— [ ♡ ] ❝ i’ve tried a plethora of things to try to make myself sleep when it escapes me. nothing really ever seems to work. i thought counting sheep would tire me out and that would eventually put me to sleep, but i once hit 500 sheep and i ended up even more alert so i’ve stopped doing that since. ❞  

❝ so basically, what i do now is i just stay up for the entire night. yeah, i feel like shit throughout the day, but by the next night, i’m incredibly exhausted and i tend to knock out. it’s by no means healthy, but hey, that’s what works for me.  ❞

does yooa crave love? of course she does. but does she need love? depends on the type of love really. she truly does believe that if she never experiences romantic love again, she’ll be fine. sure it’ll be sad, and there probably will be moments that she would get incredibly lonely, but she doesn’t think it’ll be the end of the world if she’s not love romantically ever again. 

it’s a different story when it comes to love between friends and family though. despite how gruff she can seem, she will always crave that kind of platonic love in her life.

were it any other five foot three girl hobbling at less than quarter speed, he would’ve considered the threat of getting his ass kicked to be a big fat zero, if not negative. but considering that this one threatening him now is none other than yoo shiah, he actually has to assign the notion a legitimate, positive probability. so as much as he wants to dare her to try, he reminds himself of what they say about provoking a wounded animal… that is, don’t do it. honestly he has to admit that it’s rather impressive, how such immense willpower and formidability can be packed into such a small frame. on the other hand, those same qualities only make this ‘victory’ sweeter when she has no choice but to give in and hop on this back.

upon contact, he annoyingly theatrically grunts like he has the wind knocked out of him, even though he clearly doesn’t. “yes yes, i forgot i owe you my life,” he bemoans, freely rolling his eyes because she can’t see his face from her angle anymore. after stabilizing their position, he begins to move forward at a steady pace, actually watching his steps carefully now. after all, it’d be real tragic and highly inconvenient if he himself were to trip now. “oh. for the record, you are too heavy, so don’t bother asking out of courtesy,” he jokes offhandedly. “just relax and enjoy the view! the world looks different from this high up, doesn’t it?” at this point, he’s practically beaming in content, but again, she can’t see his face anymore so his lips are free to curl into whatever smug grin they so desire.

— [ ♡ ] the fact that the male has to face front and focus his attention on walking, therefore not being able to see her expression, gives her the perfect opportunity to roll her eyes at his statements. (much like he himself did a few moments prior, unbeknownst to her). of course he would say something about her weight. yooa has half the mind to tighten her arms around his neck so that she can choke him, but she decides against it. at the end of the day, he is doing her a favor by carrying her back to camp. despite that, she’s still going to chew his ear off for even teasing her that she is quote, unquote too heavy. ❝ yah, if you really think i’m too heavy, i think that says more about your health and fitness than it does about mine. as if your tall tree stature and twig arms couldn’t carry someone who is like forty-three kilograms. ❞ 

she shifts so that she’s supporting the majority of her weight with one arm, the elbow of her other arm coming up to jab into his shoulder area forcefully. it’s of course done out of spite at his offhanded teasing of her height. sure, she may be tiny compared to him, but she has good proportions, so even if she isn’t tall, at least she looks taller than she really is.  ❝ you’re right, the view is slightly different from up here,. but you know, i’m perfectly fine being my height.❞ and of course, because he seemed exasperated by all the science stuff she talks about, she’s going to bring science back into the conversation.  ❝ i wouldn’t trade my height for this view, not when i’d have a higher risk of getting some cancers, blood clots, and spine, neck, and back problems. ❞ she grins, patting him where she had jabbed him moments earlier.  ❝ but i guess all these possibilities are in your future, so i’ll be share to pray for your good health.  ❞

much to his surprise, the game is going surprisingly smooth. not that baekso ever doubted the physical abilities and eye-to-hand coordination of his friends, but he wasn’t expecting the ball to go back and forth with such ease. despite the competitiveness in the air and the effort that’s being put in from both sides, he doesn’t know for sure whether his teammates care much about winning or losing, like himself. still, he encourages on junhyung when his hit is out ( slightly, but still out ) and cheers on danbi when she successfully hits the ball back, clapping as she does her little celebratory dance.

choosing to focus on cheering on his teammates rather than following the actual game meant he was met with absolute shock when he the ball found itself going straight his way. it gave him enough time to take a few steps back to better position himself and put his arms out the way everyone seemed to be doing it, closing his eyes as the balls gets closer and pointing his arms towards the net when he feels the ball hit and bounce off his forearms. an insecure grin plasters over his face as he straightens himself, waiting to see what are the results of his haphazard hit. 

— [ ♡ ]  yooa herself is quite surprised by the way the game is going as well. for starters, as much as she didn't want to admit it, she had anticipated for baekso’s team to win. at the end of the day the other team has three relatively sporty people and there’s only so much that she can do with her impressive height of 160 cms. but as she watches as the ball goes back and forth between the two teams, she’s honestly relieved that her team is doing so well. if she could keep the momentum going then perhaps this time the underdogs could win. 

she clenches her teeth together as she observes baekso take a few steps back and successfully hit the ball over. she has to hold back a groan (because yes, she had secretly been hoping that baekso wasn’t able to hit back hansung’s ball, but alas, you can’t have everything in the world).  ❝ i got it. ❞ she calls out to her team, taking a few steps forward and letting the ball hit against her outstretched arms. she bites down on her bottom lips as the ball flies over the net, her eyes still narrowed in the competitive manner that they had been since the game started. she really hopes the game will end soon (with the victory of her team of course, because while she’s “close” to the majority of the group, she doesn’t want to strip down naked in front of them).

Of course, as they slowly got to know one another, those opinions shifted to compliment the facts of her persona. But still, he couldn’t help but to be honest about his bewilderment. “Yeah, back when I just beginning to firmly plant myself in the music industry, working out my image and sound.” Axel replies fondly, reminded of how far he’s come in his career. Growth was one hell of a thing to witness, especially when it was your own. “I do okay,” laughs the producer, tickled by the sudden transformation, spurred by his revelation. “He’s pretty chill. At least, that’s my perception of him and our time spent in the studio.”

jaehyun knows he has quite the reputation amongst the classes as a genuine playboy but his image is simply that. just an established reputation and facade that is very well known. either way,  he treats his flings like a gentleman since there’s always a future use for them if he needs them. to satisfy his own carnal delights, he’s got a few other girls on the side, so he doesn’t really see the problem in occasionally bothering his favorite girls. he grins widely at her. of course he got into the practice, benefits of being on the student council. “well you are one of my favorite girls~” he grins, winking at her. 

as she states that practice doesn’t end for another hour and that she wouldn’t want to make him wait, jaehyun grins. her aim to blow him is seen through. “ah, i don’t mind waiting around for another hour, yooa-chan~” he leans forward with a playful grin. he has quite a few layers underneath that flirty visual and reputation. “besides, i’ll be busier later since i have to start working on the rest of my applications for graduate studies,” he  sighs with a pout, hoping that will guilt her a bit.

her smile is now gone and in its place are her lips pressed firmly into a straight line. she could hope all she want but it appears as if he wouldn’t leave her alone until she agreed to spend some time with him. she sighs mentally, resigned to her fate now. ❝ oh... is that so? i guess if you really don’t mind, then sure. ❞ she walks over to her bag, pulling out her water bottle and taking a long sip of water.  ❝ you can wait on the bleachers if you want. i’ll come get you when i’m done with practice.  ❞

     he wrinkles his nose and he’s wary of water, especially water where he knows he probably won’t be able to reach the bottom. subin has always been able to convince him into getting into the pool, but seungwoo never goes into the deep end. it doesn’t matter how much his brother begs, that’s one thing seungwoo refuses to do — mostly because he can’t swim and he’s never really gotten the hang of it, even when he tried to learn. 

     that’s why he’s standing here on the shores of the lake, still staunchly against the idea of him actually entering the lake, especially when yooa’s provision of the floatie obviously indicates she wants him to do more than just sit at the water’s edge. his own pride dictates that he can’t show just how uncomfortable he is with this idea, trying to hide his increasing nervousness behind his protests of the duck floatie. “why can’t i just not go in at all?” he demands, standing stubbornly on the side of the lake, dread seeping its way into his heart. “i really don’t know how to swim, and i don’t want to use that… that… that duck.” he grumbles, crossing his arms over his chest defensively. “can’t i just stand here, on the edge?”

— [ ♡ ] it's currently the battle between two stubborn souls. and truthfully, yooa feels herself losing just because of how upset he looks. perhaps she’s pushing him too much to do something that would make him uncomfortable. revenge aside, she genuinely does enjoy swimming so she had been hoping that he’d at least be open to going into the lake with her. she maintains the fact that she’s a proficient swimmer, so if anything were to happen (she’s 99.9% sure that nothing will happen if he stands in six and a half feet of water). she could save the day. 

as one last ditch effort, she decides on taking a different approach. ❝ it’s no fun if you just stand on the edge. ❞ she says, lips pulling down even more into a pout. god-- is this what people mean when they say that peer pressure is real?  ❝ don’t you trust me? i wouldn’t do anything that would put you in danger. besides! it’s not a summer camp experience if you don’t go swimming in the lake. ❞ she walks over to the edge of the lake, fully ready to jump straight in.  ❝ also, i do think it’s a good idea for you to try to conquer your fear of water. all with the help with me and sunshine of course. ❞
