Wanted to try making a slightly more inhuman looking design for Beloved, featuring variations for the Fool, Amber, and Lord Golden.

actually more on why I cope with the Tawny Man ending:
the cycles bro. What did Beloved do the last time he and Fitz accomplished some major Prophet/Catalyst stuff and their relationship got closer? He LEFT because he believes 1. he makes Fitz's life harder, 2. his role as Prophet comes before whatever he may want personally, and 3. he doesn't deserve to be loved (for the previous two reasons). The kiss AND run are both a vital part of the dance.
so it hits all the harder that the ultimate ending of the (entire 16 book) series is him finally staying. I mean I could go on about the details of what it still left us wanting and the godawful price of getting there, but in the grand scheme it makes the ending of Fool's Fate work for me, as much as it sucked. A cycle is not a cycle if it only happens once!
(and yes for these reasons and more I fully believe they also kissed in the Clerres tunnel)

one of my favourite underrated moments is when beloved tells fitz how bee is their love-child and fitz is trying to rack his brain for when he had sex with the fool. LIKE, rote is a romcom actually

FitzChivalry Farseer - I love how Fitz always is ready for a fight, and he knows he’s gonna come out on top, if a bit battered. Even if the people around him are like “No Fitz” he still does it while they all facepalm in despair.

how I feel commenting “there were actually three kisses” on someone’s post. I am right though

I’ve seen lots of people finishing ROTE lately (how are y’all holding up? It’s rough right? It’s… a lot.) so subsequently, I’ve seen tons of posts about is how incredibly sad (frustrating, dumb, completely insane) it is that Fitz and the Fool didn’t kiss at the end of the final trilogy like they had in the previous two and… YES! Yes. I agree. They shoulda been smooching the entire time (if I had my druthers lmfao…) However, I would like to offer an alternative perspective to soothe all of our aching hearts.
While there wasn’t A Definitive Kiss in the spirit of the previous kisses, I believe they absolutely did kiss, and the reason it isn’t referred to in the same manner as the other two is because Fitz is the one who initiated it (this was an observation @cicide76536 clued me in to- they made a great post on it awhile back!) Here is the passage in question, in Assassin’s Fate.
Ok… so… we have Fitz embracing Beloved tightly, Beloved’s hand gripping on to Fitz’s neck/jaw, and PANTING INTO MOUTHS AND POURING STRENGTH AND HEALING INTO HIM AND EMBRACING HIM WITH MORE THAN HIS ARMS. Sound familiar? That’s because it’s extremely comparable to what Beloved did to Fitz in Fool’s Fate:
In FF, Beloved kissed Fitz’s anguish back into him, making him whole. And in AF, Fitz did the reverse, pushing healing and strength into Beloved, making him whole.
But Fitz is and always will be, first and foremost, an unreliable narrator, especially when it comes to the nature of his relationship with the Fool (for example: So I Did, the whole Kelsingra thing, the constantly sharing a bed and a tent and cuddling but being incredibly nonchalant about it, the I Have Never Felt Less Than A Man bit, etc) so he downplayed this kiss tremendously and centered it around the healing aspect of the encounter and how he was doing it for Bee’s benefit - despite the fact that they were Skill linked when it occurred, a state which he himself has stated is the pinnacle of intimacy. They were kissing. Fitz took Beloved’s hand, held it to his neck, put his arms around him and kissed him. But he’s Fitz. He couldn’t just say that. Instead he had to dance around it in the most insane, roundabout way possible.
Fitz. You literally cannot pant and breathe into someone’s mouth if you aren’t so physically close that your lips are almost touching. Be so real with me right now.
So TL;DR Fitz knew (thought) this was the end, his last chance to save not only his child but Beloved, and so he, having nothing left to to lose and no reason to hold back from Beloved any longer, did what he’d never have even remotely considered in previous books and initiated both that moment of Skill intimacy AND their traditional end of trilogy kiss. At least that is my STRONGLY held theory!

April. Fools.
(just kind the vibe lately)
Description: An illustration depicting the dais where a medieval king sits on his throne, but the camera is placed behind the chair. At the edges of the chair we can see hints of the king, raising his wine in a toast to a bright courtroom. Behind the chair though, and the focus point of the picture, we can see a jester sitting cross-legged in the shadows of the king. Clearly troubled by the circumstances of the world around them.

I love the ship name 'fitzloved' because it at once implies that fitz is loved and also that beloved is loved by fitz and it's just so 🥹
