Hello! I took the liberty to edit the Volume 11 page of the Wiki, since it was pretty much a copy of the Volume 10 page, except for the summary and the GAIDEN. Now it's fixed.
👍🏾 thanks my man!

Hi, I saw you had translated a part from one of these official "Soul Eater Fan books". Do you know if there is a place with the info/interviews from them translated or atleast summarised?
Nope. Regarding the official fan books, I actually bought them myself and whatever information on the wiki on them are from me running it through translation stuff.

Reminder that generally speaking, when it comes to the “wiki saying xyz”, especailly for shipping, 9/10 times It’s not really the “wiki” (be it a analogue for me [the most notable contributor] or the community) and sometimes, it’s old shit I haven’t gotten around to deleting and/or revising because we are 1,000+ pages and counting right now.

I’m actually not a fan of how Fire Force is a prequel to Soul Eater even though as a wiki editor, I have to acknowledge it honestly. And for a prequel, it answers literally next to nothing.
I’d be fine with it IF it wasn’t for the fact the characters actually crossed over into it & it was just a separate world/universe. Multiverse in SE confirmed there you go. But now, I have to look at world building details like the first weapon in human history being found in Africa because Excalibur & Arthur are literally at the beginning of the New World.
It sounds minor but the point is I have to reconceputalize any world building details and fit it….and it was easier with the mindset that Soul Eater’s universe is more similar to our own with wacky hijinks into it.

I’ve been absent for quite some time but because the English translation for Soul Eater: Monotone Princess was done months ago by a fan team, I’ve decided to finally get around to cataloguing it.
Keep an eye out on any anime version of pages and/or the Monotone Princess arc page specifically; I am making pages on every scenario and at some point, I WILL be posting pictures, videos, and whatnot. I’ll be sure to feed y’all very nicely for 2022 especially after the lackluster that is 2021.
So far, I have done maybe three side quests (one was ongoing before I got the translation iso version of the game. I still have my saved progress so that’s a plus!) and I have a separate file save so I can replay a Franken Stein boss battle and create video! So I hope you all look forward to this.
And lastly, this also means I’ll likely be updating more anime-related content. It’s pretty fun considering that it the anime’s world is different from the manga and likely the side stories will address things fans always thought about. Even one story I did focused on Tsubaki and how she honors her brother after death! And I’m always game for more Tsubaki-related stories. --Jay

I've recently heard that Gopher's gender wasn't specified in the original Japanese text. From my miniscule knowledge of the language, I don't think gendering is comparable to English in many contexts, so I don't know how conclusively to take this information, or if it holds any water to begin with. The wiki lists Gopher as male with no source/reference, presumably due to the Yen Press translation, and I was wondering if you knew anything/had any input regarding this. Thanks!
Far as I was aware, I thought Gopher was male due to Yen Press translation using male pronouns.
Unlike Crona, his gender wasn’t questioned or anything special in universe. I generally don’t like to question the gender of a character with effeminate qualities if text uses male pronouns & vice versa. Plenty of regular guys have feminine qualities to varying degrees. We also have trans people who may have transitioned or are currently transitioning. I deliberately avoid that habit much as I can.
If that is the case and I’m shown proof that Gopher isn’t having gendered pronouns when being referred to, I’ll gladly make the necessary changes quickly.

I used to think a grigori soul was somehow linked to the anti-demon wavelength (as in Maka), but upon reread, it seems to only give one the ability of flight. Do you think Ragnarok is a grigori? We do see his soul depicted with wings on at least one occasion.
No.
In terms of presentation, Ragnarok’s wings seem to correspond to his Real Black Dragon form; given the names & his defeat use of it, I believe it’s more related to that than him having a grigori soul. Also, he doesn’t manifest wings the same way Maka/Soul, Gopher, Anime!Tsugumi, & Poners does; by design, they all look like magical and a form of energy whereas it is considered an extension of his black blood.
With that said, i’ll take a look in the guidebook about that particular form.

It's been a while but I do plan on trying at some point. I'll just be very busy with work and school until like thanksgiving day and after most likely. >.> *SIGH*

Heyo there! This might be like an odd thing to ask, but I noticed it only yesterday:
Mifune could be considered a Kurosawa reference? Him being a bodyguard samurai with a twig in his mouth? I'm getting those vibes from him. It's either Kurosawa or Leone, I'm getting those vibes.
I need confirmation for this type of theory.
Hard to say; TVTropes sort of defines this as "Oral Fixation" and generally, it is used to denote a character being a juvenile delinquent; in this case, Mifune is a known employed gangster bodyguard in the past. The fact it is done, alone, isn't enough for me to consider it a reference to a particular anything. Probably helps If I know what exactly you're referencing.

It probably makes more sense if you recall throughout the series, Kid’s existence early on wasn’t really known.
The translated Social Studies Field Trip also had dialogue from Maka that noted most people didn’t know he was a shinigami to the point knowing it off the bat is considered pretty sus. In the DWMA, until he was firmly a student, even the Librarian didn’t know he’s Lord Death’s son. Only higher ups knew of Kid. Fisher King only found out after making a off hand comment about Lord Death & Kid angered.
If you notice too, the characters that know him by nature were witches, Mosquito, and Noah beyond the upper echelon of DWMA. Asura is a more known public entity than Kid himself throughout the series until perhaps towards the end.
Speculation: Lord Death probably kept his existence under the wraps for his safety & he does have a uncanny resemblance to Asura. 🧐
You know, I still don't really understand how Death the Kid, Maka and Blackstar don't know each other from the beginning of the story.
I mean Spirit has worked with Lord Death for years, so Maka and Kid would be familiar with each other for at least a little before the story takes place, or they would even be childhood friends
And then Blackstar was retrieved by the DWMA as a complete infant and raised by Sid since then, which adds him to the above just the same
I don't know, it just doesn't make sense to me

It’s really no big dealio. Im not shy from confronting or getting criticism alone. ✌🏾
Concerning sources though, I will say that right now, i’m not convinced about changing the wording when it comes to the interview though. The only reason being is that adding that it “‘may not” be accurate is speculative in itself & IS a stance also. Rather than that, the point is “that’s what he said in 2008”. Also, Stein/Marie’s development is spoken of & treated differently.
ANYWAY, I appreciate you getting back to me & being very civil. I’m not shy about being reblogged (i like others ti contribute for more perspectives) but you can also DM me on @jayaaerow.
So, can anyone tell me why the correlations page of the Soul Eater wiki in relation to Soul and Maka is so weirdly misleading lmao?
For starters, it claims that:
Tumblr media
It says Soul explicitly said he didn’t have romantic feelings for Maka at some point. Me trying to use the wiki to find resources for my comic I’m putting way too much effort into, I’m like 👀
So I went to check out the resource, which comes from an audio drama:
Tumblr media
Now this seems pretty far from objectively saying “I have no feelings for you” and most of all, it feels out of context. So I did what any reasonable person would do and went and listened to the audio drama myself and reviewed a translation of it.
I’d say not only is the information just blatantly wrong, the audio drama has Kim saying the EXACT OPPOSITE:
Tumblr media
So, weird interpretation. Not sure how the author of this particular wiki page got that presumption but it does annoy me that it’s so misleading when the wiki is obviously a place a lot of folk will go to for reference.
Another point of contention I have is that it uses this as another point for why they aren’t and will never be canon:
Tumblr media
See anything peculiar about this? This statement came from 2008. The manga ended in 2014 and we know Stein and Marie literally conceive a kid together lmaoo, so obviously that’s just, a no longer true statement.
Since the Audio Drama takes places after the infiltration of Baba Yaga and this site is up to date on relevant information, it’s just VERY weird to me how this section is coming off in such a biased way — like it’s almost being written in a way deter shipping, even though the official source it used was probably one of the heaviest proponents of support for the ship in question.
This is a non problem and I just needed to complain about it to folk I know might find some interest in it lmao, I don’t wanna keep bugging my friends with my current hyperfixation on Soul Eater. That is to say SHIP THEM ALL YOU WANT BABES.
Also that audio drama was great. If anyone wants to hear it themselves with the translation, I can link it. 🥰
