in a mood that is making me small but I'm also still in tma world. editing my third agere jonelias fic, even.

so. genuine question that I don't understand: why is elias in most agere fics such a, such a—butthole. like. are you telling me?? he wouldn't take advantage of the opportunity to gain trust and dependence on him ESPECIALLY if its jon whose regressing??

like yeah hes mean but hes also clever. n patient. why would he be just Cruel for No Reason. he doesn't DO cruel for no reason!!!! hes always got a reason when he's being mean!!! why would he be mean to a regressor!! if nothing else its not very keeping up appearances of a normal boss!!

i just. idunno. i like elias. i think he's misinterpreted a lot. yeah hes mean n evil but not needlessly so. n it's not very manipulation to just be super duper evil at someone for no real reason other than upsetting them. like you don't Gotta make someone regressing at work more scared they're prolly already feeding the eye with their fear someone will notice. n if he's not taking care (fair) (can only rly see him doing this with jon) i think he'd just Ignore The Regressor rather than being a butthole about it

🖍️caregiver darth maul headcanons

→ he’s a super protective caregiver, even if he is not one to pander to being unreasonable, but he is fiercely protective over whoever he’s looking after. somebody looks at them wrong? he’s there to loom angrily.

→ much to anybody else’s surprise, he’s actually so much fun to play games with. once he gets past the initial awkwardness of adjusting to playing, he’s so willing to listen to his kid ramble and describe all sorts to him, periodically chiming in when appropriate.

→ he tells such good stories, even if the stories usually aren’t super kid friendly, or particularly peaceful; they’re always exciting and they always have a happy ending. 9/10 if he tells the stories before bedtime, the kiddos out like a light before the first ones over.

→ he’s so good at handling big feelings of anxiety, being overwhelmed / overtired, or anything similar to that. despite what some people would think, he’s able to be especially calming when it comes to that sort of thing. he’s really good at adapting to what the kid needs at the exact time.

→ he’s not the most outwardly/easily affectionate person - much preferring to try and comfort and interact from a slight distance - but he has no issue hands-on comforting when he needs to, even if it’s just for something little like wanting a cuddle. he gives some of the best hugs imaginable, when he’s done being awkward about it.

Elias knows, even without Looking, that the rest of this meeting isn't going to be productive.

Tendrils of fog are creeping into his office, getting on his nerves perhaps more than it should—he knows perfectly well that like this, Peter's control isn't as good as it ought to be.

He notes Peter's fingers curled around the edge of his thick coat, the way his gaze has become a little more distant than usual. (Familiar habits, from centuries spent working with the Lukases. Peter takes after Mordechai in this more than the rest of his family, however.)

"You're fogging up my office. We'll continue this tomorrow, Peter."

The man offers the barest suggestion of a smile. "Right." And without any further words—unusual for Peter, given how he does seem to enjoy playing at humanity—he makes his way out of the office, shutting the door behind him.

Once more, he considers telling Peter what it is he's experiencing. But then again, even if he really cared to, he's sure the man wouldn't appreciate any more intervention than this.

regressor peter lukas headcanons

doesn't know what age regression is, probably thinks it's just an effect of his patron

doesn't have a clear regressed age; just small

when he feels small, he just sits on his bed and holds a pillow: he doesn't do much except want. very occasionally, he'll sit on the deck of the tundra and watch the sea, instead.

sometimes, feeling the texture of his beard manages to get a hint of a smile from him

it's a very Lonely experience for him—he feels more disconnected from everyone else than usual

elias knows, of course, but doesn't much care to help, even just by telling him what's going on. though, he does offer the kindness of cutting their meetings short if peter's starting to regress.

peter, of course, is too relieved (and yet strangely upset) to think anything of it
