I'm doing my best to manage it and I'm excited to go see The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes tomorrow :).But I am struggling a bit. If anyone has anything nice to say — mostly about the muses (things that you like about them or that stand out, individually or *gestures*) but can be about anything (even something good that happened to you today), I would adore a little boost to wake up to.

I think sometimes we could all use a little reminder that the things we do matter. 𝐀𝐋𝐒𝐎, 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐘 — I am absolutely thrilled when people are interested in multiple / all of my muses and take the initiative to show that (sending individual memes for that specific muse, expressing individual interest 'oh I think (x) would work because (x)'). It's just when I get the noncommittal 'whoever you want' or '(meme) for anyone' or someone blatantly ignoring my starter/meme calls when they say to specify muse, etc. Most of the time, I have to mindread / guess who you MIGHT be interested, and a lot of times my posts get ignored, and a lot of times, I feel like those people haven't taken time to read even the verse information about my muses. If you're LEGITIMATELY interested in all of my muses (or even any of them) and have expressed that to me in a way that shows you actually have an idea of them (even if it's those bingo cards or sending individual memes!) that's great and that post isn't about you. You're not making me do all of the work. Also, it's valid to think something's going to work and then it doesn't, that's not what I mean either.

𝐈 𝐀𝐌 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐎𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 because I care about my mutuals a lot —but like, can we please be mindful of the way we word things? I’ve seen a lot of people on my dash making some pretty heavy statements because apparently someone writes a personification of the RMS Titanic? But there are also statements being made talking about how ‘gross’ it is to personify things in general — and other similar rhetoric that makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable. While I think that it’s — very much not in good taste at all — to write a personification of anything where real people died and caused mass casualty (like, writing a personification of the Twin Towers or Columbine school or the like) — I also don’t think that bullying people is the proper way to handle. Informing the person gently as to why it makes you uncomfortable in case they didn’t understand or otherwise blocking is a better tactic, in my opinion.

Also — there are A LOT of writers who personify things, myself included when I ventured to personify an artist’s muse back on lovepurposed 1.0. Hell, Greek mythology *gestures at Pygmalion and Galatea*. Then, likewise, you have people personifying things that mean something to them — the TARDIS from Doctor Who, Baby from Supernatural (I have personally written with both) and so to make a generalization of ‘personification is gross’ is just — not a great take. You are 110% allowed your squicks, you are allowed to use the block button as liberally as you need to. But policing the content that others enjoy writing and then getting your followers to bully and make fun of them really, really isn’t okay. It’s not kind. Calling people ‘gross’ for the fictional content that they enjoy writing has never been it for me.

Again, I personally find the idea of a personified mass-casualty landmark in bad taste and it makes me uncomfortable and I will not interact with that blog if it happens across my dash. But it makes me equally as uncomfortable to see people out there calling people gross over fictional content, and laughing with their friends publicly about it. How would you feel if you came across someone and their whole group of friends shitting on your blog? How would you feel if people were calling you ‘gross’ because you wrote things that they personally didn’t like? Please be mindful — there are kinder ways to go about it, all.

Funny how you go from writing a morally gray antagonist that becomes a villain for his romantic interest to further a plot only to coming back to that character three months later and giving him a (very loud) reboot in which he ends up with two wives, and two husbands who he all loves with all of his heart — but also that the wife who cost him a finger (again, he deserved it, in Romana's defense) is the only person in the known Universe he's now soft enough to get on his knees for. He's been a soft and sappy man for her for a long time, but he's been making goo-goo eyes at that drawing all day and it just means a lot to me that I woke up to that this morning and that Nonny cares so much about me and my muses (and I hope that they know the feeling is mutual and I would super draw them fancy art too if I could).

It also means a lot to me that all of you here on tumblr have welcomed him. And I just wanted to say that I appreciate all of the birthday wishes from likes to DMs, so thank you lovelies —  @imprvdente ; @charroblanco ; @seaprofound ; @dutyworn ; @asoulofstars ; @firebirby for making Mariano (and thereby me) feel loved today. And also, to those of you who thought about it and were too shy or were busy with Halloween, I appreciate you too, good thoughts matter and so do you! :)
