Being loud and enthusiastic certainly wasn't Dulse's preference, and he would never reach that kind of level. Not was he exactly trying to. But the simple difference of adding a few extra r's to very was enough to set Emmet soaring. He'd continue to research the optimal ways of inducing happiness in his partner.
"Yes."
Maybe being shy was a way of staying on the tracks, since seeing that pretty face was verrrrry distracting. How adorable he looked, how the beautiful eyes gazed back at him. Emmet could make an emergency stop just to see his beauty.
Ah, focus.
"I see! It is Emmet maintenance time soon, I guess. I will take a note for my schedule. And... I hope it will help not only me but many. You are verrrrry brilliant! I am sure!! You will reach a breakthrough and conclude this research with victory!" Emmet should have worn his hat to hide under it. Soft giggles escaped him as he looked away momentarily.
His fiancé cared so much, so truly, that Dulse was keen on getting Emmet back to his feet. The train had been broken down during Ingo's disappearance, going off the rails at alarming speeds, and it was only made worse with the Nihilego encounter--the one Emmet had thrown himself into foolishly. With no safety checks. It was a miracle that he survived despite that recklessness. Never again.
Emmet tilted his head, listening while humming verrrry quietly--till Dulse mirrored his speech. Silver eyes stared back. Processing...
"SHE DOES!!! ZOSSIE IS THE BEST! PERFECT!!!" Emmet reached to hold Dulse's hand with both hands, giddy. "YOU!! What you said!!! You matched with me!!"

He understood now. This was the emotion categorized as 'shy'. It was a common emotion shared between himself and Emmet, but Dulse wasn't sure as to why Emmet would be feeling it particularly at this moment. Removing the shades that hid his lightless eyes, Dulse answered.
"Research is progressing at a steady rate. Since the research on marriage and the analysis of the findings in the Ultra Desert have concluded, I am now turning my attention back onto human cell research."
It was research dedicated to Emmet's benefit... He wanted to help Emmet reach his highest potential and best physical form so he could function both within and beyond the URS.
"Do not be concerned that it is not about Ultra Beasts. I am awaiting Zossie's finished translators, she is doing..." Oh... he didn't really want to say it. There was a moment of hesitation. A sigh, a relent. "...verrry well on that project."
OK. Disengaging. His cheeks burn, as the usually, unberably loud subway boss lets out a soft "Hi."
"How is your research going? Everything on the right tracks?"
