thinking about the pain of being the chosen of gods, and what happens to Robin once she ascends and becomes a kami herself.

Robin literally goes through a purification ritual to ascend and in the process she purges her best friend/lover Kagemori from her soul, killing him for good….

And then once the Dark One is dead and sealed away, she’s left alone, bloody, a god in her own right but unable to bring back the dead. Haruki is still missing, if not dead. Kagemori is dead. Her best friend, the night spirit, might be dead too thanks to her light.

She has her mother’s people/clan to support her but it isn’t the same.

Robin cannot walk in heels. She has never needed to, beyond maybe trying her mother’s old ones as a little girl when playing dress up. She would probably fall over if you made her wear heels to a fancy event.

Geta, however? She can run and battle in them fine.

(Yes, even the single tooth geta like what an oiran wears. How is that different from heels? Idk ask me later.)

And here's a hypothetical in turn: How would Robin react to catching Rena at the junkyard stuffing a trash bag that's leaking what appears to be blood into a broken refrigerator?

So that depends on two factors- whether Robin is her usual self in the AU, or if she was able to become a looper. (I have a few threads with a Lambdadelta ( @certitudinis ) and Beatrice ( @metaview iirc) who could act as patron witches for her power)

Normal AU - Robin is able to smell the blood way faster than she sees it. She would rush to the clearing thinking Rena was injured, and probably stumble so loudly that the younger girl would hear her. Robin would stand there, frozen with shock, before finally asking if Rena was safe… did someone hurt her? Was it out of self defense? After all, Takano Miyo disappeared not long ago.

Looper AU - Recognizing this is a possible dead end since Rena is under the influence of Hinamizawa Syndrome, Robin would try to be much calmer and more supportive. She would stick to Rena’s side fiercely, helping her and making sure she doesn’t go too overboard. Of course, it probably won’t end up well even if she prevents Rena from going full batshit.

In either AU version, Robin would think Rena was possibly the voice calling to her in her dreams that made her come to Hinamizawa in the first place… which isn’t true. It’s another dead end loop.

summer hc time (mobile edition)

Robin and her family did take beach trips to the shore of NJ when she was younger. She enjoyed it but didn’t really love it. She always felt sort of out of place there, and didn’t like wearing bathing suits.

This is something she still struggles with as an adult, due to her many scars (and ESPECIALLY the one on her stomach) and sensitivity to even leaving the forest in the first place. If she did wear a suit, it would most likely be a full piece or a two piece that had fabric to cover her stomach.
