So glad I stumble upon your ad, and I am hoping to join soon but I needed a little assistance if you don't mind. I'm looking into playing a spacey, slightly loony, female but I can't quite come up with an fc, any suggestions?
We don’t mind! This one was a bit of a hard one, but hopefully these suggestions were close to what you were looking for? Former IOI Kim Sohye, Ahn Sohee, A Pink Yoon Bomi, or Blackpink Rosé.

quick question, i know it says minors cannot be aged up, but is it okay to have someone of age be under eighteen in the roleplay as long as the 3 year age limit is abided by ( ie. a 97 line idol being a 99 line in the roleplay) ? i know all admins are different about this, so i wanted to ask!
Yes, that’s perfectly fine! Adjusting the age of a face +/- 3 years is allowed in all situations except for minors being aged up.

Greetings citizens! Your little admin team wanted to give you a heads up that, now that we’ve gotten underway a bit, we’ll be changing up acceptances so that they happen every Saturday, instead of on a rolling basis. We hope this doesn’t terribly bother anyone, but its better for our schedules overall! We’ll also be having our first activity check this weekend and the first part of our upcoming storyline / event sometime next week, so stay tuned!

hello listeners —
today we’ve received a notice about song nari, the 20 year old college student and pt radio bang employee. you might have seen her around riverside when she’s not being a photographer for uprising! the podcast. if you haven’t, fear not and stay tuned for the briefing.
and as always, welcome to iri
—  and now, the profile
faceclaim: stephanie lee oc name: song nari age: 20 positive traits: clever, creative, resourceful neutral traits: stubborn, meticulous, ambitious negative traits: sardonic, volatile, insensitive occupation: college student and pt radio bang employee housing: riverside affiliation: photographer for uprising! the podcast
— and now, the development
THE MYSTERY OF IRI:
unfeeling is how they see her – at this point is must be a fact,  unfeeling is how they see her. it must be – no, it’s definitely something in that cold gaze of hers, that unwavering expression of disinterest and disconnect, how her body language seems to say just please, anywhere but here. song nari is unapproachable, a notion that many seen to accept. unwelcoming is the feeling she gives, an unsettling sensation that settles in the pit of your stomach and grips your heart in a cold grasp. do not cross lest you wish to die; put in much simpler words, song nari is a total bitch.
and maybe they’re right. she’s not once made any attempt to stop them. they’re all dunces for the most part, but sometimes a particularly courageous one would step forward, only to be met with silence. but silence means yes, doesn’t it? so maybe the lack of response means that she agrees with them, that she herself believes that she truly is unfeeling, genuinely as cold as they believe her to be.
and maybe it’s when she gently takes hold of mr. choi’s shoulders and pushes him back in his seat, his most recent email still on full display in front of her now dead professor. SEND TO FIVE OF YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS OR DIE A BRUTAL DEATH, it reads. something like dread weighs upon her chest like lead – fear, perhaps? or maybe that’s just how someone would feel, sitting next to a corpse and all.
she gathers her things, wondering if she should delete the essay mr. choi had just assigned them that day. it almost disturbs her how she worries more about the deadline than her professor’s dead body, but oh well. there’s not much she can do in a situation like this.
she greets the librarian on her way out, but makes no mention of professor choi.
they’ll find his body sooner or later.
(later that day, a cacophony of police sirens can be heard throughout east iri. all lee ilsook college students receive a message explaining the “unfortunate” situation, and are asked to dress in mourning-appropriate clothes the next day.)
THE DUALITY OF MANKIND:
ambitious. everyone knows that she is, the disgraced will always be vengeful to some extent. but is it vengeance, or simply character? who knows. but it can’t be helped, not when the taste of dirt slowly becomes familiar and they can no longer make ends meet. han seulgi didn’t teach her to be like this, never allowed her to settle like this – so she works and she does. these days all she knows is the endless climb to the top and the thirst for more, more, more. and it’s all good, it’s all perfectly good, but she can see the way her father looks at her, can hear him praying to whoever might bother listening to please, help my girl, she’s losing herself and i’m afraid she’ll end up like her so please, help her – it leaves her restless, eyes burning, heart aching and she supposes that, maybe, this is what disappointment feels like.
— and now, the biography
SEVEN RUMORS
1994, han seulgi is the sole heir to han family’s enormous wealth, an exquisite beauty with unparalleled charm and wits; song haneul is a young businessman whose fortunes are built upon the vast farms that surround iri. the ladies say he’s quite the charmer, dashing good looks and all; the men say he’s ready to conquer the world. everybody thinks they’re a match made in heaven but what do they know?
1996, han seulgi and song haneul get married after over two years of dating and three months of engagement. the ceremony is nothing short of touching – you can clearly feel the love between these two! the bride looks absolutely stunning, by the way, and – oh! the groom is just to die for, isn’t she? god, can these two get any more perfect?
1997, han seulgi gives birth to a healthy baby girl named nari – wow, she’s a beautiful one, isn’t she? she has her mother’s eyes, yes? there’s no doubt she’ll grow into a beautiful woman, i mean, have you seen her parents? they look like a family of supermodels, and the baby’s not even a year old!
2004, there have been quite a lot of rumors circling the song family nowadays, isn’t that right? yes, indeed. there have been numerous reports of a conflict between the song family and the authorities in town. apparently song haneul strongly opposes the mayor – but why? nobody knows for sure, but according to a reliable source mr. song seems to believe that the mayor is incredibly corrupt! what a bastard, eh? i’m sure his wife must be sorely disappointed in him. i always thought mr. song was quite admirable, but now i just think he’s an idiot.
2005, it’s strange how we haven’t seen song haneul for quite some time now, no? i heard he took his family to the mountains – why? his business went bankrupt, since nobody wants to buy produce from him anymore. he could have just opened up a new business, but i’ve heard people talking about how he’s lost all his money, too. how could that have happened, though? nobody really knows, but i guess that’s karma. yeah, maybe – that could be it. maybe if he didn’t go after the mayor, this all wouldn’t have happened.
2006, is that han seulgi? is she with that man – whoa! did they just kiss? man, i never pegged her for someone who enjoys pda! doesn’t the guy look too old for her, though? isn’t she married to song haneul? last i checked that man didn’t look like…a leathery old prick. true, true, but maybe she’s left him for good? her husband – ex-husband? whatever he is, did bring shame to the han family as well. maybe this is han seulgi restoring her family name? could’ve chosen a better partner to do that with, i guess, but a person must make do with what he has.
2010, apparently the man han seulgi was last with died recently? yeah, i’ve been hearing about that, too. looks pretty strange, doesn’t it? last i heard the man was itching to get out of iri. was he really an outsider? i’m not too sure myself, but I would assume so. i don’t think i’ve ever seen him before news broke out about him and ms. han. but he really was wealthy, wasn’t he? he really was. it’s all with seulgi now, though. i saw her the other day, looked pretty distraught. i guess she really loved him, eh? for some reason, i believe that’s debatable.
FOUR YEARS
three, song nari finds herself in her father’s study, sobbing and wailing and gasping for breath. he waits, patiently, for her to collect herself. but why do the other kids get to attend school together? why do i have to stay at home and study here when i can just go with them instead? please, mother, i want to go with them! she had begged, crying and moaning all she’d liked that morning whilst her mother had been around. han seulgi had called her a brat, an ingrate who should learn to be more appreciative – as if she were doing her some sort of big favor. this is a privilege only people like them could afford, she had said, but her daughter could not comprehend how spending her days inside this too-large house could be called a privelege when it felt more like punishment. your mother doesn’t like to associate with…other people. father explains when she’s regained some semblance of calm. father’s face is kind and gentle but even she can hear the way he seems to choke on his words, can see how hard it is for him to talk about this. she does not understand this, too, how father always seems to struggle with his words when it comes to mother. but she is a child and they expect her to understand, somehow, so she says she does.
seven,  the cracks begin to show. nari has always known about her father’s opposition against, the mayor, though she never really knew why. of course this didn’t sit well with mother, who’d always been used to him caving in to her desires. this time, though, that was not the case. black was the color she’d known best, then, as it was all she’d see when she closed her eyes at night, when the screaming and breaking and shattering would reach its peak in the dead of the night. she does not remember anything like this, did not know that sadness could cut her as badly as this.
eight, an interlude. father’s failing business eventually hits rock-bottom, and the mountains are where they seek refuge. she quite likes the view up here, and judging by the elation in father’s eyes, he does agree. mother looks anything but, however – again, she does not understand.
nine, her mother eventually leaves. father looks broken all of a sudden, as if he’d come across something he would have rather not. it bothers her but he tells her nothing, offering only a crooked smile and ruffling her hair. he tells her not to worry so she tries not to. but there is no hiding secrets from the night, and he hears him whispering sometimes, something about han seulgi being a traitor, a blind wench devoured by her own greed.
TWO FACTS
HAN SEULGI TOLD ON HER HUSBAND
this, she learns eventually, from an old lady selling vegetables just on the outskirts of iri. it may sound suspicious, sure, but she knows her mother enough to be sure that she would have done this, that han seulgi resents her father enough to bring him to his ruin. and in truth, she really did – called for an emergency meeting of sorts and destroyed her husband without remorse. she might have exaggerated, just a little bit – nonetheless, it worked well in her favor, and maybe earned her some points with the mayor (but who knows).
NARI’S GLARE DOES NOT KILL MEN
some people seem to think song nari is some sort of evil witch – and perhaps in a city as strange as iri one cannot help but assume that they do exist and she is one of them, especially when she lives far off into the mountains and is just outright cold. this notion became somewhat widely speculated amongst a number of underclassmen after mr. choi’s death, when someone thought it would be smart to voice their observation on how hard she was glaring at the teacher just hours before his death, when he’d given them the two thousand-word essay due by 11:59 P.M. of course, there is no solid evidence to support this case, so it seems she won’t be called to the precinct anytime soon – for this reason, at least.
ONE GOAL
success. sounds rather vague, doesn’t it? this could be interpreted in a number of ways, but with song nari, no one can really tell: graduation, maybe? yeah, sure. but when she’s constantly topping exams and keeping a relatively clean behavioral slate, it seems this girl’s all good to go. restoring her family name? no one knows for sure, but it would be reasonable – the scorned will always thirst for revenge, or whatever. maybe that’s pushing it too far. perhaps she wishes to ruin her mother? now that’s something i wouldn’t mind seeing. as i said, though, when it comes to her, nobody really knows, so maybe it’s not as deep as we’d like to think. maybe, possibly, conceivably – but really, who knows.

hello listeners —
today we’ve received a notice about himura yukiko, the 21 year old college student. you might have seen her around east iri when she’s not being the earnest researcher for the investigation squad. if you haven’t, fear not and stay tuned for the briefing.
and as always, welcome to iri
—  and now, the profile
faceclaim: minatozaki sana oc name: himura yukiko age: 21 positive traits: adaptive, lovable, perfectionist neutral traits: adventerous, stubborn, reserved negative traits: insecure, superstitious, crafty occupation: college student housing: east iri affiliation: earnest researcher for the investigation squad
— and now, the development
THE MYSTERY OF IRI:
pavements shifting, concrete ever changing. it was six months prior to when the road appeared rather differently than to what she’s used to, as being compatible to the current surroundings—yukiko felt it was severely odd in a way, as if they had a mind of their own. though she wasn’t one to speak about so, after all, she moved there from the comfort from her beloved hometown.
at first it seemed albeit hard to adjust when you had to go through a few set of mismatched neighbors from time to time, yet, it deemed somewhat frequent in a week. even so, the girl came to learn about it from the locals and practiced adapting to abrupt change. offering a smile out while greeting those unfamiliar faces when she stepped out from the home. in her case, slowly but surely as there had been several accounts where she wounded up into having a foreign reversal in the scenery.
THE DUALITY OF MANKIND:
you cannot heal stubbornness.
befitting. an ideal of a match since yukiko’s the type to be a headstrong of a person, despite the fact that she’s highly aware of the consequences that came withal that trait of hers. being all persistent when it came down to both of her commitments altogether, she does listen—however it’ll only be dismissed, as if the words were only brushing past through and not giving a nudge on the twenty one year old. there were a few incidents where it got the best of her, namely losing her the amount of sleep over work and would sometimes result to losing bonds over the fact that she values her own views as first and foremost.
apart from that, for possessing such stigmatized trait, it actually worked wonders for her. as it drives to excel and crossing boundaries that she has never set upon before, this could be seen at the display of her ethics in working—constantly reminding herself that hard work pays off and with a slight push, the female was able to obtain her own set of achievements.
— and now, the biography
the news of her arrival deemed colossal, as if her birth had already attained the position in which the whole nation could only watch from afar and some even dared to dream. as himura yukiko is probably the only heir ( sans her brother ) to the one of the big six—being one of the largest keiretsu in japan and one of the largest corporate groups in the world. unbeknownst her, she was already entitled to conquering the rest of the terrene surroundings.
oh how fortunate, they would say. absolutely fortunate, as the girl belonged to the exclusive 1%. a position she had never even thought of apprehending. the whole nation sees her as someone who wouldn’t have to experience having money being a worrisome. the family itself had already thrived on their own for over than a century to the very least. all that she knew was chasing her dreams, and that was only the beginning…
fast forward into the years and yukiko had blossomed into a young lady, the expression of beauty never to left the face of hers as she was unlikely to be aware of the fact that she had an endless list from admirers. from the citizens, to the sons of conglomerates alike ( and in rare cases, a few unmarried men in the business ). still, she felt as if she was unworthy of the task, and for the fact that she lacked in the business department. which left one thing, passing over the family legacy onto her brother and was on the pursuit of living her goals.
until one day, the choice of her transfer into a new surrounding was before the much anticipated coming of age day.
there was something about iri that enticed her at first glance, which she stumbled upon a random page one day while browsing through the internet. tugging her form of curiosity as she rests on each and every word of the article had offer: stories that people experienced when they stayed in the town regarded distinguishable. stating that they had yearn to return once venturing into the place, or that it was addressed that the people would return later and chose to simply reside there. peculiar indeed.
it didn’t afford her much of an extended time for her move afterwards.
“are you sure you want to do this?” the mother asks, noting that their youngest was already seen setting her things and some had already been packed. somehow finding that it was albeit rushed, no one was forcing her to do this and yet yukiko felt that something was calling out to her. inviting that she’d make her presence available, and whatever it was, the high school graduate felt that the quicker, the better. “yes, mother. i’m sure,”
the process of her university application deemed smooth, straightforward, and uncomplicated in a manner. she got accepted into the lee ilsook college and was admitted for the next semester. all was left to do was get her things done and board the plane.

hello listeners —
today we’ve received a notice about won yejin, the 23 year old freelance artist. you might have seen her around riverside when she’s not being an acolyte for the machine. if you haven’t, fear not and stay tuned for the briefing.
and as always, welcome to iri
—  and now, the profile
faceclaim: kwak jiyoung oc name: won yejin age: 23 positive traits: eclectic, gentle, empathetic neutral traits: reserved, meticulous, stubborn negative traits: selfish, hypocritical, passive occupation: freelance artist housing: riverside affiliation: acolyte for the machine
— and now, the development
THE MYSTERY OF IRI:
yejin is probably the museum’s number one customer in terms of both ticket sales and gift shop purchases. she absolutely adores the museum and visits at least twice a month, if not more. sometimes she sketches the exhibits in one of her numerous burlap sketchbooks. other times, she merely walks, leisurely, around and around the burlap “sacks” and tilts her head at them. she almost always finds something new to appreciate. perhaps the shadows have shifted, and did they replace that sack since she was last here? when she isn’t debating with iri’s local art students (what’s the significance of using permanent marker?) yejin reflects. on and with the musuem. in a way, she owes her career to this place. the museum only served to fuel her artistic drive as a young girl. her first visit may have concluded with a drawing of a rather misshapen peanut, but look at her now. selling prints of the exhibits in her own gallery.
THE DUALITY OF MANKIND:
they say it’s all in the details, the small things which make something that much better. in yejin’s art, this certainly holds true. ink wash as an art style is both simplistic and detailed. the overall impression is fresh and clean despite all the steps that go into a piece. yejin prides herself in mastering these details, everything from the opacity of the pigment to the length of her stroke, all of this she takes into account – and it shows. she puts a great deal of time and effort into her work. every leaf, branch and layer of ink is carefully painted.
but when does detail become too much detail? yejin has a tendency to lose sight of the bigger picture, literally. she forgets about the piece as a whole and obsesses over one small section. there’s not enough leaves here. are there too many leaves here? now i need to balance the leaves on the other side. it’s hard for her to decide when a piece is done, often pouring hours into fixing something only she can notice.
— and now, the biography
the won family is old. some say as old as iri itself. but seeing as no one knows how old iri actually is who’s to say there’s any truth to it? then again, who’s to say otherwise? only one thing’s for certain: the won family is old. and loyal. for generations they’ve served the mayor as politicians, lawyers and businessmen. in positions high and low (but mostly high) their influence works to extend the mayor’s reach to all of iri.
the current family consists of won yejun, beloved politician, his wife, lee seoyun and their children minsoo, haeun and the youngest, yejin, who calls bullshit on all of this.
the won family is full of liars. they serve no one but themselves, loyal to no one but power. their influence reeks of corruption, furthering the reach of the mayor only when it serves to further themselves. these are the truths that yejin knows well; she’s part of them too, after all.
ONE. a legacy in the public sector didn’t bode well for a budding artist. ever since she was young yejin knew what her passion was: art and later, ink wash. it was simple in the sense that she couldn’t see herself doing anything else. it was the simplicity of it that frustrated her father – simplicity he couldn’t control.
she hasn’t stopped proving herself since.
competition was always encouraged between her and her siblings, but after having to work twice as hard to earn half as much recognition maybe she learned to resent them a little bit. learned to resent the legacy and its expectations. maybe it strained her familial relationships. maybe things started to fall apart.
and this is when she learned to play the game with only one rule: appearance. is. everything. the wons were never anything but a construct, a veneer of opulence.it didn’t matter if her parents had a screaming match mere hours before a party. it didn’t matter how she felt towards her family or how she felt at all. the wons needed to be perfect and so they were. they spoonfed the crowd their lies and yejin hated it, yet she consumed it all the same.
TWO. her shoulders fell heavy on her 19th birthday. even before trudging into the kitchen yejin pictured the scene. her family at the table, expectant looks on their faces, with her father at the head, calculating eyes behind the propaganda paper. she turned and left without a word, but they knew (that she had no other choice). she liked to pretend that this is when she became one of them, but she knew (that there was always a choice).
initiate then acolyte: still a follower and a cog. yet she learned her greatest lessons among this society of liars. here she learned how to embrace her status as a hypocrite and a phony; the only way to survive was to play the game. yejin enacted the machine’s agenda to further her own. she served no one but herself, did it all for power, wealth and prestige. if appearance is everything, perhaps yejin is a master. outwardly a successful artist toting the won name and with it the mayor’s, she’s set for life.
but she hates it all the same, hates what she’s become. hates that she’s everything she hates about her family. to embrace is not to enjoy and she has no one to blame but herself.
THREE. she uproots herself from the city center and moves out into riverside. her house is small and traditional, but she has more than enough resources to make it livable. she runs from the city. she’s not strong enough to change it, the order of things, the machine. she’s not sure if she even wants to.

what's the process like for reviewing applications?
We like to make sure all of the admins get a chance to read them to make sure that a muse can fit the verse (so sometimes bios can be stuck under pending for a little longer if one of the admins is busy). As far as acceptance goes, we just like to make sure that everything happening in the bio is possible in Iri (for instance, if there was a mention of a vampire or something, we’d ask that to be changed), and that the characters are fully fleshed out to the point where we understood who they are and what their backstory is like. If you have a more specific question, feel free to ask or IM us!

Quick question; Can you leave or get kicked out of The Machine? For example if your moral compas switches sides? And do you have to attend the meeting when your nineteen or can you go to the secret spot at anytime (if you get the letter of course)
Nope! If your moral compass were to switch sides somehow and you didn’t want The Machine...convincing it back, so to speak, the muse would need to keep it under wraps somehow. The members carry with them a lot of secrets, and so if they want to leave The Machine will certainly help them disappear (it’s easy enough to blame missing people on the city of Iri itself, after all). For your second question, if one gets a letter, they must attend. Keep in mind that the majority of members’ parents were in the organization, so there’s no doubt familial expectations and mindsets heaped onto it as well. If The Machine has doubts on someone attending, they’d likely never send them a letter to begin with. They have eyes and ears all around the city.
