Agreed. I worked at CVS for a year, and I was always the one that would be called on my one day off to cover because someone didn't show up. A single person was left running the store one day, and the manager somehow made it my fault because I was out of state on time I scheduled off.

To anyone considering applying to CVS, DONT DO IT. you are pressured into giving up your meal breaks (meal breaks are legally required,depending on state laws), and they intentionally understaff so they have less people they have to pay. It's not just a store level problem. Corporate allots total hours to be given to a location based on the store's performance and adherence to the previous weeks allotted hours. If more people are scheduled than corporate will give you a budget for, they cut the allowed hours even more heavily the next week. The store I worked at regularly would be in a position where it was only two people working in the front end maximum at any time, and meal breaks weren't allowed (because you can't leave the store alone with one employee running the front). Per store rules, we couldn't eat food behind the counter, so you guessed it, people would go without food. Given, going without a meal while on the clock is one thing, but to be forced to not have your legally required meal break is just straight up criminal.
