***AKAYONA 249 SPOILERS***
No because I’m losing it actually over the fact that Shin-ah was brought back to some semblance of self by hearing his name from Yun
Like so far leading up to this point, everybody in the camp was just saying ‘the blue dragon’ or 'dragon warrior’, and Shin-ah is actively losing himself but trying desperately to find his family, to cling onto something that will ground him and remind him who he is
But everybody starts shooting at him and fighting him or trying to restrain him, even though they were trying to help, all of this is just bringing back Shin-ah’s past of being a captive and a slave to the Blue Dragon Village where he only knew himself to be a monster. Where everyone, even the people he was supposed to protect, were his enemies. He’s not only fighting the dragon body, but he’s fighting his past. He’s already escaped this horror just to be back here again and only when he gets a glimpse of the person he became through the people who loved him, only when he is reminded he has his precious name, identity, and family, does he stop
So yeah I’M NOT OKAY RN

I keep thinking about how he refers to them all as Baby Hak’s. I think they will be fine. He loves Hak and them.

Akatsuki no Yona Ch 246
Anyone notice Ao this chapter? Looks like he’s decided he’s going to need two nuts to solve this particular problem. I can certainly understand that.

Tohru Honda: a Subversion of Shoujo’s Nice Girl Trope
Tumblr media
Fruits Basket absolutely nails subverting your expectations of character tropes in anime.
Momiji is introduced as the cute childish boy but boom we are slapped with the fact that he a mother who hated him so much she had her memories wiped of him. Shigure right off the bat looks like the typical perverted uncle of anime when in reality he is one the most manipulative characters in the series. Ayame is the flamboyant, boisterous one whose bravado hides his regret and desire to repent for his past neglect of his younger brother. Which ultimately brings me to the protagonist of Furuba itself, Tohru Honda.

Every person need to be taught disability history
Not the “oh Einstein was probably autistic” or the sanitized Helen Keller story. but this history disabled people have made and has been made for us.
Teach them about Carrie Buck, who was sterilized against her will, sued in 1927, and lost because “Three generations of imbeciles [were] enough.”
Teach them about Judith Heumann and her associates, who in 1977, held the longest sit in a government building for the enactment of 504 protection passed three years earlier.
Teach them about all the Baby Does, newborns in 1980s who were born disabled and who doctors left to die without treatment, who’s deaths lead to the passing of The Baby Doe amendment to the child abuse law in 1984.
Teach them about the deaf students at Gallaudet University, a liberal arts school for the deaf, who in 1988, protested the appointment of yet another hearing president and successfully elected I. King Jordan as their first deaf president.
Teach them about Jim Sinclair, who at the 1993 international Autism Conference stood and said “don’t mourn for us. We are alive. We are real. And we’re here waiting for you.”
Teach about the disability activists who laid down in front of buses for accessible transit in 1978, crawled up the steps of congress in 1990 for the ADA, and fight against police brutality, poverty, restricted access to medical care, and abuse today.
Teach about us.
