories...). She looks through her bag for her charm...only to not find it. She remembers in the dream, she threw the other bag it was in in the trash. Then she gets dizzy and falls to the ground in front of several teachers...and gets up and leaves without a word. A woman follows her out to lead her to the nurse's office...then the monster from the dream bursts through a wall, knocking the woman out as Three-Eyed Pai laughs, calling humans weak and uninteresting.
Yakumo spots the damage and sees Three-Eyed Pai fly away, hearing her say she's free and no one can stop her. So now he has to follow her while everybody stampedes about a UFO being spotted. Meanwhile, Three Eyed Pai is being picked up by some guy before Yakumo catches up to her. Three-Eyed Pai doesn't recognize him, just knowing his name and saying she'll kill him if he gets closer.

Chapter 25:
So there's a building and inside it there's a lady and in front of her there's a pentagram.
The lady chants, throws away a bag of lunch and...summons a demon. That lady laughs in triumph then goes to a mirror and...she's Pai?!
Pai wakes up screaming, having apparently fallen asleep in the park. Later on, Yakumo serves her friends drinks in a restaurant, both of them being grateful for him saving them from...a low blood pressure attack. Pai's nervous but he reassures her that if they told them what really happened, they wouldn't believe them. One of the friends asks Yakumo what he does for a living. He says he's a high school dropout. To be specific, he joined a company in Hong Kong four years ago and he's been traveling all over the world since then. Pai asks what kind of work and he says he exorcises monsters.
Our old friends at Yougekisha have changed gears from being an occult publishing company to an exorcism business, even having business cards. Oh and Yakumo's old boss (the restaurant they're in is the transvestite bar he used to work in) greets the girls but they run into Yakumo's arms, pissing the former off. The ungrateful students say they can't depend on him, saying he can't even handle "a single transvestite".
They do thank him for the meal when they're going home in the taxi though. Pai then asks him why he be so weird with his backstory while he's getting on his motorcycle. He tells her not to worry about him but to think about herself. Specifically, her powers. He asks if she thinks of them as a mere convenience. She says she doesn't know how to feel about them. He asks if she's happy that she's different from other people now. She says she does feel better compared to others now; she's frail but now she can fuck people up. She asks if that's weird and he says he was the same way. She just needs to keep in mind there's a time and a place for them; using them all willy-nilly will bring nothing but misery to people. He's actually worried because he has no idea what she'll do in her half-awakened state...but, as long as she has the charm, they should be okay. He asks if she still has it. She says it's in her bag.
That she might have left at school.
He says that's very bad because everyone agreed to come to the bar in their casual clothing. She, however, showed up late in her school clothes. Then she tells him that she woke up in the park. Then she gets dizzy and falls down, even though she didn't even drink. Yakumo goes off to hail a cab and when he comes back...Pai is gone.
Meanwhile, Ken-Ken and Don are trapped in a traffic jam before spotting Pai riding the demon from her dream, laughing like a loon.

Chapter 24
Blast is still going on and Pai feels like her head is going to split. The leader leaps from the flames to strike her with her arm blade but Pai blows her to kingdom come, saving the day. Her third eye fully awakened, she looks at Yakumo and smiles...before running over to hug him, cheering that they did it.
Yakumo does the cover trick and turns Pai's friends back to normal...because apparently he always knew how to do that. He sees the father one last time and leaves the room, telling him good night. You see, the father...is a mummified corpse. Puppet artist Kuruigi, who died at 99, died alone in his own estate because he refused to depend on anyone.
Back at home, Pai feels bad about how she ended the mannequin leader. Yakumo tells her that being a puppet, she couldn't comprehend death and thought that getting her dead master immortality would "fix" him. Pai did her a favor: now she can rest in peace without ever knowing her father died. She thanks him and then, dinner with the lying old folk.
The next day, while she's walking to school, Yakumo shouts at Pai demanding to know why her memories haven't come back yet. He complains that he combed the world for her for four years and when he finds her, she's half-assing awakening. She apologizes in confusion...but he admits he was just venting and that if she doesn't have her memory back, that's the way it is. In fact, this is perfect; if she doesn't get her memory back, she can lead a normal life. Still, he wants her to remember again so he won't leave her side. She asks what specific memory he wants her to get back and he says it's a secret...before he suddenly kisses her, as "shock treatment".
Back at home, the grandpa is looking at the photo of Yakumo and Pai that she had on her when they found her in Hong Kong. He bemoans to grandma that she's going to leave them soon...but, until she says something, they'll just forget about it.
Pai slapped Yakumo. End of chapter.

Chapter 23
So, Yakumo is still impaled as the leader implores Pai that she just wants her father to be immortal. But because she won't do it, she'll just kill the only person who can give her what she wants.
But Pai says she's stupid for a completely different reason, saying that she can't save her father because she's completely human. But if she turns her friends back and leaves Yakumo alone, she'll do whatever she can to help. Yakumo, super still alive, says that a girl can't just go around saying "I'll do anything" to everybody (Facts). He tells her an incantation, Barasuvidaahi, and repeats what has to be for the hundredth fucking time that she's not human. And she has the power to beat the leader. He tells her to repeat the incantation and use it on the leader. She freaks out when it activates and misses but Yakumo gets free to help her. Now it looks like Yakumo's gonna have to fight her friends...so he takes out a small bottle of something and blows up the floor in front of them.
He says that if she wants them to go back to normal, they need to find the puppetmaster. They'll find him at the Black Grave. She wants to treat his wounds but he tells her that he's not human either so he's fine. Somehow, some way, this is what convinces her that she's not human herself, causing her to cry. He calms her down and tells her that the charm he gave her will let her use her destructive powers along with the proper incantation...and he's sorry that he doesn't have time to teach her the proper incantations. Pai apologizes for being a bitch to him. She was just upset that she turned out to be a monster. He tells her that at the moment, her body's no different than an ordinary human's and it's not currently equipped to handle the more powerful spells. So as long as she doesn't use her powers, she won't awaken. See, if she says the incantation to the end and uses it, she'll awaken her triclops side for sure. She asks what happens then and he tells her that after that, she can't live as a normal human anymore. As for what he'll do with her...let's not worry about that for now.
He assures her that he's not after her powers. He just wants to protect her and get her memories back. Pai's understandably concerned over the whole "can't live like a regular human" thing but Yakumo goes into a room with the father...and leaves, saying he misread the situation. He tries to get her out but Don/Ken-Ken attack, forcing Yakumo to shield Pai from their strikes...before they're lit on fire by the leader, who intends to kill all four of them. Yakumo shoulder checks her and them out the house but it doesn't do much. Pai, having had enough, holds up her hand to blast her away despite Yakumo warning her not to give up her normal life to do so (I thought he wanted her memories back though? Mixed signals, man...). She says the incantation, her eyes pop out, a light flashes and...end of chapter.

Chapter 22
Pai is horrified, asking what the leader did to them. The leader answers she made them into her servants, living mannequins. She says Pai made her do it before she orders them to kill Pai by eating her alive. She laughs as Pai is attacked, figuring that the triclops refuses to use her powers against her friends...before a cop is thrown through the glass ceiling!
She orders the mannequins to push her father inside while Yakumo asks if he can join the party. Pai is happy to see the "Liar Boy" (Goddamn it, Pai...) and he jokes that if she doesn't act cute, he's not going to rescue her. The leader attacks him, mad at him for damaging her father's study. He fucks her up with these wrist guard thingies, damaging her wooden arm and saying toys should stay in their boxes. She produces a sword from the "wound" and says he's not an ordinary human either while he counters that she's not just burnable wood either. She dashes at him, ready to slice him to pieces before stabbing him and throwing him back into the study, saying he's throwing away his one and only life. He points out saying he has only one life is a weird thing for living wood to say while Pai begs him not to look at her torn shirt, because her bra is out.
He doesn't help when he says she looks hotter like this than if she was completely naked. She calls him a pervert and he somehow takes offense to that, busting up all the mannequins descending on him while Pai watches on in awe of his strength. Despite thinking he's cool, she keeps calling him a pervert (all things considered, she's not wrong...). He says she's not being cute and she challenges that notion, leaving him without an oar in the argument. Still, he puts on a brave face and says nothing is cute about her and she believes it, thinking she has a baby face and an immature body. Either way, Yakumo is getting sick of fighting mannequins and puts his palm to the floor, calling forth a being named Tochao. That being? The same one that uses the invisible claws, slicing up the mannequins with Earth power.
Pai is safe and asks what he is. Yakumo restates his name and says he's her bodyguard. He asks what happened to her friends and Pai says they were turned into a mannequin together which the leader rides through the ceiling to kill them both. Yakumo is impaled by one of their legs, ending the chapter.

Chapter 21
So how does Pai react to last chapter's earth-shattering revelation? Appropriately:
Yakumo, bless his heart, tries to explain the seriousness of the situation but Pai just brushes him off, saying she has to get to school. An itty bit annoyed that he literally just killed a cop in front of her and she still refuses to believe him, he says that she can be such a bitch sometimes. She says she can't be a demon, saying that he's just trying to pick her up. Yakumo, a bit stunned, reiterates that he's not lying, her grandfather is. She hits him, saying she hates him and that she won't forgive anyone who badmouths her grandfather. As she gets on the bus, he throws her a triclops charm to wear on her wrist. It'll let her use her powers to a limited degree. In other words, if she uses her powers, it'll prove he's right about her.
After she's dropped off, Pai bemoans that if only Yakumo approached her in a normal way instead of what was apparently the greatest improv performance this side of street magicians, she might have accepted his feelings. Hell, he just so happens to be her type. But he called her a bitch and insulted her grandfather so fuck him. Also, there's no such things as monsters...just mannequins, apparently. Speaking of, when she tells the driver that he drove past her stop, the mannequin driving the bus tells her there's nothing to worry about. And, when she asks the riders for help, they're mannequins too (is she selectively blind or something?).
Remembering her charm bracelet, she points her hand at the mannequins and yells "Begone!". It doesn't work so she must be human after all. Actually, the head mannequin from the other night tells her not to worry and asks her not to use her powers. She just wants Pai to give her eternal life. If she doesn't, well...she just so happens to have her friends with her and if she doesn't get what she wants, they might be in a bit of trouble...
She allows herself to be taken away, along with her friends Ken-Ken and Don, and winds up in front of an old man in a wheel chair, who the lead mannequin controller comforts with the promise of eternal life. Turns out he's her father and he's who the lady wants Pai to use her powers on. Pai wants to go home but the leader says either she saves her father or she doesn't go anywhere. Pai says she doesn't know what she's talking about, saying she's just an ordinary human. The leader is not pleased and strings her hands up, asking if she doesn't care what happens to her friends. She puts a blanket over their faces and makes them blank!
Then she puts the blanket over them and I can't describe what she did. I'm just going to have to show you:

Chapter 20
Pai's mysteriously back in her house, much to her own confusion. She goes downstairs, says hi to grandma and grandpa and runs to the shower before her grandpa can tell her something. In the shower, she remembers the mannequin leader telling her she has amazing powers, thinking it was too real to be a dream. If she really destroyed the disco, she could be in serious trouble. But...she has powers! Maybe she's psychic? She got home by teleportation? She brushes the thoughts out of her head as she hears a knock on the door, answering it naked. Yakumo is walking in, the grandparents having apparently told him that he could brush his teeth in there...
He tries to apologize but nope! Hair dryer to the face! Later, Pai asks her grandma about him and she tells her he brought her back with her friends the other day. And since he didn't have a place to sleep, they agreed to put him up for the night. Pai says he's scary but her grandma tells her to thank him.
Meanwhile, Yakumo is eating with grandpa who tells him that Pai is his son's daughter from Hong Kong who he took in when his son died by a bus accident that she was apparently on. And the accident caused her her memory. Pai walks in to thank him and Yakumo tries to apologize for earlier but instead offers to walk her to school.
Pai is clearly uncomfortable around him, not knowing what to do before just flat out asking who he is. She asks if he's the one who made the mannequins and is after her power. She says if he is, he needs to leave her alone and he answers that it looks like she really did forget everything. He says when he saw the Fuujin on her forehead the other day, he was afraid that was the case. Her powers are being sealed off by it but she says he's lying. She's supposed to have gotten it in the bus accident that killed her dad according to her grandpa. Yakumo then gives her the heavy news: she's not human. She's a monster who wields the power of immortality, the last of the triclops. A bunch of monsters and spirits are coming to her city to get her power because she let herself be put in that magazine. Her grandparents have been lying to her; she happened to look like their dead granddaughter so they picked her up in Hong Kong.
Naturally, Pai doesn't want to believe any of this. She runs away from Yakumo and tells him to never come near her again. Then she bumps into a policeman. He asks her what's wrong and she says Yakumo is a creep who keeps following her. Yakumo defends himself by charging the cop with a knife.
He stabs the cop in the chest and Pai screams, calling him a murderer. Then the cop melts into the ground, revealing the mannequin underneath. He asks if she at least believes that he has nothing to do with the mannequins now. He reintroduces himself as Yakumo Fuuji, the one her life is bound with.

Chapter 19
So false alarm: Pai's friends aren't locked in! Just her...and they can't get back inside. One of them wants to call the police but the other points out that they have to go to a cop, tell them they went to the Disco, got attacked by mannequins and got locked outside. The other girl reasonably counters that while the mannequin part will be a hard sell, there is a girl trapped inside. So they'll just say that part.
Meanwhile, Pai is trying to get away but all the exits are sealed. She laments her fate as the mannequins attack, forcing her to take refuge in a room where somebody is working at the door. They ask her what her problem is and she screams "Mannequins!". Then they ask her why is she having so much trouble when she has amazing powers? You see, that person...is another Mannequin! And she knows that Pai's a triclops!
She dares her to fight back but Pai just screams for help as the mannequins swarm her. She screams and screams and screams and her head glows...and then, she causes a massive explosion.
Everybody sees it from outside, including her friends and Yakumo. Inside, Pai doesn't know what's going on and begs for someone to help her...and Yakumo shows up to take away her unconscious body while the Mannequin leader watches.

Chapter 18
Yakumo is still looking for Pai, only having a photo of her to show other people. He calls her the Goddess of Fortune...kind of shooting himself in the foot when it comes to being taken seriously and...really? You've had nothing but good luck since meeting her? The woman who has caused you to die a dozen times since you met? Her?
Pai is fine, by the way. She's in this schoolgirl outfit hanging out with these other kids. She was called to the principal's office and they stayed after school to wait for her. Apparently, Pai was caught on film in her uniform and they put the picture in a magazine, getting her in trouble. So her friends are taking her out to cheer her up. She's happy...but she gets the odd feeling she's being watched...
Oh well though. Her new name is Pai Ayano Kouji. She's a first year (15-16) at Kouka's Private Girl's Academy. A lonely middle class girl without a boyfriend. "Boyfriend" will be a recurring theme here because her life's goal is to get a really cool one. But she still feels like she's being watched, specifically by an evil presence. Her friends call her crazy but...nah, she's definitely being spied on. By several guys now...
Her friends come across a homeless man on the street who has apparently been there for three days. He has the magazine with Pai in it...it's Yakumo. He stands up and starts gasping like a trapped animal, freaking the girls out into running away from him. But he grabs Pai's wrist, pulling her in for a hug...
Then she throws him back and screams for help.
Now he's homeless and a molester! Good job, Yakumo!
Her friends want to get the hell out, saying the city's changed. Pai says weird shit has been happening since the last week. It's like the town has changed since the magazine came out. Just when they're about to set out, Pai spots Yakumo running. She's scared so her friends want to find someplace to hide from him. Then a guy comes up and offers them a stay in his club, saying there's a special discount for ladies tonight. They go in and, as soon as they hit the floor, the music stops.
(They got the wrong place...)
Oh, those aren't real people. They're mannequins. They run for the door but it's locked from the outside. Then, a giant female mannequin descends on Pai...before bowing and saying welcome.

Chapter 17
Yakumo is practicing Kung Fu with Ling Ling. Pai distracts him and it pretty much gets his ass kicked. She's trying to teach him that in battle, if he's distracted so easily, he won't be able to protect Pai. Then she tickles him.
Anyway, it's been two weeks since they got the statue back. They're staying at Huang's house while they wait on a analysis of the statue. Steve's recovering in the hospital and, when suggested to have a party when he's released, he asks if they could instead have a party for when Pai becomes human. Yakumo hears that and...is conflicted. He wonders what will happen when they regain their humanity. He'll go back to Japan and Pai will most likely go back to Tibet. His solution? Ask Pai to live with him in Japan. He's so excited, he kicks a chicken (already cooked, don't worry), confusing Pai. He then asks her what she's going to do when she becomes human. She says party.
It'll be her first party so she's rather excited. Yakumo is disappointed but whatever...our ominous benefactor Huang is tailing them in her car with two goons. The goon up front says Benaresu won't come after them in the middle of town and the goon in the back, calling her "Shunkai", asks what she's going to do. Shunkai answers that Pai and Yakumo are a real triclops and a Wu, saying that they themselves will follow Benaresu and not make enemies of the two. Keeping them close may make them useful some day. And if King Devil Eyes can't be resurrected then they'll just make Pai the second King Devil Eyes.
So she orders the goon in the back, Gesu (!), to not go after Pai. Gesu cackles, saying he understands.
Later in bed, Yakumo rolls over and over whining mentally about how he can't ask Pai to come back to Japan with him. He guesses that even if he's invincible, it doesn't necessarily make him braver. A weird bird flies outside his window as he resolves to go downstairs and tell Pai what his feels are. He goes and walks in her room...and finds Three-Eyed Pai confronting the bird from outside, who has in fact taken over the body of Takuhi.
It's Benaresu! Yakumo tells him that since they're about to become human, they want nothing to do with him. Benaresu says he'll give them one day...but Three-Eyed Pai will come to Aberdeen (Kurt Cobain's hometown?) in two days regardless. He assures them that he's not going to kill her or eat her or anything. He just needs her to sleep for a little while to bring back the King Devil Eyes. When his master is back, he'll return her. Yakumo asks why they should hand over Pai to him. Benaresu responds by splitting his own bird face in half, saying that if they don't want everyone in the mansion to end up like that, they'll do what he says. They have one to two days to get their shit in order...
So as they're outside burying Takuhi, Yakumo asks Three-Eyed Pai about the details on Wu and the King Devil Eyes. Three Eye Pai says long ago, there was a wicked triclops who wanted to become ruler over all every land. Everybody told him not to but he did it anyway, for some reason. The triclops who stood against him were slaughtered. Together with Benaresu, they made days really shitty for everyone. In the end, the remaining triclops got together and sealed him away in the Seichi, using their own lives to do so. Pai was the only one left. That's why Three-Eyed Pai wants to fight him. Even though she thinks he will keep his word and let Pai live, if the King Devil Eyes comes back, that's it for humanity. She tells him not to tell any of this to Pai, or to talk about Takuhi. They will be leaving according to Benaresu's orders in two days.
Later, they end up having that party anyway. Everyone is having a good time...except for Yakumo, who wonders if they can really beat Benaresu. Pai comes over to take a picture with him and, seeing her happy face, he decides that they will win. He goes out onto the balcony where Pai joins him. He finally asks her to come back to Japan with him and the two kiss when Pai accepts.
When they go back inside, Yakumo gets toasted with Ling Ling. Ling Ling says he can make a career out of monster extermination with his immortality but Yakumo says that's a bust because he's going to become human soon. Meixing asks him where Pai is but Yakumo doesn't know, despite being just with her a moment ago.
Pai left, planning to fight Benaresu and prevent the King Devil Eyes resurrection on her own. Takuhi's spirit told her everything and, despite Three-Eyed Pai warning her against it, Pai doesn't want to inconvenience anyone. Three Eyed Pai (I imagine that, even if she's just a voice in her head, she's speaking through gritted teeth now) reminds her that if she dies, Yakumo dies with her...but Pai brushes her off and leaves.
A still-drunk Yakumo goes looking for Pai and finds a note in her room, telling him that she's going off to fight the King Devil Eyes and tells him not to be mad. He pretty much has my reaction:
Then a bright light comes from Aberdeen (apparently also a place in Hong Kong) and Yakumo screams Pai's name...
Time skip. Yakumo hasn't seen Pai since that day. He says he'll search for her as long as it takes. And then...they'll become human together.

Chapter 16
Whoever Earthbender Dude is, Pai doesn't like him, silently begging Yakumo to come and save her. Yakumo is able to hear her, reattaching his hand and cutting down Ryouko with the sword due a sudden surge of energy coursing through his body. He's about to deliver the coup de grace to Ryouko but the latter begs him not to. Yakumo calls him out for killing all those women yet having the balls to beg for his own life but Ryokuo says it wasn't him. You see, he did the sacrifices because he was told to, not because he wanted to. He was Just Following Orders!
The guy who ordered him is the one who is really trying to bring back King Devil Eyes with all these different rituals and shit. He's just one cog of many...so he has to live! Yakumo's a Wu so that makes him a monster so that makes them brothers. He should be working with them instead!
Meanwhile, Earthbender Guy is surprised to find a triclops still alive. He asks Three Eyed Pai what she's doing there. She answers same as him: she came for the statue. A follower of hers (Ling-Ling) was able to locate it with a tracker. He asks if the statue's with them. She tells him to fuck off. He says if she wants to use the statue to become human, give it to him and he'll make that happen. Instead, she asks what happened to Kaiyan, otherwise known as King Devil Eyes. He's supposed to be sealed in Seichi (Holy Land) so she doesn't know why the guy is seeking the statue. He says an old seal like that can't hold the King forever; his resurrection is only a matter of time now. Three-Eyed Pai says the statue is a two-edged sword; it can be used for humanization or as a tool of destruction of the entire world. She likes the world as it is and she won't let it be used by those drunk with power and bent on destruction.
She will never hand over the statue. When the guy asks if she's sure, she says even if she dies, she will never let King Devil Eyes be resurrected. He then asks her if she thinks she can kill him; she tells him to shut up as she shoots magic at him. He responds by making the ceiling cave in on her from above. Smashing the statue (not the Ningen) in the process...
Yakumo comes down to get Pai and finds her in the man's hands. He has a Wu seal on his head!
Ryouko, who Yakumo let live for some stupid reason, calls the guy Lord Benaresu, causing Yakumo to guess that he's the general of all monsters and probably King Devil Eyes' Wu. Anyway, Ryouko introduces Yakumo as a Wu and an idiot who can't finish off his enemies (can't fault that...). However, Benaresu says Ryouko is the idiot, placing his hand on the ground and calling forth the Earth Claw. The same shit that attacked them in the mansion slices Ryouko into pieces as Benaresu says he has no need for someone who can't even deal with a manlet like Yakumo. Then, he demands Yakumo tell him where the statue is. Yakumo freezes until he sees Pai trying to get away. When Benaresu is distracted by her, he strikes at him with the sword. Benaresu chuckles and says that fights between Wus are a waste of time. He makes his exit, saying he'll be back for the statue. Until then, he needs to take good care of Pai...
Yakumo thinks they're saved...then Three-Eyed Pai hits him in the back of the head, saying he was too slow to show up. But it still wasn't a bad showing for him. He's about to hit her back before she turns back into Pai, pausing his hand.
Next problem: how the hell are they going to get out of the building? The place is crumbling, the stairs are out, no emergency ladder...they're trapped. Pai apologizes, saying it's her fault. Yakumo says it's actually Ryouko's fault...who is still alive and begging for mercy again. Pai says don't worry and that they'll say him, hugging his bloodied body. Yakumo reacts accordingly:
He goes "Whatever" and asks Ryouko if there's another way up. Ryouko calls him an idiot (really inspiring others to help you, jackass...) and asks him what the use is in fleeing up. Yakumo says that everyone is waiting for them on the roof. Ryouko says he's being overly optimistic; even the immortal Benaresu is only thinking of getting the fuck out of Dodge at the moment. Humans are no better, only thinking of saving their own asses at all times. Why would they wait on the roof for them? What would they stand to gain from that? There is no person on this planet who thinks about others. Pai says he's wrong: Yakumo thinks about her. He risks his life for her all the time. Because they're friends. And Meixing! Hearing that, Ryouko says there's a ladder in the column heading to the roof.
Yakumo is shocked but Ryouko tells him to get out of his sight already, saying he can die on the roof. Pai tells him to come with them but Ryouko tells Yakumo to grab her and run up. Yakumo does so, leaving him behind...but Ryouko isn't scared. He says the final sacrifice will be with his own blood. Yakumo doesn't let his advice go to waste as he takes Pai to the roof...and finds no helicopter.
Yakumo isn't even mad, admitting Ryouko was right that there was no reason for them to stay...but Pai points out the helicopter returning overhead, saying that she really likes humans. The chapter ends with the two rescued.

Chapter 15
Civilians talk about how all the kidnapped women have been found at the hotel...then a dude steps in the way of a street-car. He doesn't let it hit him...but the ground pillars up to protect him as he looks ominously up at the hotel.
Yakumo and Pai check on each other as Meixing apparently gives them the cold shoulder, much to Yakumo's annoyance. Then Pai gets up and stares at the King Devil Eyes statue, leaving both of them open to Ling Ling shouting at them for goofing off again. She says that there's a helicopter on the roof and they need to leave before the building goes down in flames. Yakumo says they can't go because there are still women who need to be rescued. Ling Ling happily tells him that all of the women have escaped downstairs since the police were notified by Ms. Wong...then she throws a grenade.
She reiterates that they need to go to the roof and everybody follows her, Yakumo thinking that the beast, whose name is apparently Ryouko, has disappeared to get out of harm's way. He focuses on leaving with the others, Ling Ling telling him that since they have the statue and Steve, they don't need to deal with the police. Yakumo says they'll be tracked though, to which Ling Ling answers they'll ditch the helicopter in the ocean. Ms. Wong will pick them up in a cruiser. Ms. Wong (for simplicity's sake, I'm going back to calling her Huang) and Ling Ling really did plan everything out...but Yakumo is worried being involved in open urban warfare like this might hurt his reputation. Pai says it won't do that because no one will judge him for saving Meixing. Meixing likes him too, she says...to which Yakumo angrily answers he doesn't think about her at all.
Pai says he's lying and Yakumo says he doesn't care about that bitch...and Meixing speaks up behind him, making him hide behind Pai...but she just wanted to apologize for doubting him and say thank you for helping her. She apologizes for costing Yakumo his right hand...but he tells her to chill, saying he'll grow it back. She then apologizes to Pai for damaging her "boyfriend"...which causes them both to laugh it off, Yakumo saying they aren't like that and Pai says they're just friends. Somehow, that hurts Yakumo's feelings.
(Those who know, know.)
Suddenly, Meixing is elated, happy she didn't become a sacrifice for this King Devil Eyes guy. Hearing that makes Pai freeze up...but screw that, they're on the roof now. Yakumo is still sad about being friendzoned, saying that since Pai's face turned red at the suggestion, there's still a chance. But she hesitated though...poor zombie boy, will he ever get a chance to hit? The helicopter's about to take off but wait! Where's Pai?!
He goes to get her despite Ling Ling telling him it's too dangerous and that she told Pai to go to the elevators. Yakumo says that he still has to go get her...and then Ryouko tears through the ceiling of the roof, saying nobody will leave there alive.
Ling Ling opens fire with a machine gun and it does nothing because Ryouko knocks the bullets away with his wings. Weapons are useless, according to Steve...they need to stop him from using his wings. But Ling Ling says they don't even need to fight him; they have the Ningen, they can just leave. Ling Ling tells Yakumo that he needs to get in the helicopter or he'll die. Yakumo says that no he won't and that in everyone's life, someone has something that they value above themselves...to him, that thing is Pai.
He activates the seal on his forehead, to the shock of everyone present. Ryouko finally figures out what he is and freaks out, Meixing telling Ling Ling not to take off until Yakumo and Pai come onboard. Ling Ling says they'll wait until the last second for them...
Meanwhile, Pai looks with her third eye at the statue, flashing back to memories she didn't know she had. Three Eyed Pai tells Pai not to remember what happened, since she went through all the trouble to forget. She tells her whoever she's thinking of, he's gone now. Then we see the guy from the beginning of the chapter approach her out of the flames...
Meanwhile, Yakumo battles the still freaking out Ryouko, who refuses to believe that he's up against a Wu. Yakumo's trying to get the hand he brought with him on the roof but Ryouko keeps blocking him. Pissed, he throws the sword still held in his hand at Ryokuo, cutting his throat as Pai identifies the mysterious man.

Chapter 14
Meixing wakes up in scantily robes and with a mark on her stomach. The beast is in front of her, leering. She asks who he is and what he's gonna do to her. He cheerfully answers that he's gonna rip her stomach open and spill her blood so that the King Devil Eyes can have the strength to come back. He can do it easily but he wants to watch her squirm first; fear is delicious to a monster, you see. She screams for help...and Yakumo shouts at him, saying he can't understand him because he's not speaking Japanese. Then, he flips him off.
The beast is surprised that Yakumo is still alive after he broke all his bones, apparently not knowing that he's a Wu yet. Yakumo assures Meixing that he'll rescue her and her brother...but she rightfully calls him an idiot, saying he should have waited to attack him by surprise. Sadly, he's bad with Chinese so he thinks she's praising him. Either way, the beast grabs him and flings him away, saying he'll deal with him later. But Yakumo is a lucky bastard...he lands right where the Ningen is!
The beast attacks him, finally cottoning on to the fact that he's not human. But Yakumo holds him off by threatening to shatter the statue. The beast angrily but impotently asks him what does he want. Happy that his bluff worked, Yakumo tells the beast to have his men drop his weapons. Then, he can't attack him. Finally, tell him the secret of the Ningen. Specifically, the humanization magic. The beast is confused and Yakumo thinks he's stalling so he threatens to smash the statue again. The beast says that the group took the statue because a long time ago, the guys who united them wanted the statue...so they took it. That's it. Yakumo asks if it was King Devil Eyes and The beast confirms it, saying that the King promised immortality to whoever found it. Yakumo then asks where King Devil Eyes is now and the beast says no one knows where he is. 300 years ago, someone put a seal on him. That's why they've been working all this time: to bring him back.
Then he wraps his tail around Yakumo's throat from behind, lifting him and saying he'll take care of him this time. Kill him? Oh no, that won't work. Instead, he injects Yakumo's arm with a parasite and orders him to kill Meixing, to specifically cut her stomach open and drag out her innards. Yakumo's hand moves by itself as he advances on Meixing. He cuts her, begging the beast to make him stop. The beast laughs, ordering him to cut her in two. Yakumo mentally begs for anyone to help, specifically Pai...but instead, he cuts his own arm off with the knife he brought.
The beast is surprised...but then he laughs and says he'll just try to kill him again. Yakumo goes "Nuh-uh! I'm gonna kill you!" and the beast goes "Aight...bet, bitch!" and Yakumo charges him...and the beast is riddled with holes, Pai firing on him from an out of control machine gun.
The two have a heartwarming reunion and Yakumo apologizes for leaving her alone. Then one of the masked men orders them to stop fucking around and escape. The masked man? Actually Ling Ling!
But the beast is still alive...and he won't let them escape so easily...

Chapter 13
With Takuhi dead, Yakumo runs into the building, still looking for the 32nd floor. He decides to go up the outer wall and rescue Meixing from the roof. He's nervous...but he remembers talking to Pai about Takuhi, showing disbelief that mere decapitation could kill him. Pai says that his head isn't just for decoration but Yakumo holds out that he could still be alive. He pulls Pai around to his side and tells her to wash her face and meet him in the lobby in three minutes.
So in the present, she leaves the bathroom and finds a note for her by Yakumo. It says that he's looking for Meixing and tells her to stay in the lobby. If he's not back in two hours, call Mrs. Huang and the police.
So our boy is currently climbing the outside of a building.
He hates it. Even if he's immortal, there's nothing really special about his physical abilities. Also, he's afraid of heights. He cries, wanting to go back to Japan and screaming about how scared he is. Yet, despite his unmanly bitching, he makes it to the roof. He congratulates himself and gasses himself up...and falls off the building while laughing too hard.
He catches himself with both legs and gets back on the roof. He sees a helicopter, sneaks into a room and finds this:
That's not Buddha. That's a triclops. He wonders if this is why the bad guys are looking for the Ningen but, more importantly, why the statue freaks him out so much. A tied up guy in a chair behind him says the statue is of the King Devil Eyes. He says many monsters worship the King and offer virgin sacrifices to it. Yakumo, grabbing a small axe from a recent sacrifice, demands for the man to identify himself. The guy says he doesn't know who Yakumo is but asks him to free him, looking beaten up. Yakumo asks him if he's Steve. Steve asks how did he know and Yakumo reveals he's there to save Meixing, much to Steve's shock.
Meixing, naked and on an altar, is being leered over by the beast from the elevator. The beast intends to give Meixing as the sacrifice to King Devil Eyes with his tongue going up her hooter (isn't she supposed to be a virgin for the sacrifice to work? Are they going by the actual definition of the blood just not having been used in a ritual before?). Anyway, the beast's tongue is cut off as Yakumo and Steve arrive to save her. Yakumo finds a spear and hurls it into the beast's head, telling him that it was for Takuhi. The beast falls and Yakumo celebrates, thinking he avenged Takuhi. He's immortal! He's not scared of heights! The beast is getting back up!
Oh crap.
Meanwhile, Pai is running through the building looking for Yakumo. Mean meanwhile, the beast is pissed and wants to make Yakumo suffer before he kills him. Yakumo is worried because he's paralyzed for a while if his head is taken off (as opposed to paralyzed...forever). Mean mean meanwhile, a masked guy approaches Pai from behind. She screams when she sees him as Yakumo is pummeled within an inch of his unlife.
