I think people forget ginny is just a kid
ginnyâs therapy episodes are so telling *not georgia hate* but when the therapist asked if her mom was her safe space and she said no bc
âwhen the boy pushes you and scrapes your knees you want to cry to mommy and have her hug you and tell you everything is gonna be okay, you donât want mommy to cut the brakes on the boys bike.â
there is no reason ginny should be expected to be A okay with what she found out abt her mother. leave her alone.

I love this take sm!!!
I donât see people discussing Zionâs parents and just how supportive they were prepared to be for him, Ginny, and Georgia. I know they arenât shown much in the show but for the moments that they are, I was very elated. They literally embraced 15 year old, homeless, Georgia into their family and set up a solid support system with a QUICKNESS!!! And even thought itâs not what Zion or Georgia wanted, their proposal for legal guardian ship was smart and considerate! That way the kids didnât have to technically give up custody, all 3 of them would have been supported into getting theyâre lives on track for a better future and Ginny wouldâve grown up in a structured, stable, and loving environment. (And when Zion and Georgia were no longer teenagers and had gotten on their feet then the legal guardianship that Zionâs parents would have had, would have ended!) Even after Zion wanted to go back on the agreed terms of his gap year with his parents, they still pulled through, ready to be there for their son and this poor 15 year old girl and their coming grandchild. Plus itâs very rare to see black family dynamics in media portrayed in a positive light where the family isnât struggling with poverty or missing one parent or riddled with stereotypes of drugs, abuse, and gangs etc. Itâs nice to see a black family doing well for once and literally no one is talking about it.
EDIT: just wanna say I wrote this post about season 1 and Iâm so glad they touched on the topic in season 2 . It was nice to see more of Zionâs family and hear about their feelings on Georgiaâs decision to leave in the past. And we got to see Georgia reflect on it too! Lots of hurt, pain, and anger on both sides but no hate. I really liked the added conversation between Ginny and her grandmother where she clarifies that she doesnât hate Georgia just that sheâs still angry with her. I think the writers accomplished a pretty genuine and realistic representation of how Ginnyâs grandparents and Georgia would be feeling. The tension, regret, and anger and worry⊠even Lynetteâs petty jabs at Georgia at Christmas dinner! Like we get why sheâs upset and provoking Georgia a little bit she doesnât hate her (to me i would say that Zionâs parents do still care about Georgia and love her as a person). And GOSH it hurt to see Georgia getting roasted like that IN HER OWN HOME, that she had to excuse herself to check her emotions. Because we know Georgia was just in survival mode and and we know Georgia kind of regrets putting her kids through all that. Ughhh the writers really popped off this season and I hope we get a season 3 because I would love to see Georgia and Zionâs parents have a heart to heart about the past, hug it out and see each otherâs perspectives. Maybe even talk about being more involved in Ginnyâs life in the future (and Austinâs life because YES I did see how they interacted with him and I think theyâd be a positive influence on both kids. Theyâd benefit from the stability.) Iâm loving hearing everyone elseâs thoughts so please continue the conversation đ„čđ«¶đŸ

To celebrate the release of Season 2 of Gonny and Georgia, here's my hot takes of the series and its characters!
The general popular lack of sympathy is due to Ginny being written by white female writers.
The only reasons theres sm sympathy for Georgia is due to the flashback episodes and the tragic backstop.
Georgia is NOT a great mom, but she IS a LOVING mom.
Max is actually the horrible friend, not just to Ginny, but to Abby.
Abby and Ginny are two sides of the same coin.
Ginnys feelings and expression of those feelings are a product of how she was raised, her background, and her situation, Georgia is NOT some innocent perfect little fairy with the big bad mean daughter.
Her going so fast with Marcus, was most likely a coping mechanism born out if trauma to deal with feeling like she has no bodily autonomy.
Marcus is only liked due to being conventionally attractive, and a "fanfiction fantasy".
Anyone is Ginny's position WOULD act the very same if not very similar.

Okay I know Ginny is selfish and ungrateful but sheâs a CHILD. Every teenager thinks their parents are embarrassing. You have to understand she sees her mom through the lense of being her daughter. She doesnât see the full scope of Georgiaâs sacrifices and traumas. Sheâs ungrateful now because doesnât realize that Georgia is both flawed and wants the best for her kids. These two facts can coexist.
When sheâs older I think she will look at her mom differently because at 15, she sees her mom as too much or too embarrassing but her dad (who is absent a lot because he wants to travel) as the cool, hip hero. Growing up is realizing your parents arenât perfect and accepting you love them anyway. Ginny still has a lot of growing up to do and I think the show needs to bring in more diversity in the writers room.
Also Iâm sorry, Zion is hot as fuck but he gets way too much praise. Him and Georgia were cute once upon a time but he took her out to leave because he couldnât handle his responsibilities. I think Ginny will grow to see that and appreciate her mom even more.
S2 will hopefully learn from S1 and do better. I really hope they get more WOC in the writers room to help with that. But letâs cut her some slack and STOP HATING ON THE ACTRESS.

Literally people just hate Ginny cause it's trendy she, along with the rest of mang are INCREDIBLY realistic teenage girls
I do not understand how people love Georgia but hate Ginny. Georgia is a âgirl bossâ and âbadassâ when she robs convenience stores, steals money from her boss, takes out credit cards in her sonâs name, and LITERALLY MURDERS PEOPLE, but Ginny is the worst because sheâs âungrateful and rudeâ like every 16 year old ever

apply for the job even if youâre confident you arenât going to get it. submit that scholarship application even if you think there a hundreds of other people who are more deserving than you because you will never know what you are capable of until you try. you didnât get the job? you didnât get the scholarship? then figure out why. was it because youâre unqualified or didnât have enough extra-curriculars? Â if you donât get the ideal results, make the effort to figure out why and use that as guidance to achieve it next time. donât be afraid to fail - itâs a clear representation of where you are and how you can improve.

People acting like rhaenyra claim to the throne is invalid because of her bastard children is the dumbest thing ever:
1) first of all what's important here is her blood, she's the heir not laenor not daemon, jacaerys claim as heir comes from rhaenyra blood, who cares who the father is? If she were a male fathering children with another woman no one would have questioned her succession, no one had trouble understanding how jon or gendry had a claim to the throne while being bastards and why cersei had all Robert's bastard killed i wonder why
2) viserys, the king, Laenor himself (!) and all of his family had no problem with this kids and actively and repeatedly claim them as legitimate during the story so if they don't have a problem with it I don't see why should the greens
3) Why would that impact rhaenyra succession anyway? If the greens were actually so concerned about a "bastard" on the throne the problem should've raised after rhaenyra died, it's clear that this reason was just a pretext from the green but see people in the fandom act like this argument has solid basis is just ridiculous
