DEAN.

          ‘  no, it’s not like that. ’     she makes a valid statement, despite the fact that it’s false.  in all the years that he’s known her, dean has never underestimated what she’s capable of.  he knows better.  his decision to take the case wasn’t necessarily his.  his missing father texted him the coordinates.  it wasn’t a choice at all.  it was an indirect order that dean needed to obey. 

          ‘  look, i have to do this.  it’s kinda hard to explain but  –  ’    he doesn’t want to tell her about john.  the fewer hunters that know about his disappearance the better.  he must have good reason to be absent, and dean trusts him.  he can’t expose whatever it is that is keeping him busy to anyone outside his family.  the winchester sighs at his next words, as he realizes that he seems to be asking a lot from an ex-girlfriend.       ‘  trust me. ’

      she thinks on that for a minute,  lets his words settle into her skin and her brain.  does he think that just because he’s here,  she’s going to back off and let him continue hands-off?   ‘  sure,  i’ll trust you,  ‘   buffy begins,  her tone not completely neutral,  and crosses her arms for the second time in the last few minutes.  ‘  as long as you let me in on the case.  might be easier if we work together,  depending what you know.  ‘

          buffy doesn’t consider this to be an unreasonable request.  after all,  dean’s alone,  she’s alone,  it would statistically be easier for them to shoulder the burden of this complicated case together  ---  as long as they’re not fighting the whole time,  and the jury’s still out on that one.   ‘  just let me help you.  don’t be stubborn.  i know that’s contrary to your DNA,  but seriously.  ‘

“Thinking is definitely your thing too,” Willow replied, defensively. She hated it when Buffy talked down on herself like that. “I know it wasn’t technically me, but it feels like it was me, y’know? The things she did… the things she said…” She shivered a bit. “It was like a demented Parent Trap.” 

Willow nodded in recognition at Buffy’s mention of the bizzaro dream-world. “Yeah, I remember,” she said. At least someone could understand what she was going through. She supposed Angel could also relate to her situation, but he wasn’t exactly the king of communication, and they didn’t really have that kind of relationship yet. “I should probably start pawning them off on other people, anyway. Oz deserves enough cookies to fill the entire van after all that happened.” 

      ‘  well.  i’m sure oz would appreciate that,  but it’s not as though you don’t take care of him on a pretty consistent basis,  will.  and anyway,  you shouldn’t feel guilty for stuff you didn’t do.  i know it’s weird,  but.  she’s gone now.  in her own freaky world with her own freaky people or.  kinda-people.  out of sight,  out of mind,  right?  ‘   her mouth curved in a gentle smile.

     ‘  what are the things that are  ---  you know,  plaguing your every thought the most?  ‘  she asked after a moment,  well aware that willow wasn’t going to just stop thinking about it at the drop of a hat.  she understood that things like this could be traumatic,  and.  wiggy,  and frankly disturbing.  ‘  was it that she was gay?  or was fine with routinely killing people?  ‘

    ‘  cordelia,  hey.  ‘  she looked  ...  more legitimately stressed than she’d ever seen cordelia chase before.  the call from angel had come as quite the surprise to buffy:  she’d known they were working together,  but perhaps not quite to this extent.  it had been weird to open the door to giles’ house to let her in for the initial discussion and it was even weirder to be opening the door to her half-empty dormitory to invite her to stay there.  ‘  um.  i don’t know how much you want to tell your parents or if you even want to tell them at all,  but.  my roommate ended up being a demon and willow’s still living with hers,  so there’s.  plenty of space here,  if you want to use it.  ‘

   ‘  i....  know how difficult it is to tell your parents about stuff like this.  ‘   buffy swallowed hard and stood in the corner awkwardly,  her fingernails scritching absently against the edge of her desk.  she wondered idly how her father might’ve reacted,  if he were still around.  for anything.  maybe the way he had when she’d told her parents about vampires the first time  ---  to stick her in a mental institution and hope that slapping a bandaid on there would fix the ‘problem’.  buffy didn’t know cordelia’s parents,  but she knew that cordelia wasn’t crazy.  the last thing she needed was more scrutiny.  she wasn’t sure,  however,  about the first thing she needed.

It was out of boredom, as he did most things out of either bordeom or impulse, that he decided to follow her at a distance. The werewolf had noticed her the moment he walked into the store to pick up a few things. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to sate a bit of his curiousity whether it might be playing with fire or not. ❝ Guess I got CURIOUS, ❞ he replied, leaning against one of the shelves in the aisle. HEIGHT.          5′2 CLOTHING STYLE.       tight clothes that don’t get in the way.   leather jackets in patent and various colors,  trenches,  boots,  cute halters in the summer and sweaters in the winter,  denim,  eccentric colors which sort of decline into muted neutrals,  earrings,  fitted jeans and leggings.
