She could almost predict what her boyfriend was going to say word for word. That didn’t change the fact that she didn’t want to talk about it. Morgan could give a list of reasons she didn’t want to talk about it, but the main one was that they were not the same. Loki had no control, no choice when Thanos took over his mind. She did have a choice. People warned her, more than one person warned her that this wasn’t going to end well, and she decided to continue anyway. She chose to continue with her program and her research, her confidence in herself and her abilities blinding her judgement, and now the world would suffer the consequences. They were not the same.
Morgan dares to look away from the screen, her hand tightening in his as he continues to speak about everything that happened after she showed him her file proving that Thanos was behind it all, proving that Loki was mind-controlled. Those days weren’t on the list of her favourite memories either, but the more he talked about it, the worse she felt. The situations were utterly different, choice and no choice. No one held a gun to Morgan’s head, no one took over her mind, she made the decision knowing the risks, she did this.
❛ We aren’t the same. ❜ She breathes, pulling her hand gently out of his. ❛ You had no choice. I did. More than one person warned me about the risk I was taking, what the consequences could be. I made the choice because I was overconfident in my ability to keep it under control. I did this. All of this is a direct result of my choice. ❜ Her attention turns back to her screen. ❛ I’m not stopping until I fix it. I don’t care how long it takes.❜
"But that's not how I see it. You may have been warned, but your intentions were just. You were working towards SAVING lives, Morgan. Even if you don't see the comparison, I do. You were also used against your will. They didn't have the right to use YOUR program like this. Not while it was intended to save lives instead. You did everything you could to keep it from them. Midgard needs people like you, Morgan. If everyone would be scared to create these programs, things would never progress." Loki said.
"Do you...have ANY idea WHO stole it?" The God then asked. Oh he was definitely planning on stopping this. Midgard may not think of him as a hero, in fact, most knew him as the villain who all but destroyed New York. But, if it meant helping his girlfriend ( and saving lives ) Loki was prepared to do pretty much anything. Not that he'd tell her about that.
