Long time no talk! I went on a vacation for a few weeks and came back to a bit of a mess in my tanks. But now the shrimp are booming so I figured a rescape would be good :)

Trying an experiment with some of my shrimp. The handful left in the 5 gallon are being feed bloodworms to see if they develop a darker red than the ones in the 20 gallon

So I’m not gonna lie, I’m kind of a blasphemous shrimp keeper and those practices have come back to bite me in the last few weeks. I don’t test water conditions and kinda just let the tank do it’s thing. As a result though, I have lost quite a few of my adult shrimp (that I can see) and possible babies as well. Currently I have a berried shrimp so I have hope, but I think it’s time I put a little more effort into keeping these little guys because I want to see them thrive not just live happily.

I’m laughing because these babies will be full grown before I’m back from my trip. Boy was I dreaming lol there are still about 10 juvenile shrimp in the 5 gallon but the rest are in the 20 gallon. They’ll move before I’m gone in a few days

Babies are holding on, despite losing 2 adults for some reason…possibly trouble molting? Hopefully these babies are all “grown” up for the move to the 20 gallon before the middle of July

Pretty happy with how this part of my tank is growing out currently; however, my water wisteria has pretty much melted in my tank...I think in two weeks it will have started growing some

More baby/adolescent photos. Most of the shrimp have since been moved to the 20 gallon to grow out and hopefully breed. As of right now though they are hiding.
