Okay so I have a thought/headcanon about Spy X Family.

Anya always does a little hand pat on people when she notices they're upset as a comfort. Which is super cute.

But what's even cuter is, I think she got is from Loid.

In the first episode, when he officially decides to keep her after rescuing her from the thugs, he acknowledges it by putting his hand on her head:

And then in episode 2, when Anya gets worried that Loid having her is preventing him from finding a wife, he again reaches out and rubs her head while assuring her it's not her fault:

He also pats her head in the episode after she gets accepted into Eden and she tells him she's going to do her best.

I think there's some others but I don't feel like trying to find them 😅

Anyway, I think Anya pats people to comfort them because she felt loved when Loid did it to her. I would guess she's never really been given physical affection before, and so Loid doing that made an impact on her, and that's why she does it to others.

Unpopular TDLOSK opinion (I’m late to the party sorry you can delete this if the time frame ended)

Toritsuka displayed traits of hyper sexuality ever since he was a literal child.

Ever since he was a literal child left alone in the care of a bunch of strangers [tho the monks probably don’t have the same implications as if he was dumped off at some catholic priest training temple thing? idk I know nothing about religion]

Anyway what I’m saying here is tori survived CSA & hes been acting out sexually to cope ever since.

That's an interesting and plausible theory. I think that on top of being sexually repressed by the monks and touch being the only way he can tell if people are living would definitely explain Toritsuka's actions.

Despite there being no new SxF anime planned as of now, new collabs are still popping up, along with lovely new illustrations ❤️

Idk if you're still taking unpopular opinions.. however, I've got one that's unpopular not because it's a hot take, but because it's such small stakes that nobody but me cares lmao

Koriki #2 in the original speaks in the Kansai dialect. It seems like a pretty important part of her character! It's even mentioned in the title of her introduction chapter! It's preserved in the manga translation (somewhat, as a "country accent", which is a common way to translate the Kansai dialect into English), but not the anime. I get it, because it'd probably be annoying in the subtitles. But I, Tumblr user Hillbilly---Man, kinda wish there was a character who sounded like me lmfao

Ohh, another unpopular opinion I have is that I cannot fucking stand the way people blorbo-ify the fuck out of Kaido and Toritsuka. Neither of these characters are innocent little babies (one less than the other, but it applies to both nonetheless) and should NOT be treated as such. It's insane to me how people can justify Toritsuka sexually harassing people (and inappropriately touching chiyo without her consent) and Kaido being a massive dick LOL.

I love both of these characters and it isn't THAT serious, but there are ways to like them without pretending like their wrongdoings either didn't happen or were somehow okay.

I do not believe asshole and babygirl have to be mutually exclusive. They can and should coexist.

I do like Hii & Takumi but they’re kinda unnecessary imo. Because they appear late in the story, they aren’t really fully flesh out and don’t have enough chapters to explore their character more.

I think the 4 or 5 chapters they spent on Hii and Takumi would be better spent on more Imu/Kusuke/Akechi instead since those three doesn’t have nearly enough screen time

We could always use more Imu and Akechi. But I'm happy we have Hii and Takumi because I think they are really cute characters. Every character in Saiki K deserves to be fleshed out more

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I. Hate Anpu with all of my heart. His voice is physically degrading to my ears and there’s nothing redeeming him in my eyes other than him being a cat

Anpu is 50/50. Sometimes I love him, sometimes I want to kick him into the sun. Honestly I was expecting someone to have this opinion

Thinking,,, one of the things Kusuo had feared most happening during the Cat Tank arc, where someone he had "friendly feelings" towards gets roped into his life. Thinking about how he watched his body get stripped and his brother wanted to see more. Thinking about how it kept flashing back to when Kusuke gave him the limiters he turned it into a competition, telling him to protect his right one "even if it kills you," and how the manga shows them constantly fighting for it, showing Kusuo even waking up to Kusuke's 'games'. Thinking about Kusuo's stupid little "...Toritsuka...don't..." when he was standing there bleeding, and about how Kusuke had to instantly reassure him as he knocked out Toritsuka because he knew his little brother would go haywire if he thought for even a second that he'd killed him.

Thinking about how Kusuo took out his right limiter in the end, saying he "caused trouble" by living the life he wanted, in front of one of the people who originally planted the idea that he could hurt people just by existing in his head. Thinking about how the "trouble" wasn't even really Kusuo's fault, he just took on the blame for it because it all tied back into him just trying to exist and have friends.

Ugh, and the way Kusuke helped him with his pants, and how Kusuo—at his simultaneous strongest and most vulnerable—didn't even fuss, and the way his eyes shone when Kusuo promised to keep being his playmate,,, because he'd underestimated his little brother's ability to learn and grow just by having the support of other people, and how much Kusuo would let slide against him when it comes to the people he needs in his life.

saw ur post bout unpopular saiki opinions, I js want to say, I luv teruhashi, but SOME of her stans (esp on TikTok) are so insufferable and annoying they make me want to hate her out of spite

I don't have tiktok so I'm not sure what her fans on there are like. From what I know, saiki k fandoms on other sites don't get the characters like we do. Teruhashi is amazing. Out of spite and love for Teruhashi we have to appreciate her the correct way.

I'm not very immersed in the fandom yet (saiki k fans please follow me) but my opinion is that I think the female characters are very underrated. I see so much focus on the male characters but not as much on the female characters and I think they need love too.

Again, I'm not too immersed in the fandom so I could be completely wrong about my perception of it but yeah

I've had this exact same thought. I think it's partly because the female characters aside from Teruhashi don't get nearly as much screen time as the male characters. That just means it's our job to flesh out their personalities with headcanons and analysis. The saiki k girls are all wonderful and I love them so much.
