What tickles me about dunmeshi's ending is that it includes an in-universe acknowledgment that yes, there were so many death flags for falin and her actually being revived is a letdown, but author dgaf and changed her mind - in Marcille coming to terms with death only to be made fun of by random gnomes.

#also I have gripes with navigation #why quick menu has access to map but the main menu doesn't? why switching between area maps takes quite a long time when there's quests on #area borders and the teleporter is only on one side of it? Everyone in Scarlet Hollow seems to have massive ass except Tabitha. It wasn't obvious on Stella due to textbox but it's truly like some kind of cake olympics.

Okay, so, Beatrice lives in the in-between, she's the infinity between 1 an 0 or 19 and 18, she "never casts the dice" and mistakes her means for her end, and plays the endless games, and she's not a person but also the rules and to win they have to be learned and broken and you'll get her heart laid bare, and she's capable of love and can only be seen with love and what was broken can only remember being whole, and certainty is able to kill her, the only way to kill her is in our hands, the solution of epitaph kills her. 1. She wants to die, but she wants to be loved first. 2. Player is able to kill her by closing the game forever.

With the question of "who is Beatrice" we still have to go off 18** people faces of whom we have seen, and with the way Beatrice worded it "Beatrice" didn't exist 6 years ago (and is implied to be a product of Battler's actions) and Battler's sin is something he can't remember. Obviously, this casts heavy suspicion on Shannon, who worked there from 6, who wanted to get away, who has a fake name*, and if I remember, to whom Battler tried to promise marriage or something along these lines (I only remember him being embarassed at something she recalled at the beach). I can string along that their femcel vs love believer attitudes is the product of inner conflict, but I don't think anything else makes sense. *This moment is interesting. If "Kanon" is treated as the name of the person we're seeing on the screen, then his attack and closed room in 2nd ep make no sense. But I already supposed that "Kanon is dead" could be about his furniture self. If we expand on this and claim that any proclamations about S&K's status don't relate to characters on the screen (and for that we need to check whether they ever were stated to be alive), then this clears up two whole characters, and partially explains Ronove's relationship to Beatrice, and strengthens the "furniture as a unit" motif. It also makes Furniture-Beato relations really funny, so I probably need some more theories, otherwise me making fun of Battora is embarassing. ** Needs to be rechecked for POVs to find out which "faces" could be dead by the beginning. "Kinzo is dead" could still be holding up, especially with Natsuhi-Krauss-Nanjo conspiracy going on. Also I genuinely cannot figure out why would you need to burn torii gates in the middle of this? Is it a marker to the secret mansion?
