it was so hard to focus on the way henrietta was talking so passionately about the many subcultures when she was sitting down on your lap, pressing the large powder brush under your eyes to set the almost done makeup she was working on you. she kept talking and talking, your eyes wondering from her eyes to her soft lips, her words becoming nonsense to you, only focusing on the way her black matte painted lips moved. “y/n, are you even listening to me right now?” she asked in her usual monotonous tone. you hummed softly, looking up to her eyes for a brief moment. “sorry, i got distracted,” you nervously laughed while adjusting your position on bed “what were you saying?” the girl with darker hair just rolled her eyes, her lips curling into a smile.

“i was briefly explaining the differences between goths and emos. this belt you’re wearing is neither goth or emo, it’s more scene,” she spoke softly while opening her black matte lipstick, leaning closer to your face, the tip of the applicator brushing slightly against your lips. “even though i don’t really like scene fashion, i have to admit that you look good with this belt.” your eyes went wide open because of her sweet words, feeling flustered. “is that so? i didn’t even thought about it when i bought it, i just think it was cute. i still have a lot to learn about… right?” henrietta just nod after your comment, her index finger rubbing slightly your jaw to keep your head in place. “don’t move your mouth to much, i’m going to mess up.” she ordered.

with her thumb finger she brushes slightly the corner of your lips to wipe off the excess. “all done, you look great.” she took the small mirror that rested on her nightstand right next to her bed so you could take a look at her makeup. once you looked at yourself on the reflection of the mirror you gasped in shock and excitement. it was the traditional 90’s goth makeup look and it looked great on you, henrietta was a really good makeup artist. “this looks amazing! you’re so good at this, teach me your ways.” the goth girl just shrugged her shoulders, obviously embarrassed because of your praise that she secretly adored. “it’s whatever, let me take a picture of you to send it to the group chat.”

you slightly nod your head, henrietta bucking slightly her hips to pull away from your lap while you adjusted your position in bed, brushing some strains of your hair behind your ears so that the makeup could be even more visible to the camera. “don’t touch your hair to much, you’re going to mess the hairstyle.” you pushed your fingertips away from your hair once your best friend took her phone to take some flash pictures of you, giggling at the way you posed so silly every time the flash of the camera lighted your pretty features. “you look so good.” a faint shade of crimson decorated your cheeks because of your friend's vague compliment. “i’m sending this pictures to the group chat, they will love your new look.” you peeked trough your friends shoulder, the dim light of her cellphone adorning both of your features as you watched how she sent the images to the group.
