I’m another post I talked about how Odysseus says “and if I gotta drop another infant from a wall in an instant so we all don’t die” and how you can just hear the rage in his voice, but I wanna add on to that. It wasn’t just him being enraged, it was also him being desperate.

he needs to prove the prophecy wrong. He needs to prove to the fates that he will get home and nothing will stop him. He needs to get home to Penelope and Telemachus. He needs to prove that his crew didn’t lose their lives for nothing. And you can just hear that so clearly in Monster

I am highly against the ‘Thalia/Percy would be a partier who drinks and smokes’ agenda, when both of them have bad experiences with people who drank and smoked. I am a firm believer in the idea that Percy, Thalia, and Jason, can not be around people who drink without being on edge.
