He stopped himself. Huffman shouldn’t question such a obviously good decision just because Mika was his younger brother...nor should he question his superiors. The knight sighed.

Huffman held his breath as he wasn’t sure how to approach such a situation. Sure Mondstadt was friendly towards all their neighboring nations, even Snezhnaya despite everything, but when it came to the Fatui...ah. There was only so much even a knight as himself could do in such a situation.

Finally letting out his breath, he forced himself to calm down as he did not mean to be so on guard - but how could he not? He was dealing with a Harbinger, a guest of Mondstadt from Snezhnaya.

❝ It’s not becoming of a knight to drink on the job. ❞

It was an excuse, but the last thing he needed was to get tricked into drinking a little too much a spilling things he should not be spilling. Regardless, he placed a hand over his chest as he gave a small bow to apologize for not partaking in a casual drink.

❝ However, I would be happy to treat you to two dandelion wines. Courteously of the Knights of Favonius of course, or if that is not to your liking, then from me personally as an apologize for not divulging in such luxurious tonight. ❞

Huffman was more confused than anything else. Although he was happy to sign it...he was also wondering why Teucer had one in the first place. Sigh. It didn’t matter too much. Teucer seemed happy regardless of such injury.

The knight crouched down as he pulled one of his pens from his supply bag - always having one on hand in case he needed it for documentation. He offered a smile before extending his hand for Teucer to put his cast in so that Huffman may sign it.

Huffman nodded his head as he walked alongside Eula as they were making their way towards the city. Although Huffman himself was hardly apart of the reconnaissance team, he was in charge of the medical supplies...and as such it’s best to be close by should someone get injured within their borders.

❝ I’m glad to know my services aren’t urgently needed with this much supplies coming in, and I take it that Mika is doing well upon his return? ❞

The knight cast his gaze over at Eula, watching her movements to see if he could piece any information out of her despite her being one of the harder captains to read. He hadn’t spoken with his brother too much after his return, but that was just how it was in his house hold...always working with Mika out in the fields and Huffman in medical ward.

Huffman's smile grew a little wider at the mention of his brother.

❝ Ah-ha. Yes, it's been quite a long time since he was home. To which I am grateful Grand Master Varka was courteous enough to allow him to come home for Weinlesefest. He was probably homesick. ❞

The knight chuckled as he shook his head to stop himself from getting too happy over having some family around this time of the year.

❝ Ahem. But I haven't seen him yet, come to think of it. Probably staying away from the crowd as usual...but I'm surprised you haven't see him running about? He kinda sticks out like a sore thumb with his vibrant colors like yours... ( a pause ) ...or are you waiting for me to introduce you to him? ❞

Huffman raised a brow, looking at Venti with a questioning look. He knew that Mika was the center of attention for a lot of reasons and was probably hiding away. So anyone who Mika wasn’t obligated to report to...he’d stay clear of for the moment.

“Heya Huffman, I little choko bird told me your baby brother is back.” Timid Mika was seen by Venti heading off to report to Eula. Venti wondered if Mika will be staying in Mondstadt or returning to the expedition, but judging by the gossip between the knights it sounded like Varka was probably in Snezhnaya by now.

Goddammit if Mika is *actually* Huffman’s little brother and the Schmidt family is known for their seriousness and gullibility, imma die. Overworked Huffy who gets drunk and can’t take care of himself - it’s canon if this happens.

Also I know Schmidt is a generic German last name, but holy shit when I had secretly made Huffman’s true last name Schmidt before he was adopted as a Scharfricter...man.

Guess it’s time to make Huffy truly have an inferiority complex and make him totes not special and just a run-of-the-mill knight who wants to be as competent as his little brother who has a vision and a better reputation than him.

Roy followed the knight inside, letting his gaze wander over the various people in here. Cozy. He pulled a stool for himself next to the other and sat down on it casually, facing him.

“Hehe. Well, alright then. Just letting you know so you’re prepared.”, he grinned and shot him a playful wink. “You have been warned.” Not that many people ever took his warning to heart anyways, when it came to the flirtatiousness of his sister. Most of them even seemed to want to meet her even more. Hah, wasn’t he just a great wingman sometimes? He surely was washing his hands off responsibility. Totally innocent.

“Oh, yeah? Maybe we should introduce the two of them then, they’d have a blast for sure. Hey, maybe we should make bets who of them gives in first. That would surely a funny show, haha.” He laughed, imagining the scene in front of his inner eye. Of course, a bit of booze would make that scene even better to enjoy.

He pecked his lips; he had no idea what the tavern was offering really and he didn’t want to waste a lot of time picking anything, so he ended up just ordering a beer. Surely they’d have that, right? Every tavern did. His eyes fell on the juice that soon appeared in front of Huffman. “No drinking on the job, eh? So responsible of you.”, he teased lightly as he lifted his own glass slightly for a toast.

“Yeah, right~” He raised his fist to his lips, clearing his throat in a very important way. “I, my friend, am the great warrior Lord General Roy Eliwood of the great nation of Natlan, right hand to the lady of fire, the goddess of war herself, Murata.” His chest was swollen with pride, like a lion that puffed its chest in front of others to get their admiration. „My sister is my twinsister, Seraphina Eliwood.“

After a few seconds of silence, where he gave the knight some time to be in awe of him and his position, he laughed shortly. “Just call me Roy.”, came the casual answer accompanied by an almost pompous hand gesture. Wasn’t he just bounteous?

❝ A bet? Well if it's simply a bet for mora, I don't mind pitting my captain against your sister. Sounds like a fun ordeal, ❞ Huffman chuckled, although he was sure that he was going to lose this battle. Even if (as a knight) he had every confidence in his superiors...well there was smooth talking and then flirting. Quite a difference in Huffman's eyes.

Ah, but his thoughts were taken away upon hearing the other's full title. Lord General from Natlan, and it was a shame that Huffman wasn't informed on this whole ordeal. Surely Mondstadt would have informed him, unless he was kept in the dark for some reason...ah, he'll have to talk to his superiors later for potentially putting him in an embarrassing situation.

❝ A general? ❞ Huffman quirked a brow, not caring that his face was blatantly showing his skepticism. The Fatui were one thing, ordered to keep their lips tight and to have little interaction with their kind as much as possible (not that Huffman heeds those warnings). BUT, the people from Natlan...now what would they want with the knights?

He sighed, smiling softly for having his guard up so quickly when they were just out and about having a drink. No need to start accusing and thinking the other had ill intentions, yet.

❝ Ah, forgive me for the change in demeanor. It isn't often I'm able to speak freely with a man such as yourself, Roy. You caught me a little off guard. Here I thought I was talking to a mere traveler... ❞ a pause, ❝ ...should I be worried more of your sister then? If you are the right hand, I can only assume that, Seraphina was it, is the left? ❞

Watching the tavern doors open, Diluc already had a feeling it would be a Knight. High ponytail up and high and donning the white vest while cleaning a glass. “Charles needed it today. Elzer had requested to see him today for some reason, but I did not pique his thought process of why he requires my bartender. But I have not served anyone in a while.”

He sprained his wrist recently while masking as the dark hero, hiding the pain well. “… hmph. What shall I be serving you today? Our spring flavors are in of a Valberry punch. It’s only limited as we were very lucky to obtain the harvesting without them dying.

“Or would you prefer a normal glass of dandelion wine? Or the house special of a Windwheel Astor?” A drink Venti named after tasting its cultivating flavor, the bard teasing Diluc over it. “It is filled with fermented grape with berries and tinted with mint and lemon. I highly advise to not mix it with any sweetening such as chocolate since it’ll ruin the flavor.”

❝ As tempting as a Dandelion Wine is...perhaps a Windwheel Astor would be lovely this time around, ❞ Huffman gave an awkward smile and chuckle, almost ashamed to order a dandelion wine on its own after his embarrassment a few occasions ago. He’d rather not be reminded of the implication that he wasn’t taking his job seriously because of a simple drink...and he didn’t want to start running his mouth again.

With a smile, the knight leaned against the table, watching Diluc as he worked.

❝ Buuuuut I didn't even realize spring has already come around, has the year gone by that quickly? ❞ a jest as they were in an eternal spring, but Huffman was well aware of the seasons due to the seasonal inventory he keeps. Although, valberries were not quite in the area of his expertise as they had limited usage in his particular line of work...

❝ Have the valberries not been producing well lately, the boars nearby shouldn’t be causing problems... ❞

His eyes narrowed slightly. If there were reports of destruction to some of the fields by any creatures (or monsters)...it should have been reported to the knights. Should, being the key word. Or perhaps Huffman was just not informed on the situation. Or, more likely, he was just overthinking the situation...like he always does.
