A) yes, in all cases

B) no, sometimes that happens

C) nuance, it depends on the story. Writing a gay kid falling madly in love with his straight best friend isn’t inherently homophobic, unless that “straight best friend” character is also written ambiguously and hard to read (like Mike)

D) nuance #2, it’s not so much about how the “straight best friend” is written because sometimes people and characters can be confusing. It’s mainly about the marketing

here is where i might be the asshole.

i told the room at large that i wanted to listen to taylor swift and queued the song. one of my coworkers turns out to be a swiftie and got excited because i don't listen to music most people know. the song plays and it is taylor swift by enjoy music club. my coworker got a little sad and called me mean but, i didn't lie and it was just the one song.
