   “ OH... “ mafuyu blinked looking out as the rain poured down heavily with no sign of letting up. the weather reports didn’t indicate any chance of showers so this massive downpour was completely unexpected and since it was unexpected he had gone out without an umbrella and a rather light cardigan given the weather was rather decent just moments prior.

   “ could i... make it if i ran? “ he mumbled to himself with a furrowed brow. it was at best thirty minutes to the train station from here. he’d be drenched in no time.

     Meisha ended another day of freelance photography, somehow with it being neither uneventful nor interesting. At least nothing bad has happened to anyone, and she was able to leave a client sooner than scheduled. As a result, she had a little more time to burn for herself, and found it too soon to go home. How about we grab a bite to eat somewhere, then? This was the area that had all the good dining and shopping places, though, so it’s not easy to decide where to eat.

     Her tracks stopped upon hearing someone express their grievances in public. Ever the nosy one, she comes up behind him just to ask, “Need help, buddy?”

   THE split second he heard the voice from behind him, mafuyu jumped slightly in spot. glancing around to doublecheck that the voice was directed at him he turned around to face the person who had just spoken to him. blinking a few times as he tried to figure out why she was asking if he needed help it only took but a moment for him to realise that what he thought was a quiet mumble to himself under his breath was quite a bit louder than intended. guess she heard the disappointment in his voice which, while rare, wasn’t completely out of the norm. even if he was bad at expressing himself the sheer level of disappointment of something he was looking forward to for so long suddenly disappearing before his very eyes the moment he actually had time was abysmal.

   “ a-ah-- “ mafuyu found himself struggling with his words as he was finally brushing off the initial shock of a complete stranger approaching him like this. “ it... it’s nothing. “ he paused for a moment before fumbling about to point at the sign in front of the restaurant saying it was closed for renovations. “ i’d saved up money to come here and when i finally had free time this happened. “

   “ MN... why does it feel so warm? “ mafuyu quietly mumbled to himself, a clear strain on his voice as he wobbled about looking as if he were ready to pass out at any second. when he left home he didn’t feel sick at all but the more the day progressed the higher his temperature rose and the harder it was to focus on his surroundings. if he didn’t promise his mother he would go buy some groceries for them today while she was busy working he would have stayed home but now the pressing matter was how on earth would he even get home in this condition?

   “ AH-- “ mafuyu blinked to look over himself. while he was rather attentive toward others he sometimes didn’t bother to notice as much when it came to himself. luckily he was unharmed. “ i... i’m fine. i was more worried about you because that looked like it hurt. “

    “ DID that hurt? “ mafuyu couldn’t help but ask without thought. despite his looks he was a rather observant young man. he noticed things some people hadn’t even realised themselves and sometimes he’d notice things others thought they kept secret but he’d come to notice quite easily. while most thought he was a space case mafuyu was, in fact, quite perceptive.
