I'm really having fun with open questions... How does your Sidestep interpret Ortega's white noise chatter in their head? Did they ever feel like they caught a stray thought?

I gave it a lot of thought and it's going into headcanon territory but for Kadm it's almost like he can grasp unintelligible words, just utter gibberish transmitted nonstop in Ortega's voice like a badly tuned TV transmitter. It's an eerie sensation of being able to distinguish intensity and even cadence of the chatter (if Ortega's either annoyed or worried) but the noises are just splattered syllables. He's been on the intent lookout for a single word for years and it's been driving him insane.

#OH MY GOD I LOVE THE IDEA OF KADM BEING /ALMOST/ ABLE TO HEAR WORDS #if you dont mind id like to steal that for caine because it would drive them /nuts/ #and would probably build on their (subconcious) resentment for ortega #hes curious and telepathy is his most reliable sense so having it Not Quite work would make him seethe #for cyrus its. ringing. in his ears #it gets incredibly intrusive at times but hes learned to dial it down enough to forget about it #sometimes when ortega gets heated for whatever reason he can hear it louder #for cecilia its like sizzling/crackling bonfire #there are times when cecilia will hear it pop and itll jumpscare her #she has yet to interpret what those pops mean #sometimes shell sketch people oit and i know for a fact she uses the cartoon explosion booms to represent his thoughts #i think cynthia hears the regular static #the kind you hit on when youre tuned into the wrong radio channel #shes put her mental fingers in it before out of curiousity and it made her arm feel like #numb? like the static was clinging on to her #she treats ortegas static like slime because of this #caine lynzal #cyrus becker #cecilia rider #cynthia garcia #others speak
