Is that black hedgehog Sonic’s been seen with sometimes related to him or something? I mean what are the odds of another hedgehog being that fast randomly and not being family? I’ve seen some blurry pictures of the hedgehog mixed in with Sonic ones, I don’t think people always notice the differences when the quality’s on the lower side and the lighting’s bad, since it’s so hard to get a pic at all anyways.

I suppose I’ve never considered that- Sonic has so many speedster doppelgängers that a relative could get lost in the crowd. Personally I believe that the black hedgehog was created by the Black Arms during the invasion, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t related- after all, they had to get hedgehog DNA from somewhere, right?

WHO is the bat and the black and red one PLEASE I’ve seen them hanging around Sonic like three times now and the forums have NOTHING. all I’ve got to go off is that they’re always spotted with an E-series badnik but that’s IT.

The first time I saw them they were fighting Sonic so I figured they were some of his enemies but the other two times they seemed to be working together? I’m so CONFUSED, esp since no one else seems to know who they are either???

Yeahhhh, there’s almost no information about these guys- to the point where some spotters call them “Team Dark”. I have theories, so I’m going to lay out the information we have (including some personal experience!) so we can draw the connections.

First off, we have Rouge the Bat- at least, I assume. Photos of her in the field look quite similar to the proprietor of Club Rouge.

Next we have the E-series badnik. It is… very unclear what their deal is. Most sightings involve them creating mass chaos, although mainly in the process of destroying other robots made by Dr. Robotnik. There is one photo of them being friendly (?) with Rouge and the other member of Team Dark, which leads a lot of people to believe that they are an ally of Sonic, if a chaotic one.

And finally, we have this person:

Other than the fact that they are yet another doppelgänger of Sonic- this time created by the Black Arms during their invasion- we know almost nothing about them. They participated intermittently in the Black Arms invasion, but must have switched sides, since after the incident they have been spotted interacting with Sonic- mostly racing, occasionally aiding him, sometimes clashing with him. Despite this inconsistency, Sonic seems to trust them.

The "Miles Prower" being "Tails"'s dad thing is so fucking funny to me. The idea of Sonic being asked and considering correcting people but deciding that no, it's funnier this way, is in fact very in character I think. I like to think he'd read spotter blogs and add his own bullshit 'theories' from time to time just for fun.

Oh he definitely does. Tails is in on it too, they enjoy reading bizarre takes and brainstorming more bullshit.

Are you sure the beast isn't related to Sonic somehow? Someone supernatural like Sonic would definitely have some supernatural family members as well.

That’s actually a common theory- there are enough Sonic lookalikes that many people think they are simply part of Sonic’s extended family. We don’t know anything about the Blue Blur’s origins, so the theory makes sense, even if it’s not my personal favorite. If that is the case, it would make sense why Sonic doesn’t talk about them, since all his potential family members tend to be evil.

How old even is the fox kit and rabbit?

I don’t feel comfortable guessing their exact ages, but they seem pretty young.

I’ve actually seen the fox kit semi-frequently at the library where I work. He usually picks up books for himself as well as some titles that, given their reading level, must be for his dad or Sonic. He’s quite a voracious reader, and very polite! Always good to see him.

I think I saw Sonic the other day, and it’s so cool that he’s taking up rollerblading!

I was on a walk around Westopolis (after all the rebuilding efforts it’s honestly nicer than it’s ever been), when a figure skated past me so fast that by the time I blinked once they were gone. I didn’t get too great a look but I did clearly see they were wearing rollerblades, which I think are so cool. I’d think Sonic wouldn’t really need them but there’s no one else I can think of that could go that fast, so I figure it must’ve been him! He did look a little different (darker? redder?) than usual, but maybe it was just a trick of the light, or he’s trying out a new style along with the new hobby!

Fascinating, I had no idea! It sounds like the perfect hobby for him though. And congrats on spotting him!

It’s probably a trick of the light- something about Sonic’s fur color makes it look black sometimes. That was part of the confusion when Sonic was wanted before the ARK incident- the photos they used happened to make him look almost a fully different color. (There are conspiracy theories that the photos were of a different hedgehog altogether, but given that we have no information on this theoretical doppelgänger, and the frequency of Sonic appearing black, they seem to have no basis in reality.)

Hey do you know what's up with that white hedgehog who is sometimes seen around sonic.

Most of the sonic spotters I have asked on this topic either haven't seen him or don't know anything about him.

There are only like 10 images of them, and about half of them have objects floating around them. There's even an image of them in a field completely covered in soot despite the person who took it saying there isn't a factory or powerplant around for miles!

Do you have any ideas who this individual is or any theories about who they can be?

Hey! That sounds like Silver the Hedgehog, an ally of Sonic. He shows up occasionally, and while rather forceful when on missions, has talked to the public on occasion, which is how we know his name.

The soot is probably a result of his pyrokinesis. He’s frequently spotted with a purple cat, who was probably levitating the objects you mentioned with her psychokinesis. Both of them show up infrequently enough that they probably hail from somewhere internationally.

sonic has a large group of friends doesnt he? im not one to keep up with this kinds of things, but im curious to know if you know anything about these friends of his? are they as powerful as him? i heard some of them even have super forms as well, is it true?

Sonic is a friendly guy. His most well-known friend is Amy Rose. They’re pretty close; I think they’re cousins? It’s quite sweet.

Less frequently, Sonic hangs out with a red tenrec. We don’t know much about him, just that he’s strong, quiet, and seems to have anger issues.

Those seem to be his main friends his age. He’s been seen a lot with a fox kit and a young rabbit. There are a lot of cute photos of him and the fox. Maybe the Blue Blur picked up a babysitting gig?

In fact, it’s quite likely that Sonic is watching his pilot’s kid. His pilot is Miles Prower, a mechanic and scientist who’s behind several recent engineering breakthroughs. By all accounts they spend a lot of time together outside of missions- perhaps Sonic sees him as a mentor? We don’t know a ton about their dynamic; but they do make a great team.

Those are his main friends, at least that we know of. I’m going to cover some less well-known friends in other posts soon 😊.
