this fic by my beloved @mintsugalab is so very cute, I can’t not share it with you guys 💜 it made my day a lot sweeter, so go check it out and leave some love🥲
idiots - min yoongi x reader
Tumblr media
genre/tags: the most disgusting of fluff, seriously, slight hint of angst but really, mostly just fluff; friends to lovers, reader has never been in a relationship, first time kiss, reader has a crush on yoongi, lots of awkwardness
pairing: min yoongi/reader
word count: 2,8k
a/n: okay so, I had a VERY long break from writing and this is the first thing I actually finished since then so it’s definitely not the best. And definitely cliché lol. (It was literally supposed to be a really short drabble to get me out of the writer’s block but oh well, somehow it became almost 3 words - I blame yoongi for this honestly, lately he just looks to good not to write stories about him). So yeah, hope you enjoy 😅
Tumblr media
“So you’re telling me that you’ve literally never even kissed anyone?” he asked, repositioning himself on the sofa, turning his face into your direction, a slightly shocked expression decorating his features.
“Hey, it’s not like it’s my fault! And I did not tell you this, just so you could judge me, you promised you wouldn’t do that!” you answered his question, a mix of anger and embarrassment visible on your face as you avoided his gaze.
You certainly didn’t expect your evening to take this turn. It started pretty innocently, just as many other evenings before that. You two would hang out, order a takeaway and pretend to watch a movie, when in fact, you always ended up talking about everything that has happened in your lives since your last meeting, totally not paying attention to what was happening on the screen. These evenings became some sort of little tradition for either of you, as well as an important part of your friendship. You especially enjoyed them, because Yoongi, despite his sarcastic and grumpy demeanour, was the best friends you’ve ever had. Many would say that it’s a bit of an overstatement, considering your friendship haven’t lasted very long, but you didn’t remember the last time you’ve felt that comfortable with someone.
You trusted him with all your problems… well, almost all of them. There was only one issue, that you absolutely couldn’t tell him.

So um I know it’s quiet around here and the truth is I don’t find inspiration to write bts fics at the moment, but if you’re into stranger things, I started this lil side blog @ficsaregettingstranger and if you’d like to check it out, that would make me really happy 🙃
This doesn’t mean the end of this blog tho. I actually have some ideas and plenty of unfinished drafts but I’ll come back when I’m ready 💜 and I hope you’re all doing fine :)

My comfort - chapter 23: finally together & epilogue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jin’s phone was slipping out of his hands when the door to his room was forcefully opened.
"What the-" he started blurting out when he discovered Yoongi’s furious red face in this door frame.
They hadn’t talked in a week, only cold glares and a lot of huffs had been in the air when those two were in the same room.
Jin quickly grabbed his phone, hoping not to embarrass himself because once again, he was stalking your Instagram profile for hours.
"Oh, it’s you."
"Yeah, hyung, you bet it’s me." Yoongi responded, voice only resembling the angry look on his face.
"What’s going on? You’re talking to me again?"
"Yeah well, you force me to! I just came to tell you you’re an idiot!”
"Excuse me?"
Jin let his phone sink again, now actually looking shocked by Yoongi’s blatant honesty.
"Still not figuring out things with y/n? That is so stupid. Actually, the two of you are idiots! I don’t get it. Was all of this lying and the pain for nothing?"
Yoongi sounded genuinely pissed off, showing more emotion than when Jin had told him about you.
It was confusing to Jin, more than anything else. The mood between the two young men was so heated, they didn’t even hear the pertinent ringing of the door bell.
Your index was consistently pushing the little button next to the boys’ apartment door. It had been a long time since something had felt so urgent to you. Although it wasn’t like time would take away your chance to talk to Jin, it had already felt like an infinity since you had stopped talking at all.
Finally, after a couple of minutes of ringing and knocking, someone finally opened the door to you.
"Y/n, hi!"
Namjoon was clearly surprised to see you. Once the surprise faded, a small smile dug - dimple into his cheeks.
"So are you here for Seokjin or for Yoongi? None of my business, actually. But they’re both in there anyways."
He pointed at Jin’s room and left you to it, left you with a dozen questions when you also noticed their voices. On quiet feet, you approached the room, waiting at the corner of the door frame while you listened.
"I’m super confused now." Jin said, his voice was mellow but there was a little desperation mixed into his tone. "I thought you and her… your date…"
"Hyung!" Yoongi exclaimed out of his breath as if he had just let off a lot of steam before. "Me and her, that was off once you two decided to be more than a one night stand. Let’s face it. I don’t know what you did to her, and I pray to the gods that I’ll never get to know, but apparently you gave her something I never could. And then you just waste that potential… maybe you don’t think it was serious enough with her to even try, but it just makes me fucking furious that you guys didn’t use your chances."
With the raise of Yoongi’s voice, Jin felt something coil inside of him. And he came back at Yoongi in a tone just as infuriated as it was desperate.
"Not serious enough? Excuse me, Yoongi but you’ve got no idea what you’re talking about."
"Then tell me."
Yoongi on the other hand knew that this was where he had to have Jin in order to push his buttons enough for him to finally take action.
"I lost my whole heart to her! I was fucking ready to try, I was as serious as I could have been, I even dumped Yuri for her, but then you came back around and… somehow I feel like you will always be between us."
You, still lurking around the corner, felt a sting in your heart. You understood where Jin was coming from but he couldn’t have been more wrong.
And Yoongi seemed to feel the same. Though you were sure he felt sorry for his hyung, he didn’t stop to provoke him.
"Oh please.. I’m not the one between anybody here. You’re building up walls on your own. And that’s fucking cowardly."
"Oh shut up." Seokjin spat back.
"It is. All of this was screaming coward to me. Not having the balls to tell me about you and y/n, not telling Yuri, but now just hiding away and sulking, that has to be the top of it all, hyung. And maybe you don’t care enough about her then."
"Fuck you, Yoongi! What the actual hell is wrong with you, coming here to fuck me over? I don’t care? I DON‘T CARE? I care too much which is why I gave her space instead of pouring my heart out to her. Because all I wanted was for y/n to be happy, even if that means I’m not. They say you should let go what you love, and that’s what I did."
"Love?" you mouthed under your breath and the pause of silence inside the room confirmed that the two young men had heard that word too.
"Yeah, you’ve heard right. I think it could be love."
There was a creak, like Jin’s mattress was giving in. Yoongi had probably sat down next to his friend.
"That saying about letting go… that’s not appropriate for this situation. You say you love Y/n, then what are you waiting for?"
"I can’t. I think I need to let go because she wants me to."
"That’s not true."
The strong impulse triggered by Jin’s false assumption had sent a force through you to finally enter the room and reveal yourself.
Once Jin noticed you, his gaze changed. His eyes grew wide and round, two plump lips popped open, just for them to close again, and for his eyes to blink in disbelief.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, unsure of whether to be glad to see you or not.
“I needed to talk to you.”
"I think my job here is done." Yoongi mumbled. He gave his hyung‘s shoulder a firm squeeze and then sneaked out. All without you breaking your gaze from Jin, you took Yoongi's place. Silence took over while this little glimpse of hope flared up in Jin's heart – hope that you and him somehow managed to work things out, even after everything that had been said and after all these times you had hurt not only other people but also yourself.
At the same time, he tried to contain this hope as it had fooled him before.
“Sorry I eavesdropped.” You then began, just for him to blurt out with what didn't make sense to him.
“I thought you wanted a clear cut.”
His voice sounded so incredibly hurt that it resounded in your ears, leaving a lump in your throat.
“I know I said that. It was stupid and I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I was just so disappointed.”
“Yeah I was too. I mean, everything was going well and then you suddenly rowed back, accused me of getting back to Yuri. You didn't even hear me out. I felt so shut out all of the sudden and I just didn't get how that happened. How did we even get here?”
“It was all a big misunderstanding.”
You looked over to him, eyes had been tied to your lap before, and caught the sight of a tear running down Jin's cheek. It was like that tear spoke to you although Seokjin didn't verbally say a word.
You automatically intertwined one of your hands with his to make him look up and meet your gaze.
“What you said before about Yoongi being between us, that's not true.”
He seemed relieved for a moment, yet far from feeling genuine peace.
“Then why can't we figure things out?”
You thought, then spoke the first thing that came to your mind.
“I guess we're both not the best at saying what we feel and what we want.”
That made him laugh a little.
“Yeah, probably not.”
Finally, he was able to look you in the eyes. With that, the tiny moment of worrylessness on his features vanished and his expression became serious again.
“About Yuri...”
“I know. I talked to her. You know I really thought you went back to her and that all I was to you was a fun distraction."
"Y/n," Jin began, but your glare told him to let you speak.
"I know this isn’t true now. I came here as fast as I could."
Carefully, Jin dared to intertwine your second pair of hands.
“I'm glad you did. Truly.”
“So what shall we do now?”
“Well, what do you want?”
Again, there was the question in the room. This time, you felt like an answer had never been easier. It had never been as obvious as then that you wanted this with him. The full on relationship, with all the laughs, all the tears, all the fights and all of the firsts that were about to happen in the future.
"I don’t want you to let go of me, Seokjin. I want you to stay," you said loud and clear, trying hard to make your voice steady while your body began to shake. “I've heard what you said before, you know... About how this could be love.”
Jin's face became bright red remembering you've heard him talk his true feelings in front of Yoongi.
“And I think I do love you already.”
“What?”
“I'm actually pretty sure of it.”
“Y/n–“
“But this is not a one way street.” you interrupted him again, “It's also about what you want.”
He didn’t even think for a long moment until the answer he had waited to give you spilled out of him.
“I want to be with you in the closest way possible. Like fully committed, fully exclusive. That's all.”
You brimmed with joy at his response, only then realizing that he had been looking at your lips with the most endearing expression of yearning you’d seen on him ever.
A smile, then two lips nibbling on the corner of his mouth for a peck. Instantly, Jin felt shivers on his neck.
“So this is it then? Just us finally being together?”
You nodded, smiling as you stole another kiss from his lips.
“Sounds like a pretty good end of all this drama to me. And I'm glad to finally tell you how madly I'm in love with you, Jin. So so in love.”
Jin was overwhelmed as a wave of bliss washed over him. He couldn’t do anything but kiss you, his lips captivating yours in the gentlest yet most dedicated manner possible.
And you went all in, for the kiss, for this relationship, for whatever the future held for you.
Epilogue – Happy Ever After
Tumblr media
“So, Y/n, we've made a final check in with sound earlier and everything for the show should be set now. The team was asking if you want us to stay longer tonight to give us a round of feedback after the show for everything that'll follow in the coming weeks, or...?”
You tapped your assistant on the shoulder, gave her a proud smile in reassurance. It was the first time you had let her manage the whole process of preparing a charity concert of HYBE's most popular groups.
She had been incredibly nervous even though you knew she had planned every detail according to plan months before the actual concert.
“No, I don't think that's necessary. To be honest, me and Jin are going straight to the airport after their performance. I trust you completely with everything. And I'm pretty confident you'll replace me perfectly during the coming TXT tour. Don't worry too much about it, okay?”
Relieved, your assistant exhaled and allowed you to enclose her in a friendly hug.
“I really have no idea how we will cope without you.”
“You'll do great. I have no doubts. And if there's anything super urgent, just call.”
She huffed, knowing very well she won't call you during your well-deserved romantic getaway with Seokjin after almost a year of working non-stop.
“If I may protest here, please don't call.”
Jin's voice caused your heart to almost jump out. It still did after all this time. Every first time of each day when you saw him, you still felt like doing a happy dance.
You turned around to face him. His makeup and hair were already done for the show, making him look like an actual fairytale prince (although you loved the pure version of him that you got to see the most, even more).
“And you're leading my team since...?”
“Don't worry, Seokjin, I won't call. If chaos breaks out, I'll let Y/n come back and fix it.” your assistant joked and ultimately left you two to it. As everyone on the whole staff team, your assistant was undoubtedly endeared by Jin, which is why they very often joined forces to tell you you should work less and relax more.
Finally being alone among all of the other people in the room, Jin drew you towards him, looping his arms around your waist to pull you into a kiss.
“Do I have to scold you?” he then asked with a serious expression while one if his hands rested on your cheek. Your arms were knotted around his waist. “You promised me not to work during our vacation.”
“I knoooow but she's so nervous. I just wanna help.”
“She's gonna do fine. You keep saying that yourself. And the world won't end just because you're away for three weeks.”
“Hm...” you simply replied and leaned into his embrace, feeling the muscles beneath his stage outfit. “I wouldn't mind a little sweet scolding, though.”
Jin puckered up his eyebrows. You only ever said something so suggestive in the most unexpected moments when it surprised him. And he loved how your mind worked.
“If we only had a bathroom to disappear into right now... But this stage outfit is too complicated to take off.”
“I could try.” you mumbled against his neck pressing your lips onto his collar bone while his grazed over your hair.
“Later, okay? Although actually... you might be the one to scold me.”
You let go of him and crossed your arms.
“Why?”
He frowned and nervously scratched over his arm.
“You like my makeup today?”
“Of course I do, you look absolutely stunning as always. But what does that have to do with me scolding you?”
“Well, Yuri was in charge of it today.”
You felt something pulling on your heartstrings. Although life had been nearly perfect over this past year, you and your ex best friend hadn't spoken ever since.
“Yuri? Oh...”
“Yeah.”
You didn't mind her doing Jin's makeup. Not at all. It was more of the fact that you missed her that made you feel sentimental. Jin noticed the sad glow in your eyes and immediately came to hug you again.
“How is she?”
“She says hi. I actually don't think she's mad anymore.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. She told me about some guys she was dating and she actually asked how you are.”
“Oh well, that's nice.”
“Right? I thought so too.”
“Oh my god, you two are really glued together when you're in one room, aren't you?”
It was Jungkook who interrupted your conversation. The boys had just entered the backstage room a few moments after Jin had.
“Jealous?” Jin asked in response. Everyone knew he loved to show off you and your relationship. That's also why the boys gave him plenty of opportunities to do exactly that. And it was always Yoongi who teased their oldest hyung in return.
“Nah, had that. Been there.”
You never really know if it bugged Jin for Yoongi to say such things, but if it did, he did a great job not showing it. And it was also obvious that Yoongi wasn't being snappy for any specific reason other than he liked to tease. He had actually come to terms with you and Jin quite quickly after your official relationship announcement.
“Oh and hyung, when we give our ending mends today, could you please restrain from making it all about Y/n like last time?” Namjoon added fuel to his friends' bickering.
“Can't promise that.” Jin shrugged and you hugged him even tighter.
“I thought it was cute.”
“And I meant every word.”
A kiss flew and landed on the tip of your nose, making you giggle in the aftermath.
“That sound is so addicting, you've got no idea.”
The rasp in Jin's voice mirrored the weakness he felt when his legs were turning to jelly.
“Well, I hope it is because you're gonna hear a lot more of it for the rest of your life.”
“The rest of my life? Are you sure about that?”
You united your hands in his neck to pull him onto your lips once again.
“Not a single doubt.”

my comfort - chapter 22: The Truth.
a/n: eeeeeh yeah hi! after such a long time, here is chapter number 22 FINALLY if someone still cares 😅
Tumblr media
"Hi!"
Yoongi greeted you with a brief kiss on your cheek. A gesture that would have once caused the heat in your cheeks to rise now was barely noticeable as too many thoughts about someone else circled in your mind.
But you managed to bring forth a silent "hey."
Yoongi made a pause as if he waited for you to say something else but you had no idea what you were supposed to talk about.
“You look beautiful as ever.“ he then said sweetly.
“Thanks.“
No girly giggles, no tingles in your stomach, not even a smile made its way onto your features.
A date with Yoongi had been what you had dreamed of weeks ago - a new chance, fresh start, but even if you tried to focus on him - who you’d once loved with all your heart - your thoughts kept drifting away the whole evening.
He did all the talking. Which also wasn’t natural, but again, you were too mentally occupied to bother. You didn’t even remember how you got to the restaurant or which part of the city you were in. And the first time, Yoongi really caught your attention was when his cold hand touched yours on the restaurant table.
“Y/n?“
You jumped a little, then realized that a waiter was standing at your table, probably eager to know what you wanted to order. If only you had read the menu.
“Pasta for you? Your favorite?“ Yoongi tried his best to assist you.
“Uhm. Yeah, sure, I’ll take that. Thanks.“
It wasn’t like you were particularly hungry anyways.
“Alright, I’ll be back with your dishes in a few.“ The waiter collected the menus and left you two alone again, leaving you under Yoongi’s critical stare. It was a look on him you couldn’t bear.
“I’m sorry. I’m a bit rattled today. I took some antihistamines against hay fever and they’re always making me a bit dizzy.“
“It’s October, Y/n. And you’re allergic to spring trees.“
Shit. He’d caught you there, but it was also a really dumb lie.
“Good point. Maybe I should stop taking them then.“
Yoongi leaned back in his chair, drove his hand over his hair that he’d styled back from his forehead. A few months ago, that simple motion would have made your knees go to jelly. And you kind of wished it would still have the same effect. Although things used to be shit when Yoongi and you ended, it seemed easier than what you were feeling now.
“So when are you gonna tell me what’s really going on?“
His eyes had this way of seeing through you, through everything you wanted to conceal, so you did your best to lie. But your best was fairly very pathetic.
“I’m just tired. You know, after touring for such a long time, it takes a while to adjust.“
“Alright, yeah I get that.“
Already, the waiter was back with your food. And you could barely believe that Yoongi had bought your excuse.
You felt a slight sense of relief, enough to make you pick up your spoon and consider eating a few bites. It would have been the first proper meal for you that day.
But then Yoongi added “And when were you about to tell me about you and Jin’s liaison?“
There was a loud ching when your spoon dropped on your plate.
And even though you were in shock, you also felt more stir inside of you than you had since the last show.
“I- wh- You.. He…- How do you…“
“He told me.“
Tumblr media
When Jin entered Yoongi‘s room, the younger man was occupied with his own reflection, trying with the utmost effort to part his black hair in the way it looked best.
Although people used to think Yoongi didn’t care much about those things, he really could spend hours with his appearance when it was an important occasion.
Immediately, Jin‘s guilty conscience took the best of him. But he knew there was no turning around, no hesitating and no more pretending. That was the moment to just be honest with his friend. It was the last chance to tell the truth before he’d lose him, if it wasn’t too late already.
He knocked his fist softly against the door frame so Yoongi would take notice, just to be confronted with a warm smile that made his deepest core ache.
"Hey hyung, what’s up?"
Jin couldn’t even look at him, knowing that this open smile would turn into devastation in a minute. And rightfully so.
He had to sit down on Yoongi‘s chair, otherwise his knees would have given in.
Yoongi sensed his hyung‘s gloom. It was hard not to feel or see it. He let his comb sink and turned around to grant Seokjin his full attention.
"What’s wrong?"
"I need to talk to you about something."
“Given that you sound quite serious, can it wait until after my date with Y/n or do I need to sit down for this right now?“
“It’s um…“ Seokjin’s throat felt tight all of the sudden. “It’s actually about Y/n.“
“Okay… Now you got me hooked. What about her?“
Jin rubbed his sweaty hands against one another, fighting for words.
“Okay, but before I tell you, let me just say that we never meant to hurt you and that we didn’t plan to go as far as we did. It just kind of happened.“
“Yeah, now let me know what it is, otherwise you’re not making sense at all.“
“Okay, so I guess the best way is just to rip off the band aid. So Y/n and I - we had something. And I don’t talk about a one time thing, not even a two or three time thing… We’ve had a thing going on during tour.“
Jin noticed Yoongi’s grip tighten around the comb he was holding.
“A thing as in sex.“ he said bitterly.
“Yes. That’s how it started but then… We caught feelings, Yoongi. Well, I don’t know if she really did, but I sure did. And I’m sorry.“
Yoongi hesitated for a moment, perhaps thinking about how to react. And the fact that he remained relatively calm and cool was frightening.
“And you’re telling me this now right before I have a date with her because what? You expect me to break all of this off again?“
“No.“ Jin rushed to say. Although a part of him of course wanted Yoongi not to go on a date with you. But he had no right to ask for that. “I’m telling you because you deserve to know.“
Nodding, Yoongi turned back around to focus on his hair again, barely noticeable that his hand around the comb was a little firmer than before.
“Alright.“
“I’m really, really sorry, Yoongi. Honestly, the first time it happened, we were just both so hurt. And we swore it wouldn’t happen again.“
“But it did.“
“Yeah…“
“Okay. Something else?“
Jin sighed. Obviously, this couldn’t be the end of the conversation, but it was strange. He didn’t know what he had expected: Yoongi to burst out in anger? To maybe even hit him? Well, frankly, he would have preferred that over this contained, passive aggressive ignorance Yoongi was confronting him with.
“Well, isn’t there something you wanna ask me, or something I can do to show you how sorry I am?“
The younger man finally put away the comb and faced his friend, nothing but cold disappointment in his eyes.
“What should I ask you? How it felt knowing this the whole time while I was busy pondering about my feelings for Y/n? It didn’t seem to feel that bad for you, considering that you’re only telling me now. Do you even regret it?“
Jin remained silent, causing Yoongi to let out an indignant laugh.
“Wow. Okay, you don’t regret it.“
“No, Yoongi, I regret lying to you, obviously. You’re one of my best friends. But if you’re asking whether I regret getting close to Y/n, I can’t say I do.“
Yoongi took a moment to just punish Seokjin with a long stare.
“You’re in love with her.“ he ultimately pointed out what Jin had not phrased but felt this whole time.
“Yes.“
Yoongi took a deep, mind-clearing breath and it made Jin hope for some kind of empathy. That hope vanished when Yoongi took his phone and jacket from the surface of his bed.
“I’m still going on that date. It’s on Y/n to decide whom she wants or not.“
That was fair. Jin hadn’t expected Yoongi to drop you out of pure friendship reasons. After all, he hadn’t been following the basic rules of friendship at all over these past few months.
“That’s fair. But where does that leave us?“
Yoongi’s frown following Jin’s question made him feel dumb for asking at all.
“You don’t expect me to forgive you right away, do you?“
“Of course not… But-“
“Good.“ Yoongi cut him off, “Because I won’t. I’m fucking disappointed in you. The only reason why I’m not freaking out is because I want to go on that date and I hope I still stand a chance against you.“
It sounded brutal but Jin also figured that was what he deserved. So he just waited until Yoongi had left, just for Namjoon to wait for him outside Yoongi’s room with a bag of crisps and a bottle of soju.
Tumblr media
“You did plan on telling me, or didn’t you?“
“Well yeah… Eventually. But it wasn’t easy, I…“
Your ears felt hot and your stomach was even more queasy than it had been before.
“I can imagine. But to be fair, it also was kind of obvious that you’re not into me anymore, so at least you didn’t pretend.“
Yoongi sounded hurt and that made something inside of you crack and shatter. You had been in love with Yoongi for so long and you’d always care for him, so knowing that you caused him pain was a terrible feeling.
“Yoongi… It’s not like that. It’s not like I’m not into you anymore.“
“Oh please, Y/n… You haven’t been looking at me or listening to me all evening. That glow in your eyes when you used to look at me is gone and every time you smiled at me today, it seemed like you were in utter pain. It couldn’t be more obvious. So you’re into my hyung now. And that’s fine.“
You sighed. Obviously, this whole secret thing was about to blow up eventually. But now that it happened, there was no resolution. You felt a big, fat lump in your throat.
“We broke up. I was devastated. And so was Jin. We just meant to distract each other, to numb each other’s pain. I know this is not an excuse, Yoongi. I’m sorry.“
Yoongi uttered a huffed laugh.
“Y/n. I’m not mad. Not really. And gosh, you don’t have to justify anything in front of me. After all, I was the one breaking up. I just wish you had told me in time.“
Not mad. Somehow that made it even harder to cope with being the liar in this relationship. No matter if broken up or not, Yoongi was so damn pure that it ripped you apart.
“But what was I supposed to tell you? That I have an affair with your best friend but I still have feelings for you so I set myself up for disaster?“
“For example.“ Yoongi confirmed. You just snorted, unable to believe he was being serious.
“You know, I was coming here tonight, hoping that you had something inside your heart left for me. Something more than friendship…“ he added when you were about to protest. At the same time, he took your hand and started to play with it like it was the most interesting and precious thing he’d ever touched. “You know I would have accepted it, right? Being second choice?“
You frowned.
“Second choice? Yoongi, I know I’m not in the position to complain or anything, but you broke up with me. I wasn’t under the impression you wanted to be an option at all.“
He laughed, and it confused you even more than it upset you.
“What’s there to laugh about?“
“You really haven’t realized that was a bullshit excuse.“
“Wh-at?“ you stuttered.
He pushed the sleeve of your shirt up a little to reveal your wrist and the little, tiny scar on it and stroked over the faded line.
“Remember you got this the day before I broke up?“
You shrugged.
“Yeah. The paparazzi mob at the restaurant. But please don’t change the topic.“
Wrinkles of worry appeared on Yoongi’s forehead. His features became serious and substantially broken.
“You got injured. Because of being with me. I couldn’t let that happen again.“
You began to understand. That was the real reason for the breakup.
You withdrew your hand, rubbing away a tear from your cheek with the back of it.
“You’re not serious, Min Yoongi. You didn’t break up because of one dumb mob incident at a restaurant.“
“I knew you wouldn’t understand. That’s why I haven’t told you. But for me, that was major. I mean, what if it hadn’t been a restaurant, what if it had been an award show, a church after our wedding, or a hospital after you found out you’re pregnant…I would have never been able to forgive myself.”
His voice shattered and you felt more tears coming to surface. You wiped those away in an instant.
“God Yoongi… If I had known…“
“Yeah but it doesn’t matter anymore now, does it? Cause you’re in love with Jin.“
You sighed, pointlessly stirring around your pasta.
“You’re not even denying it.“ Yoongi almost sounded amused, and that was confusing and frustrating for you.
“Well, no. But does it really matter? It’s not like it matters to him since he’s back to mingling with Yuri anyway. And I’m not someone to mess that up for them.“
“Yuri? You think that… Oh you know what, that’s none of my business. You and him, you guys have to get your shit together on your own.“
You understood that he wouldn’t get involved. It was probably better this way.
“But do you plan on telling Yuri, by the way?“
“Well, if he doesn’t, I guess I have to.“
“You do. You owe her that. And from my experience, I can only tell you that it hurts more the longer you wait.“
You nodded, aware that he allured to himself being hurt. Although he didn’t appear to be.
“Why don’t you even seem mad about all of this?“
Yoongi shrugged, taking a bite from his steak while he was coming up with an answer.
“I was mad. Especially when Jin told me earlier. But I guess seeing how shitty both of you feel about all of this makes me feel better. And it’s not like I’ve been the perfect person to you either, so… It’s truce.“
You tilted your head, pouting.
“Truce is a horrible way to express it.“
“Maybe. But the point is, I decided to be the greater person and not be sulky with you. I will sulk in private, in my studio and produce a few masterpieces while doing that.“
You rolled your eyes, although he was probably right.
“So are you gonna stir through your pasta for another hour while we sit in silence or should I walk you home?“
Tumblr media
Yoongi came back home from his date with you and walked straight past Jin and Namjoon in the living room. And the rollercoaster of thoughts in Jin’s mind started rolling.
How had the date been? It was a good sign that Yoongi had come home alone. But he also didn’t seem particularly troubled… which he would have been if you told him that it was over. Wasn’t it so?
Not knowing just drove Jin crazy.
And knowing that he also couldn’t just ask Yoongi was what drove him entirely nuts.
“Why don’t you just pick up your phone and ask her yourself?“ Namjoon suggested, able to read Jin’s mind by the way he had looked after Yoongi.
Jin puckered his lips, shaking his head.
“I can’t do that.“
“And why not?“
“Because.“
That was lame reasoning and Namjoon didn’t need to point that out. It was just lover’s pride, stubbornness and insecurity holding Jin (or you) back from communicating properly. But as Yoongi had told you, that was on you and Jin, no one else.

my comfort - chapter 21 -Radio Silence
my comfort - masterlist
a/n: jin is talking finally :o but you know the hardest part is still to come. so it's a long chapter with not much happening but Jin finally opening up, which I love. hope you feel the same :3
Tumblr media
After the final show, there was nothing for Jin but radio silence. He had delivered the best performance he was capable of while you, and the way you guys had separated, still ghosted around in his mind, but once he changed into something more casual than his stage outfit and the boys went back to their apartment, he headed straight to his room, shut the door, pulled the blanket over his head and stayed there.
It took almost exactly 18 hours for Namjoon to realize that this wasn’t the usual post-tour fatigue that bestowed all of them after being away for so long. There had to be more to it. And a part of him had sensed a change in Jin’s manner ever since he had seen you two ignoring each other backstage yesterday.
So whatever was on Jin’s mind, he felt like it was his duty to find out, not only as his leader, but also as one of his closest friends.
Namjoon didn’t bother to knock. The boys had given up on that ages ago; with the exception of when someone had a visitor and Jin was actually the last one to complain when someone just bursted into his room.
He couldn’t see his hyung at first, as he was huddled up under a mess of his blanket and pillows. But then something moved, had it been on purpose or because Seokjin had to switch position.
"Hey hyung. You haven’t eaten today, have you?"
Joon sat down on the side of the bed. A head popped up from under the blanket. With a face puffy and lips even more pouty than usual, Jin examined the content of the bowl Namjoon had brought - some watery brown rice and pieces of what looked like the attempt of an omelette.
"And you want me to eat that?"
Namjoon tilted his head, rolling his eyes in annoyance. "Well, you better do unless you get up to make yourself your own dinner."
Jin huffed, yet he sat up, blanket still around his shoulders while he started to eat.
"Except for the egg shells you left in there, it’s not that bad."
Despite the bit of criticism, Namjoon was pretty proud of himself. Jin knew that. That's why he didn't tell him that he forgot to put salt in the eggs.
He was too lazy to interact anyways.
But Namjoon wouldn't let go until he knew what was going on. That was also something Jin was aware of.
"So?" the younger man asked when Jin was about to finish his meal.
"What? It’s nothing. I’m just exhausted."
Namjoon forcefully took the bowl away from his hyung, so that he couldn't pretend to be busy eating.
“Yah, I thought you wanted me to eat!” Jin complained, knowing inside how pointless that was.
"Come on. You know how this works, we either talk about it now or I’ll send Yoongi to annoy you until you speak up. You know how much he enjoys that."
Jin sat up with a straight back, head hanging lowly though, as he avoided to look at his friend.
"I don’t think Yoongi would want to stay in one room with me for longer than 10 seconds after I told you guys what’s up."
Namjoon took a deep breath, the little hairs in his neck stood up in alarm as he sensed he got closer to the core of what was going on.
"Okay… so let me take a guess. This has something to do with y/n."
Every bit of mystery on Jin's perfect features vanished to surprise.
“How do you know? Did you see us? Ah, you know what, forget it.”
Jin felt the need to crawl back under his blanket and hide, but knowing that Namjoon wouldn't leave, he left his face to peek out.
"What is it? Did you catch her with someone else?"
"Well I guess you could say that.“
Namjoon blinked in shock.
"Wow that’s unexpected. Who is it?"
There was a silent moment, not a long one, but long enough for Jin to row back and remain quiet about you.
"Look, it doesn’t matter anyway. It looks like she’s going on a date with Yoongi tonight, so... I guess Y/ngi are back for Round 2. Great for them."
They had known each other for too long for Namjoon to overhear the obvious frustration resounding in Jin's tone.
"Wait, is this jealousy in your voice?"
Jin felt his ears flashing hot. He was busted!
"Forget about it."
"Dude."
“What?”
“HYUNG!"
"Drop it."
"WHAT is going on?"
There was a bang of the bedsprings as Jin banged his head on the mattress. Namjoon simply let him, waiting patiently for a confession. And that came shortly after.
"We’ve had a thing during tour, okay? And now I think I’m in love although I wasn’t supposed to fall for her and she thinks I’m still into Yuri and besides she’s also dating Yoongi again and it’s all just… fucked."
"You what? When? How? You… the whole tour? How did we not…? And you…? Ok I need to know everything. When did that start?"
"The first time was like the day Yuri and I broke up…"
Namjoon frowned, still processing what he just learned.
"And when Yoongi broke up with Y/n…"
"Yeah."
With every further bit of information, Jin saw his younger friend's face losing all composure.
"Hyung, seriously? It has been going on since then?"
"Well, not really. Okay I’ll explain it to you from the start, but you’ve got to promise me not to hate me."
"Go ahead."
Namjoon sat back and waited and listened. And although it was everything but easy, Jin was glad to finally talk about it.
"So yeah after the breakups, we went to a bar together. Just two broken hearts, lonely and hurt… you know and then I was making a joke about revenge sex and it somehow got serious."
"So you fell in love with her because of revenge sex?"
"No. Ugh, that wasn’t it. I wasn’t in love with her from the start. Actually, we both felt horrible afterwards, of course we did. We betrayed our friends, but I wasn’t in love. At least I think so. To be honest with you, the first and second time, it was really just about a way of comfort and distraction for both of us…"
"And the third time?"
"Yeah, the third time… back then I would have sworn it’s nothing more and just really, really good and passionate distraction but to be honest, I think I had already caught feelings then."
Namjoon finally began to understand. Nobody can change their feelings. And it somehow sounded... logical? Almost like these feelings between Jin and you had been a ticking time bomb from the moment on you both got your hearts broken.
"So these few times… except number one, we were already on tour? And how did it even happen again?"
"No the second time was after that really cringeworthy meeting we had after the breakup, you know where Yoongi was behaving like a douchebag. And I don’t know, I just wanted to know if she was alright after this, and then it just kind of happened again."
"Wow."
"Yeah… and then we made this pact about having an affair while being on tour."
“I see. And when did you realize it was more than that?"
"Realize, like really realize?"
The truth was, Jin had been thinking about this exact question before. But it was hard to say. Maybe there had been something inside of him that wanted you more than just in his bed all along.
"Yeah."
"Hm… I guess in Newark. We got closer with each time we met, you know. It got more intimate, more emotional with every time we…"
"Yeah I get it.” Namjoon cut him off. He certainly wasn't prude either, but he didn't need the details about your affair. “So Newark?"
Jin nodded.
"At least that was the first time I got really jealous of Yoongi. We’ve had an argument because she was going on this kind of date with him. And I was not okay with it. Not at all. I couldn’t stop thinking about them all evening, and that’s when I realized I don’t want to be just an affair for her. And something also changed after Newark."
"How?"
"More talking, more cuddling… staying over night. And then I asked her for an actual date in Amsterdam and it was out of this world.”
“Amsterdam..” Namjoon remarked. “We all thought you were getting a cold.”
“Well yeah, I had to have an excuse.”
Now that the leader thought about it, Jin had seemed very joyful since Sao Paulo, and Amsterdam was one of the places where it really stuck out to him.
“You know, people thought we were a couple and I enjoyed it so much. At one point Y/n was almost dancing in the dim glow of the street lights at night and her eyes were glowing and my heart kind of jumped. I just thought I want this woman to be by my side until I get old. Like in an actual, serious way."
No doubt Seokjin was in love. Namjoon had always been wishing for his group members to be able to talk like that about a person one day. They were all deserving of love. But to be frank, this situation was tricky. After all, you were still Yoongi's ex.
"And what happened yesterday?"
Jin's expression became serious and desperate again.
"In Osaka, we agreed to make up our mind about what both of us wanted this to be, and how we continue. The thing is, as happy as we were, the fact that Yuri and Yoongi didn’t know was hovering over us like a big fat gray cloud this whole time. Telling them would probably mean the end to our most valuable friendships…"
He waited for a reaction, but Namjoon simply kept listening.
"So we went back home and thought… and I was so sure she was coming to the same conclusion.”
"But?"
"But then I saw her being flirty with Yoongi yesterday and she accused me of meeting up with Yuri that morning and like, we totally blew up and then she dropped this little info about Yoongi asking her out… so yeah, I guess I was wrong."
Silence again. But Seokjin's gaze was pleading his friend to say something. Mainly because he didn't know what to do.
"Okay I get that you’re hurt. But what I don’t understand is… why did you meet Yuri yesterday?"
Jin huffed a laugh.
"To tell her we’re done. Ultimately. And that I found someone new."
Namjoon shook his head. And yeah, now Jin also realized how dumb he sounded. "But then your whole argument is a misunderstanding. Why didn’t you just tell y/n?"
"I don’t know, Namjoonah. She just dropped she was about to see Yoongi today and I blacked out. But she seemed pretty happy with that as well so I guess, time for me to hide myself here until my heart’s feeling okay again."
Jin had obviously hoped to hear objections. And when those didn't come, he started to doubt whether it had been the right thing to say something at all.
"You think I’m the worst hyung ever, don’t you?"
Namjoon was quick to ban this train of thought.
"No. Not at all actually. I think you and y/n that’s makes a lot of sense."
"You do?"
Joon had to prevent himself from smiling, being faced with his hyung's big, genuine eyes.
"Yeah. You’re good for each other. Remember back in São Paulo? When you took care of me and I said you’d make great parents together? I was wasted but I meant that."
"Oh… well I didn’t expect you to say that."
Obviously, he didn't. Namjoon wasn't a specialist but he knew enough to recognize that Jin was being hard on himself.
"You thought I’d judge. But that’s because you judge yourself. And there we come to the critical point…"
Jin already knew what he was about to say, and it was the last thing he wanted to hear.
"You’ve got to tell Yoongi."
Jin exhaled a long, liberating sigh.
"I know."
"Yeah and you better do it now because he’s getting ready for the date with y/n."
Namjoon grabbed Jin's shoulder and tried to drag him up, which was harder than he had imagined.
"But what if he blames her then?” Jin objected. “I don’t want to screw it up when they’re actually on their way back to being a dream couple."
"That’s on him and her to decide… and Yoongi cares too much about y/n to blame her for anything… just don’t be a coward and go. With every second you wait, there’s more damage done."

my comfort - chapter 20 - Seoul
A/n: almost made it in time yayy! I have to say I struggled a bit with this chapter but anyways now it’s out and I hope you’re at least ok with it 😅
You spent the two days until the Seoul final thinking. But no meditation, no google search result and not a single love advice in any forum could tell you what to wanted.
To be fair, you already knew that only you could know what your heart really wanted. But how were you supposed to listen to your heart when there was a long tail attached to that decision?
It was on Friday evening then, the evening right before the last show, when you finally realized that all you had been thinking of these past two days was Jin. So there was only one option. And you hoped he would tell you that he had come to the same conclusion the next day.
When you thought about seeing Jin again, even if you had just been away from each other for two days, made your heart flutter. You had missed him, every fiber of your body had missed him. But that realization made you happy and you couldn't wait to tell him exactly that.
There was only one thing left to do. And that was maybe the hardest part of all.

The next day – Seoul Final
You entered the backstage facilities without a word, ignoring everyone, even the boys and heading straight to your team who were going through your usual checklist.
Jin's gaze followed you, blinking surprisedly. Maybe you hadn't seen him? Maybe you were too busy to look around. But he had secretly hoped to be the first one you ran to that day. So he couldn't avoid that a little disappointment and doubt creeped up in his heart.
You were hurting more than before when Yoongi had still been the one occupying your heart. But it was different. There was not much crying, but a rather hollow feeling. Nothing but a grim sense of anger brewing in your stomach.
Although you hadn't exchanged a word, not even a look, both of you knew there was something in the air. And after twenty minutes of you ignoring him, Jin decided to get some fresh air. You watched him leave and hated the fact that a part of you ached to follow him.
“Hey Y/n.”
It was Yoongi who caused your eyes to leave the door. Surprised to hear him address you, you were even more surprised to note that your heart didn't do summersaults looking into his soft face anymore.
“Hey Yoongi, how are you doing? Last show today. Are you nervous?”
He grinned and wondrously bewitched a smile on your own features as well.
“Ah you know me, I'm a pro. I'm not nervous.”
Giggling, you ruffled through his soft black hair and said “Sure.”
Jin came back to the sight of you and Yoongi laughing together. It was like someone stabbed him right in the chest. Why? Since when? Was that your decision?
No way he would accept being rejected like that. He would respect your decision, sure, but he wanted to hear it from you. If you were about to crush his heart, he wanted the brutal and honest truth being smashed right into his face.
A few snatches of your and Yoongi's conversation flew over to him.
“You look good, by the way.”
You frowned. Yoongi and compliments – two things that barely came as a bunch, but if they did, you knew he was being genuine. And in your hurt state, especially after discovering that Jin was watching, you also didn't mind a little flirting.
“Do I? How come?”
Yoongi shrugged.
“You're always pretty, but something's different. You seem very confident.”
“Hm, well you don't look so bad either, Min Yoongi.”
“Hey Y/n, can I talk to you for a sec?”
As you were busy flirting, Jin had approached you. His voice was normal, but the hunch of stir in his expression satisfied you a little.
“I'm currently busy talking to Yoongi.”
“Yeah, I can see that.” Jin remarked dryly. “But it's pretty urgent. So...”
Yoongi raised his hands in front of his chest and moved.
“No worries, let's talk later. I need to warm up anyways.”
“Alright, see you later.”
You gave him a little flirtatious wave, right before granting Jin a look that was way different and way more indifferent.
“So? What's up?”
“Well, didn't we want to talk?”
Jin tried to strike a much gentler tone, but it only met deaf ears.
“So then talk.”
Jin sighed. What the fuck had happened for you to be like this? Both of you had been so determined to make a decision. But it was like being back in Seoul was making everything that happened while you were away disappear into thin air. And that was painful. That was definitely not what Jin wanted.
“Not here.” He therefore said and grabbed your sleeve to pull you into the little tea kitchen in the backstage area. And although you were fighting it very hardly, you had to admit that this determined behavior did spark a little fire in your lower abdomen.
Jin only let go of your arm when you were alone, both darting furious glances at each other.
“Can you tell me what you think you're doing?”
“I could ask you just the same question.” You responded huffy like a little child.
“Well, I'm not the one flirting wildly with Yoongi.”
You lifted your brows, crossing your arms across your chest.
“Seems like you’re jealous.“
Jin blinked, for a moment at a loss for words. Oh yes, he was jealous. Probably the most jealous he'd ever been. And that scared him a little. He stepped back to give you space and collect himself.
“I’m not. I’m just saying, I don’t want you to fall for him again.“
“Hm okay, just like you stayed away from Yuri this morning?“
You sounded so foreign. So distant. It was actually heartbreaking.
“Why are you like this all of the sudden?”
“Like what?”
“So... cold.”
“Cold? I'm not cold. I'm just done with being not enough.”
“Huh?”
Jin had no idea what you were talking about. And frankly, he doubted you had any idea too. But you were furious enough to ignore the idea that your assumption about him and Yuri could be wrong.
“You know, it's alright that you still have feelings for her. And that you met without telling me. It's not like we're together or anything. I just thought you'd have the decency to tell me about your decision. Also because it doesn't just involve us but also my friendship to Yuri...”
Jin didn't know whether he should laugh or have an outburst. You were so terribly wrong it was hilarious.
“You think I chose her?”
“Yeah and I'm fine with it. That's what we wanted, isn't it? A clear cut after the tour. And actually, Yoongi suggested we'd go out tomorrow tonight to talk everything between us out. So everything's going back to normal, I guess. So I guess we're done.”
Jin tumbled back to lean against one of the kitchen counters.
“We're done? And that's it? That's alright for you?” he asked, squinting his eyes in disbelief.
“Yes. Easy for all of us.”
He probably didn't hear your voice crumble as the sound of his heart falling into pieces was too loud.
“If that's what you really want, I won't be in the way.”
There was one last moment of hesitation, one last moment of a possible return where both of your real desires could have hit the surface. If only one of you had been less stubborn.
But then you were joined by two of the other guys in the kitchen, and you left before Jin could even tell you one last word.

my comfort - chapter 19: Osaka
a/n: soz again for not posting last week, but here i ammm. i really hope this chapter isn't too confusing but everything in italics is kind of a flashback in the beginning. also, we probably don't have soooo many chapters left before the end, but of course there's still the angst to come :3 so enjoy the fluff in this one
also, are you all excited for the two remaining ptd in seoul shows? are you watching in the cinema? It's gonna be 9.45am for me on saturday, what a wonderful morning!!! i really cannot wait
my comfort masterlist
Tumblr media
The door to Jin's room clicked shut and he found himself immediately covered in thousands of kisses, for your lips only to slow down as they reached to form for a longer, passionate union. “I was so happy you came to see the show today.” he purred, voice coarse from singing his heart out was now on to cover you in goosebumps from head to toe.
Osaka had been the last stop before returning to Seoul. And it was also in Osaka that you finally visited one of the shows again. You did not just have to because you and the rest of the team were about to celebrate finishing all shows abroad, you also just wanted to see the concert. After all, you had started working for HYBE and BTS because you loved their music and what they stood for.
As usual, the atmosphere at the concert was one of a kind. Lurking at the side of the stage, you only had to glance at a few faces in the audience to confirm that the boys always managed to make each and every one feel special, and that was in a stadium with literally thousands of other fans. The fact they managed to do that was just remarkable.
There was one part of the show you frankly were a bit afraid of. It was Yoongi's solo stage which had always triggered that little tingle in your stomach, that little spark in your heart. The fact that you could really tell how he put his emotions in every syllable of his songs had always make you fall for him deeply. But this time, something was different.
You could watch without a tear, without any stir or impulse. Yoongi was just there. And he was good, obviously. But it hadn't been him who you ran to hug immediately after the boys got off stage.
It was Jin.
And that for good reason.
Your hands were tightly wrapped around his waist, pressing his broad frame onto you like you never wanted to let go. “You were amazing.”
You had asked yourself how you had never seen it, but that day, seeing Jin at the piano, literally glowing in a dreamy, paralyzing light while his voice and the melody gently espoused your whole heart, made you realize that he was, in fact, ethereal. You got overwhelmed by that sight, that sound and what he did to you. And suddenly something swelled beneath your chest, something you could barely keep from bursting until the show was over, his eyes met yours and you jumped into his arms with an euphoric squeal.
Jin's heart had almost skipped a beat, and your giggles made it hard for him to remember where and who he was. He was just glad to see you, glad to hold you, and glad to – almost – kiss you (but then you had remembered that you weren't alone).
“Congrats to such a successful show. You were so... I don't even have the right words... But you... you're just so freaking beautiful.”
It may have sounded trivial, like just a normal compliment, but in the magic of the moment it amounted a confession.
Noticing the interested looks of some of the other staff members, some of the boys as well, you released the hug, but still held hands, which wasn't uncommon even as friends, but the looks you exchanged were far from friendly.
“Do you have any more plans tonight?” Jin asked innocently, but you knew he must have felt the same anticipating yearning in his lower abdomen that was taking the best of you.
“Quick exchange with the team about the Seoul final, but then... I guess I'm free. You?”
With a satisfied smile, Jin responded.
“Quick shower, that's all.”
“Alrighty.”
None of you needed to say more. You had become good at this communication without actual words. And frankly, you had been spending each free minute together since Paris anyways. So you went to your respective duties, not without Jin secretly planting a kiss on your knuckles when no one was watching, before you finally knocked on his hotel room door later.
Tumblr media
Once you two had parted, bodies still warm from the friction, the tension, that devouring lovemaking, the mood had switched. It had turned silent. Too silent for comfort. The unspeakable was not what you just did but what was about to happen next.
Only minutes ago, you had been as close as humans could be, but now, even if there was just a small space between your two bodies, it felt like you were drifting farther apart with every moment. And that hurt both of you, burned an aching hole in your chests which yearned for nothing but a touch.
“So that was it then? Once we're back in Seoul tomorrow, we go back to normal, just like nothing ever happened?”
Asking something had never felt so heavy, and as the question left your mouth, it was like an invisible rope wrapped around your neck.
There was a faint line appearing between Jin’s brows, voice hollow as he answered.
"That’s what we agreed on in the beginning."
You rolled on your back and huffed, not as much as to express indignation but to let off some of the pressure that had been trying to suffocate you.
Jin put his hand to your cheek softly, just to signalize you he was there, not just physically but mentally. And maybe he also said what he was about to say because there was a ray of hope glowing inside of him.
"Unless you want things to be different…"
Your gaze was fixed on the ceiling. You didn’t want to return to the dark place you were in back in Seoul, back before you left, with a broken heart full of Yoongi and too little confidence to cope with it. But not only that, you also couldn’t go back to what?- treating Jin like a client? A friend? You doubted that that was possible after everything that had happened on tour.
And despite breaking every rule you had set in the beginning of this affair, you had to admit that you had underestimated all of this.
What were the options though? Telling Yuri about you and Jin? Telling Yoongi that all of this was going on behind his back? You didn’t know if you could handle his reaction.
You rolled back to curl up on Jin’s chest. This was too fucking complicated.
So under his gentle strokes over your hair, you choose the cowardly option to ask him first.
"What do you want?"
Jin sighed. He had hoped you wouldn’t do that, but frankly, he probably would have done the same.
To be fair, he had a clear idea of what he wanted. Especially the last few weeks, from the point on you guys started being about more than just comfort and sex, he had felt this growing wish to be with you like this all of the time. But was now the time to tell you? He didn’t dare, for he also knew what consequences that confession could have. And it also wasn’t on him to decide anything when he had really no clue about your heart’s desires.
"I don’t know."
You felt a little sting beneath your chest. Even though he tried to add something more helpful, that doubt didn’t leave you. You had no idea what Jin wanted either.
"I don’t think I want to go back to being friends.”
"Okay."
You knew it was pointless to respond just that. But what else were you supposed to reply.
Jin was aware of that little undertone of disappointment in your voice. And it made him insane to know you probably were just as frustrated as him. Then why didn’t you just say it?
"Okay. And what do you want?"
"Well I don’t know either."
"Okay but how do we proceed then? We’ve got one show left in Seoul, how are we gonna act? I know we’ve kept this a secret but the others have been noticing us getting closer. It’s gonna be weird just to ignore each other."
He was right, of course. But it was cursed that both of you were too anxious and too stubborn to admit you wanted to let this secret go in another way.
"Maybe we should take some time to decide then. We’ve got two days until the Seoul final. Let’s take those to figure out what exactly we want."
"Sounds reasonable." Jin said and it did, but in a way this also felt like an interim goodbye, only being confirmed by you sitting up to get dressed.
Jin jolted up, carefully placing his hands on your shoulders as though to stop you.
"That doesn’t mean you need to leave right away." He was aware of how desperate he must have looked but he just wasn’t ready for you to leave. It was because of that feeling telling him as soon as you left through the door, everything that had brought him joy in these past weeks would vanish too.
You turned around to kiss him, closing his mouth with your lips for a long, wistful moment until you broke away and brushed his hands off.
"I know. But I’m so confused. I can’t do this right now. I think it’s better to start clearing our heads now."
As difficult as it felt to let you go like this, after that conversation that had been a long time coming but still hadn't gone like he had hoped for, he understood. So he didn't enclose his hand around yours when your fingers slipped out to leave him lonely and cold.
You granted him one last smile and said “Let's talk in Seoul.” before leaving Jin all alone. The rest of the night, until the very early morning hours, both of you spent door to door being slaves to your mazes of thoughts.

After a city tour and a wonderful, expensive dinner, you and Jin walked along the canals in Amsterdam. The sun had already said goodnight but the streets were illuminated in the warm glow of the street lights. You could even see the stars, something you could barely do in Seoul. If you hadn't known better, you could have sworn that Jin had organized all of this – the stars' reflection in the water, the buskers, the warm late summer breeze. It was just perfect and more romantic than anything you had ever done.
Plus, it was nice to meet outside of your hotel rooms for once. It was nice talking to him, nice simply enjoying time together without worrying who would see you. At one point, you really didn't care and even started to hold hands.
It was a date after all.
So hand in hand, you were walking with full bellies, your other arm wrapped around the big pink elephant plushie Jin had gotten you from a claw machine you had passed on your way to the restaurant. You had spotted the ugly little toy and you needed to have it; and Jin wouldn't have been Jin if he didn't try to catch it for you, one, two or ten attempts until he succeeded.
“Do you have a name for it yet?” he had asked after you received it with the brightest smile he had ever seen on you. You pretended to think hard about this question, though it had been clear to you once you saw it.
“I am thinking... SJ.”
He frowned with an amused smile.
“SJ? Like RJ?”
“Or like Seokjin.”
He didn't know what to respond to that, but Jin's mouth curved into a smile so that his cheeks became more prominent, inviting as to plead for a kiss. He loved your plushie's name and you knew because Kim Seokjin was rarely found speechless.
And even after dinner when you took your walk, whenever he spotted the pink elephant in your hands again, he had to chuckle.
“I really hope you're gonna take him to Seoul.”
“Of course! Are you joking? SJ will be my sleeping companion.”
“Wow, I kind of envy him already.”
Now you were the one who could only grin, too flustered to counter. But you gave Seokjin's hand a slight squeeze looking at him with a dreamy expression when you finally knew what to say.
“I don't mind if you take his place from time to time, though.”
“Well, I wouldn't mind either.”
Another break of silence when you kept walking and smirking to yourselves.
“I do actually sleep quite well when we're together, you know.”
Jin feels a sweet ache below his chest.
“Really?”
“Yes. You have this way of breathing super steadily when you're asleep. It's so calming and peaceful.”
The fact that you noticed, that you listened to his breathing and relaxed, Jin would have never guessed that.
“Hm... well, you snore.”
Offended, you released his hand and pout, only for him to catch your hand again and wrap his arms around you. He couldn't help but laugh about your indignation.
“You didn't let me finish. I wanted to say I like that. It relaxes me as well. And also, it's like...”
He stopped talking when a sweet scent tickled his nostrils.
“It's like what?” you asked, breaking the hug to look at him. “Could you finish your sentence?”
“Do you smell that?”
“Smell what?”
Jin seemed fully distracted and that made you curious. Suddenly, you could smell it too. You swirled around to help him find the origin of this delicious scent. Eventually, Jin discovered the food truck before you.
“Poffertjes!”
You were pretty sure his pronunciation wasn't right but it sounded adorable. And how excited he pulled you with him to the food truck. Only twenty minutes ago, both of you had complained about being too stuffed to move, but it was so much like him to get excited over food again.
“Want some too?”
“Nah, I'm so full.” you whined and clung onto his side.
“Okay, we can share.”
He ordered and you could tell the stand owner fell in love with him at the spot, just like every person who was lucky enough to meet Jin. You couldn't blame him. Jin resembled an excited child with his big, glowy eyes when he watched the owner make the mini pancakes.
He took the bag of poffertjes and the first thing he did is offer them to you.
“I know you want some.”
A little shy, you glanced up to him.
“I know I said no...”
“You did, but I ordered a large portion in case you would change your mind, so here.”
Happy that he wasn't even the slightest bit annoyed, you took one of the deliciously smelling snacks and stuffed it into your little mouth.
“You know, that's probably the most pretty I've ever seen you. When you munch on snacks like this.”
You didn't know if he was messing with you or not, but he looked certainly fond and so did the stand owner. In fact, the Dutch man with the gray beard stubbles started laughing.
“You two really are a very sweet couple.” he said. It was the first time none of you both felt the urge to defend yourself and reject that notion of you as a union.
Jin even wrapped his arm around your shoulders and winked at you.
“We are, right? And so handsome.”
You playfully hit against his chest.
“Stop it, that's embarrassing.”
The stand owner hadn't heard you, he was simply infatuated with the view of you and Jin.
“You certainly are. I wish both of you a good night.”
“Good night, Sir. And thank you.”
You kept walking and eating, not leaving each other's side.
“See, we're a cute couple.” Jin beamed when you were out of sight of the food truck owner. You chuckled.
“I never said otherwise. But honestly, if we keep eating like this on every of our dates, you have to roll me back to Seoul.”
Jin's eyebrow quirked up.
“So there will be more dates?”
“I don't know. Depends...”
“On?”
“How this one's gonna end.”
“How do you want it to end?”
You mysteriously averted your gaze, driving Jin crazy as he had to wait for an answer.
“Well, usually I end my first date with a kiss if I liked it.”
“Oh. Alright.”
“But since we're actually past that point, maybe we can just... cuddle, kiss maybe, and fall asleep together? You know since we both sleep better together.”
You had no idea why you suddenly felt nervous requesting such innocent things when you had done not so innocent things in the past.
“I'd love that.” Jin mumbled and actually stopped to kiss you right there, in the middle of the street. Just like he hadn't just made you feel like you're in a real life fairytale, he kept on walking, munching on his poffertjes.
It was 2AM when you were still awake and in your hotel room bed. You had been out in the city until 12 until you decided it was time to lie down and rest, especially because Jin had another packed day of soundcheck and a show ahead of him the next day.
But sleep was quite far from your mind. Despite the tempting circumstances, you both were still dressed - you in your pjs and Jin in boxers and the white t-Shirt he had worn all evening. Jin thought you looked absolutely delightful there, but sex wasn’t even on his radar that night.
Instead, he utterly devoted himself to soft stroking and tender kisses; and most importantly to just looking at you.
And you couldn’t blame him. It was pretty much of a cliche but you really did get lost in each other’s eyes.
That was unless you had to close them because his fingers feathering up and down your spine and along your bare shoulders became too soothing to keep them open.
"You're allowed to fall asleep if you’re tired, you know." he joked when he caught you drifting off in the middle of your conversation. You just answered with a moan and forced your eyes open again.
"No way. Unless you want to."
"Hm, no."
He shifted from a seating position to properly lie down, coming closer to press his pillow-soft lips between your shoulder blades.
The second kiss on the side of your neck which followed stole another moan from you.
“Could you do that every night, please?”
Jin planted another kiss on the top of your head, you responded by lifting yourself up a little, just to pepper a bunch of kisses all over his neck. You felt a soft vibration of his giggles as your pecks made his whole body tickle.
Jin gently made you stop, involving both of your lips in an ultimate kiss.
“I would, but wouldn't all of this technically be strictly off limits?”
His body molded onto yours when you started to innocently play with the color of his t-shirt.
“I'm not against breaking some rules with you.”
Surprised, but somehow satisfied, Jin furrowed his brows.
“Alright, then if you need night time cuddles, or daytime kisses as well, just call me and I'll be at your service.”
“I'd like that.”
And then your lips collided again, smooth mouths slowly moving each other open so your tongue could gracefully dance with his. You squirmed under his hand softly wandering over your thigh, knotting your fists in his shirt as you drew him in as hard as you could and then you let go, only to regard him with a dreamy expression.
Having your leg wrapped around his hips, Jin softly brought his hand up to stroke over your cheek, bringing your hair behind your ear just to peck your temple.
You sighed when a blissful tingle sparkled through your body, swaying in that moment of genuine enjoyment for one more moment before you said.
“Today I realized something about you.”
For a for him unknown reason, Jin's heart started to beat harder. Perhaps because he had realized something about himself, and you actually, as well.
“Yeah? And what's that?”
“It's that you really are the perfect boyfriend.”
“Yah, Y/n, you're sweet but I'm not perfect.”
You had to laugh at how shy he got, his ears turned crimson red.
“No, hear me out, Seokjin. You know how handsome you are-”
“Oh stop-” he rolled his eyes, everything but confident when someone who mattered confronted him with a compliment. But you wouldn't let that stop you.
“But not only that, you're also so sweet and you look out for people. You always make sure others are comfortable even if that means you have to make yourself uncomfortable in certain situations. And the way you always listen to people... I'm sure others would have gotten bored today when I told you all about my old friends and school days, but you listened so attentively... You made me feel important. And you always make me feel special. That's such a wonderful trait and I wonder where you got this from.”
Jin was smiling as though he remembered something.
“My parents... They've been together since they both were 19 and they still love each other more than anything. If you met them, you'd know what I mean. My dad always tells my mom how wonderful she is. They're always holding hands, always exchanging these fond looks. And my mom constantly does these little things for my dad that make his day, like writing little notes or surprising him with his favorite chocolate bar in his lunch box when he has a long day of work ahead. I always wanted a relationship like theirs. So I guess I adapted the traits I admired them for.”
You loved to hear him talk about his parents like that. From what he had told you before, you already knew they were close, but it was even more sweet to imagine that he learned all about healthy love and relationships from them.
“Your parents sound lovely. I'd love to meet them some time.”
When you said that, a picture was created in Jin's head and suddenly, he felt a blissful warmth under his skin. He'd love you to meet his parents, but even more so, he would love them to meet you, not as his tour manager but as someone by his side, although at that point he didn't even know what he would introduce you as.
“They would love you.”
You groaned, burying your face in the broad of his chest.
“Hey, don't distract. The point is, you're really a dream guy. Every person would be lucky to be with you.”
“Well,” he said, and he didn't realize he was about to ruin the mood, “your best friend didn't see it that way.”
Jin noticed you freezing for a moment, and he had almost bit his own tongue because of how badly he just wanted to take back what he said. He didn't mean to bring Yuri up. Her name had just slipped his tongue.
Luckily, you didn't withdraw immediately, although you brought a tiny bit of distance between you and him, but more so because you wanted to look at him.
“You still think about her?”
“No.” That came out too rushed to be true. Your huff only emphasized the shakiness of his answer.
“Well... she sometimes texts me. That's when I think about her, yes. But not as in missing her, I just reflect.”
You had no idea Yuri was texting Jin again, but the thought unsettled you. And it reminded you that there was something wrong about you and Jin being like this right now. But eventually, you decided that this was a thought for another day.

Paris
The first morning off in Paris was the first morning after your date when Jin and you met again. It had been some intense days full of shows, traveling and interviews and there had barely been a time to rest for any of the boys or you. Not to mention to see each other outside of work, really.
Anyway, the boys had asked you to go for an early morning walk in the park near you hotel. There weren't many people around at that time, so perfect for the guys to just enjoy some free time and fresh air.
When Jin saw you that morning, it was hard to contain his joy. God, had he missed you. Even if your rooms were next to each other, it felt like you had been oceans apart. Although you had texted day and night after your date, he was underlying this really strong urge to see you, to touch you, to kiss you. It was almost like that one day in Amsterdam had driven him to addiction. Y/n addiction.
And you couldn't help but stare at him neither. Everything about how he looked made you soft. The long, fluffy black hair. The bare face without any makeup except a bit of balm on his perfect plump lips. And the glasses (that he might have worn because you had told him they looked good on him).
When you started to walk, you guys stayed in the back. Unobtrusively, so that nobody noticed, you started a bit of small talk. That was until Jin was entirely sure nobody was listening or looking. And once he was certain, he took your hand and twirled you around, so you landed in his arms, silencing your euphoric squeal with a brief but deep kiss.
You panicked a little, but nobody had seen, so you could fully focus on the sweet contraction of your heart.
“Jin!” you whispered shocked, “What if they see?”
You were still holding his hand, and grinning. Frankly, that diminished the validity of your concern.
“Then we're screwed.” Jin replied. That didn't keep him from kissing you again.
“How are you, Y/nie?”
Your knees became a little weaker when your name left his mouth in such a sweet manner.
“Goood. But I didn't sleep as well these last few days.”
“I know. I felt the same. I missed-”
“Jin? Y/n?”
Your hands parted quicker than you could blink. Good for you that Namjoon hadn't been wearing his glasses.
“Yeah?” You reacted, trying to hide your shaky voice.
“Are you up for breakfast somewhere? Taehyung and Jungkook are hungry.”
“Uh, sure.” Jin replied, and you were kind of glad to see he had become nervous as well.
“Alright. I think I saw a place yesterday where we can go.”
Namjoon turned back around and both of you let out a relieved sigh.
“That was close. Again.” you gasped.
“It was.”
Even though you two wordlessly decided to be more careful, Jin didn't hesitate to at least hook your little fingers together. He just needed to feel you, and quite honestly, you were glad he was sharing your yearning for closeness.

Jimin had no doubt about his feelings for you. Nobody had ever made him feel so jolly yet so nervous at the same time. He thought he had been in love before, but ever since he had met you, he knew the difference between attraction and genuinely being in love.
The only problem was he had no idea if you felt the same.
And that made him anxious. Sometimes. Because what if you didn't share his feelings? What if you didn't like him in the same way? And even worse, what if you liked someone else more than him?
At times when he saw you with the others, Jimin couldn't keep that fear at bay. When you praised Hobi's dancing or when you sat down with Tae and he made you laugh, Jimin felt that tiny bit of reoccurring jealousy nagging on him. He was absolutely aware that he had no right or reason to be jealous, of course. All of you were friends. You trusted each other, and the other guys – of course well aware of his crush on you – had repeatedly reassured him that they wouldn't be in his way. But then again, that was just Jimin. He got insecure, especially when it came to you.
He sometimes feared to be too clingy, following the urge to tell you everything he thought was mentionable. Whether he had a good day or a bad day, whether it was a small thing or a big experience, you were always the first one he would call. And honestly, sometimes he thought he was too much. Not that you had seemed annoyed or anything. You always seemed happy to hear his voice, but Jimin was sure you'd also never show if it was different.
You were too kind, too warm-hearted to say something that could potentially hurt someone; that's exactly why he fell in love with you from the start.
“Jimin, I swear if you don't confess soon, I will tell Y/n.” Tae teased that day. They were both in Tae's room, Jimin lying on his friend's bed with the phone in his hand while Taehyung cleaned up (after being scolded by Hoseok once again for not keeping his room tidy).
It was a Friday night. When you weren't too busy, you used to come over on Fridays after work, just to spend time with the seven of them. You guys cooked together, did movie nights, board game nights or sometimes you stayed even just to chat the night away. No matter what, it was the highlight of Jimin's week. He could never await Fridays so when you visited them, he was so determined not to miss out on a moment with you that he always stayed awake just as long as you did, mostly until the next morning. By now, Fridays were the reason his sleeping rhythm was a mess, but he gladly accepted that.
“I don't know what you mean.” Jimin responded to his best mate, although aware that they were past the point when denial was an option. Tae snorted and snatched the phone out of Jimin's hand. The display showed a photo of you. Taehyung turned it around to expose Jimin to himself.
“Yeah because you haven't just scrolled through Y/n's instagram again for the past hour.”
Jimin giggled and rolled on his stomach, throwing back his head in sheer frustration in the next second.
“What am I supposed to do? I just wanna see her – All. The. Time. I feel like I'm going insane and it hurts but it's kind of a sweet pain and I don't want it to stop hurting. Taehyungie, am I going crazy?”
“Yeah, probably. But it's also called being in love.”
“But what am I supposed to do?”
Tae threw he phone back on the bed and shrugged.
“I just told you. We've all been telling you, actually. Confess!”
“You all make it sound so easy.”
“Because it is. Just take her aside and say it.”
His friend's careless remarks made Jimin chuckle.
“That is not a great piece of advice. What if she doesn't feel the same? Nah. I rather stay in my torturous guessing what we could be bubble instead of suffering from the pain of unrequited love.”
Tae sighed.
“I guarantee you, she does feel the same. She's just as shy as you are and it's honestly a bit frustrating to watch you guys being oblivious. Or, how Yoongi hyung phrased it last week, we just want to bump your idiot heads together so you finally kiss and this mutual pining has an end.”
Jimin pouted. It had always been hard for him to accept when others tried to give him a confidence pep talk, although he loved the praise.
“How would you be so sure?”
“Well, I'm not blind nor deaf, but if you want a concrete example, fine. You probably haven't ever realized but why are you always the first one Y/n wants to hug when we meet?”
Jimin's pout curled into a pucker. He had indeed never noticed that. But just when he wanted to protest, there was a female voice resounding from the door.
“Hey guys! Where's Jimin?”
Tae faced his friend, regarded him with a lifted brow. Jimin on the other hand, felt his cheeks heating up. Only a second later, you stormed into the room.
“Hi guys!”
“Y/n!” Jimin greeted you and immediately questioned if he sounded too excited.
“Hi Y/n,” Tae said amused and made sure to give Jimin a telling look. You didn't hesitate but took the free place next to Jimin, sitting so close that his thoughts kept returning to the question what would be if he just wrapped his arm around you.
His whole body became tense, focused on not making a wrong move. He could feel your warmth even if you didn't touch. And what left his mind in a really dizzy state was the fact that he could smell your perfume. Maybe he should ask you what type it was so he could buy it just for spraying it on his own pillow.
“I'm gonna leave you two to it. But if anything happens, please change the sheets, thank you.”
Jimin was about to jump his friend and wring Tae's neck for exposing his deepest, well-hidden desires like that, even if it was meant as a joke. And Taehyung knew Jimin was furious inside, but he would never show that side in front of you. So he let Taehyung leave in peace.
What Jimin didn't even notice until you were alone was how you had just ignored Tae's remark. Not a grimace, no denying, not even an 'ugh'. You had heard him, for sure. But you didn't seem to care if anyone thought that something could potentially happen between him and you.
Or was Jimin completely mislead?
You moved to face him, granting him your fullest attention. Your eyes always did something to his stomach, a similar feeling to when he was in a rollercoaster, that moment when it felt like he was flying for a split second.
“How was your week?” you simply asked, though it sounded like it was the most important question you had ever uttered.
“Ah nothing special, I don't want to bore you out.”
You frowned, forehead creasing in a scowl.
“You could never bore me. I've been looking forward all week to today.”
“Have you?” Jimin murmured in a coarse voice. When you nodded, he was sure his body was melting into Tae's mattress.
“Yeah, you telling me all about your week is the highlight of mine.”
You were aware that you said that, although Jimin and you constantly texted every day. You didn't care if he already told you about the things that had happened, you just wanted to hear them from his mouth, see his emotions while he was talking, his face lighting up when he got excited and his voice becoming quieter when he talked about the less positive things.
And because you just told him that, Jimin dared to wonder if Tae and the others had actually been right. He was the highlight of your week, and you were the highlight of his. Maybe it was pretty oblivious of you to spend your time balancing on this rope between friendship and more.
Maybe that night was the night Jimin would tell you how he really felt. Maybe he could bring up the courage to tell you. He wasn't sure yet, but for the moment, it was more than enough to lie next to you, stare into each other's eyes and tell you the most ordinary things in the most normal way he knew.
