your local shibe ryn presents: THE SCHEDULE FOR THE REST OF APRIL-EARLY MAY UPON THE BLOG

so my itinerary for dcp's welcome week finally came in today. My family and I will be departing for Orlando on May 3rd, most likely early. It'll take 3 and a half to 4 hours to drive to the train station in VA, which then will be when I can finally get wifi and some sort of place to use my laptop for the rest of the day-evening.

Once we arrive in Orlando we will be in a hotel and shopping for supplies, getting acquainted with the area. I'll be spending a lot of time with my family so it'll be very quiet here.

May 6th is move in day! I will have check in at the ass crack of dawn and then events throughout the day. I won't be active until evening, or not at all.

My true first day of work is May 10th. After that I will have an idea of my training schedule.

So really activity will be about the same. I'm not as active on here as I was last year, but that is kind of good bc then y'all know what to expect from me for awhile~

I'll do my best to get drafts in order here before I leave!

While Miyuki never promised it outright, it was implied that Robin would be allowed by the kami and tradition to leave the Lost Woods realm and explore the outside world. She was allowed this because Haruki was the eldest child, and therefore trained to become the guardian heir.

Haruki, in private conversation, had promised a very emotional young Robin that she could escape this place. He would protect the forest. Though, she was quick to notice the hesitation in his eyes, and promised quite naively that she would be by his side always.

"We were born a year apart, Haru-nii. You're my big brother, siblings don't abandon each other."

Which only made the betrayal of Haruki by fleeing the forest more devastating to Robin's psyche.

Robin was given this guardian role, assuming one day her brother might come back to relieve her, or the kami would reward her faithful piety and allow her to leave. It has nearly been two decades.

Robin has C-PTSD.

Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is formed when an individual endures long-lasting and repeated bouts of ongoing trauma, typically in childhood. Survivors often find themselves caught in an inescapable cycle of grieving that lasts months and years beyond the loss and remains fresh and raw in spite of the time and changes that have occurred since the event.

The individual is tethered to the past by an inability to move on from their loss. In psychology this is referred to as Complicated Grief and though it is most commonly discussed with death, it can present itself for grieving lost time, stolen youth and lives unlived.

This appeared in her at a very young age, considering her mother and father died within a year of one another and she was never able to leave the Lost Woods as promised.
