from moving away to wiping away johns kisses, i raise you avoiding all affection.
No cuddles, no kisses, no nothing, can be a joke/prank or can be because reader is overwhelmed, who’s to say.
All we know is john is practically having a war with himself over it because he as absolutely no idea if it’s a prank or there’s something wrong and wants to know how to help
(John price is husband material and a cuddly but violent teddy bear and i will die on this hill defending it)
You and I will stand back to back on this hill, defending it.
Honestly when it comes to avoiding affection though, I think he can tell if it is because you’re overwhelmed. There are signs at that point and John is a very intuitive man.
If he realises you’re moving away for that reason? He’s backing off. He won’t touch or kiss you, and if he does he asks permission first. This man loves you to death and will not stand for him adding to your discomfort.
Part of his love language may be physical touch, but his whole love consists of making you happy. He’ll keep back if that is what it takes.
Snacks? You got it. Quiet? He’ll go do paperwork or read a book beside you if you let him. If you want to be left alone, he’ll do that too but periodically check on you.
There is affection in listening to each other’s needs. And John Price is an expert in it.
Now. If you do it to mess with him? Well he is indeed unsure whether it is another one of your recurring pranks, or you’re mad at him.
Given the lighter nature of the last few however, I do believe he’ll lean with you being mad at him.
However, an affection deprived John Price is a moody John Price.
If you were actually mad at him it would not help at all. He’ll see reason soon enough though and try to talk through it with you. However that becomes a problem if you do it for a prank.
You act completely normal, but when he sits beside you, you scoot away. You smile and laugh with him like always, but when he tries to hug you, you stop him and pretend nothing is wrong. And when he tries to kiss you?
This man is gonna look like a kicked puppy.
Do it for long enough and I can guarantee that he will start begging for answers, for just a hug, only a kiss, just for you to talk with him. Cause after all, there must be something going on.
Once again if you do finally reveal it to be a prank, boy howdy does he get grumpy.
Man’s mind was in a tizzy, trying to figure out what he did wrong, and all this time you were playing him for a fool.
He might hole himself up in his office for a bit, mad. But that won’t last. After all, he’s been deprived of affection for all this time, and he can’t deprive himself any longer.
He’d walk up behind you and just wrap his arms around your waist, pulling you in while burying his head against the back of your neck. “I’m still mad at you.” He’d grumble. But having you in his arms again is too good.
Expect a pouty and needy Price who won’t let you do shit. After all, you deprived him and now he wants to make up for the lost time.
Grab a snack, put on a movie, and prepare to be stuck to his hip for the foreseeable future.

Frank comes home to you with more bruises and cuts than he left home with, which, given his daily routine, would somehow still be surprising to you.
Frank closes the bedroom door slowly. Your figure was barely visible. If not for the moonlight shining through the window, he wouldn't be able to see you.
His pillow would be clutched tight between your arms. Fuck.
For a few moments, Frank stood still in the darkness, looking at you, lips fallen into a natural pout, face all soft, relaxed but hands wound tight around his pillow, your nose burrowed in it. He felt his heart skip a beat.
Fists clenching and then un-cleclenching. He felt unease wash over him. The cuts and bruises start to sting and throb as the adrenaline leaves his system.
His face was a bitch to handle. Left eye barely open. Nose with a cut across, right cheek scratched with probably some debris still etched into his skin. And heaven knows what the dried blood would look like.
He felt his lip twitch ruefully. His physical pain would be nothing compared to the sadness in your eyes when you saw him like this.
The horror of his violence would make your breathing labored. The way you would try to scan him head to toe, trying really hard not to sob into your hands after seeing his skin barely holding onto his bones. His grimace of pain for a split second would break your dam of control, tears flowing freely and hands trying to pet his unbroken skin.
Throughout your inspection, Frank would try to gently tell you he's fine, that it doesn't even hurt. But the way his mouth barely moved because of gash on his lips would make you cry harder.
He would give up trying to sugarcoat everything that's wrong with his body. He would just stare at you with a sadness so deep that it would rattle his bones to the core. And before he could once again utter the words of being sorry and not enough, you would shush him and give him a look so pointed that he would shut up and sit down.
Even with the red eyes, splochy face, and tear tracks on your face, that one look would be enough for him to hold his tongue.
The next hour would be spent in silence. The cuts would be cleaned, and split open skin would be sewn back together. The shower would be ready with steam escaping the bathroom door.
When he would come out, he knew you would be in the kitchen, making him some chamomile tea. You both knew it would not do shit but both of you would still pretend that it was relaxing and helping him calm down. And he would down that shit because he knew you needed it. Need to feel a bit of control in this whole situation.
Then you would both just exist in the same space of your small kitchen. Not touching, not talking, just looking at each other. You would be mapping his entire body with your eyes. It was as if you saw him for the first time and the last time. The wonder, awe, fear everything would be tenfold, but that was your way of dealing with him and his punisher.
He would sit still, his eyes not leaving your face, the fear that maybe this is it. This would be your last ditch effort to mend him back together. But as soon as his eyes met yours, the fear would dissipate. The love shining in your eyes somehow made his pain disappear.
Frank would hold you close and breathe you in. His mind would be quiet, and there would be peace for him in that instance.
Many times, even after this, that small kitchen would be his solace. The tragedy of his life would disappear for a while, and he would be just Frank. Your Frank. And you would be his. His girl.

I just had this thought but-
Price absolutely hates corner of the mouth kisses.
Not that he genuinely doesn’t like them, but if you were to give him one, he simply cannot function unless you make it a proper kiss.
If it were his cheek he’d be fine, he gives those to you all the time. But the corner of his mouth?? It’s too close, that’s just a tease. And he won’t stand for that.
You have to get to work and are rushing, kissing him goodbye on the corner of his mouth? He’s grabbing your arm and pulling you back in for a proper kiss before sending you on your way.
You’re drunk and accidentally miss his lips, giggling after? He’s grinning softly and cupping your chin, turning your head straight on to face him before he leans in to kiss you proper.
The two of you are laying in bed, cuddling and you lean up and press a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth? His hand is cupping the back of your neck, holding it sweetly and tilting your head up so that he can softly kiss you, pulling your body closer to his with his other hand.
Doesn’t matter when or why or how. Even if you just had a full on make-out session and you end it with a kiss to the corner of his lips? He’s making sure to get one more proper kiss for good measure.
He just can’t get enough of you, and that little half-kiss just doesn’t do anything justice.
