I am always down with getting funky for the bit🤙

Something that will help you cope with your frustration with society is knowing that trends exist on a swing set. Things will always swing one way to the furthest extreme before swinging back to the opposite extreme.

Look at pants. We got them tighter and tighter until they couldn't get any more tight, then swung back to JNKOs, then invented jeggings, and now we're back to baggy pants.

Shoes: Thin stilettos to wide chunky platforms to stilettos to platforms again. Nails. Eyelashes. Hair. As big as you can get them, as crazy as you can, then simple and tiny again, then back to big.

And every once in a while new technology is invented and we have to use it on absolutely everything, even if it's stupid, until we get annoyed with ourselves and cut it out.

Then once decade as a new one comes around we get delusions about Entering A New Age and get funky with it for a bit.

That's it. That's all. We're just going through the cycles.

Just went out for a stroll at like 2:00 in the morning while its pouring

Walked around the block with an umbrella and dugout box

I'd pack the hitter and hold it in my mouth, lighting it as I balanced the umbrella under my elbow.

Then I'd hold the umbrella down as I exhaled plumes of smoke into the black sky

Suddenly for no reason at all, a little bit of fear pricked up in me

What if one of my imaginary creatures from my childhood was following me

Looming over me, out of sight above my umbrella ( I haven't thought about those guys in yearsss )

I took a deep breath and figured if that were so, this would be a pretty badass way to go out.

And I became completely comfortable

Passed a possum, took him awhile to see me, but when I scuffed my boot on the cement and he hauled ass faster than I thought was possible.

I felt some adrenaline in my back and neck when I first noticed him. I wasn't scared, but very aware this is his turf, and he is a creature of the night

Lucky for us the path he chose was flight. I wouldn't want to fight a possum, and I doubt a possum would fight me. I think they know they would lose.

When I got home I put the umbrella away and just hung out in the yard, stepping under trees and shaking their branches so water would cascade down the leaves and soak into my skin as a shower of flower petals rained down on me

There was a steady stream of water flying off the roof, dancing in the wind

I stuck my head under it and felt the water seep into my scalp and run down my back

Then I just enjoyed feeling the rain on my face and arms

Wished I could have taken my shirt off but I was too scared someone might look outside and see me (at 2:30 am)

Anyway

10/10 experience I highly reccomend
