Honestly, a lot of elves gotta have a hair kink to some degree. I can see Drow having it the most predominantly due to how much status they put into their own.
A lot of media describe elves as hairless besides head hair.
They are probably fascinated by idea and enjoy the coarser texture it offers and keep notes on styles. Because, of course, if you decide to keep your facial hair, they must make sure you're properly groomed. They might even incorporate some elven designs/braids if you are lucky.
They also hide your clippers if the idea of shaving it off crosses your mind.
Yes! Exactly. Facial hair and even body hair would really fascinate them. They'd like the feeling of it and the mature look it gives the person.
Like elves are stuck looking youthful for a lot of their liftime, their looks barely changing. They'd be head over heels for the signs of maturity and aging that humans have. Be it body stretch marks, facial hair or even wrinkles. Any proof of your body growing up and swimming with the time.
They probably don't understand why humans try so hard to hide these things, constantly shaving and using anti-aging creams.
Elves find it so beautiful, so thrilling. And the texture feels so good against their bodies. They'd love tracing their hand down a human's hairy chest while they sleep, maybe holding their thighs and finding the feeling of the hair fuzz on it very nice.
I am a firm believer that each race's beauty standards is so much different than humans. Drows would simp insanely hard for human women with body hair, using it as another excuse to put humans above high elves and allowing them to trade with their cities.
I mean, if you look over the constant attempts at enslaving you, I feel like drows would be very into the idea of a human neighbour.

Yes! Elves would definitely love the idea of visible aging, and I'm also gonna put some emphasis on older women because of the always looming stigmas of them being "Not Allowed To Age Because Ew" A.K.A COWARDS
Just like how we'd drool over old Elves, they'd, in turn, drool at the sight of an older humans.
Drow that would shiver in delight at the extra weight that clings to thighs and hips with age. Hypnotize themselves with tracing their human lovers stretchmarks, worshipping the marks that crafted their treasure.
Wood elves that can't help but run their fingers through salt and pepper hair, enamored by the strains; Often comparing it to the changing of leaves during the shifting of seasons. How wonderful that humans can fully embrace natures cycles with ease, their little piece of tranquility.
High Elves that can't help but long for the stern, no nonsense attitude that develops with time. Secretly loving the pushback that they get from older humans, how said humans would not hesitate to drag them by their sensitive ears for being rude; Relish the calluses and age spots on your hands.
High elves practically whimper at the raspy timber with each huff you give.
They'd all love the prominent frown lines you'd have when stubbornly bartering with a merchant.
They'd love the creasing of your crows feet and deepening smiles lines while you laugh even more.
God, I love older women
Exactly!
Humanity tends to obsess over youthfulness and always looking young. It's one of the reasons why the other species see humans as an immature young species that still needs to develop.
Human beauty strandards would'nt even fly with other races. They'll just be confused on why you're making such a big deal of the lines on your skin and using anti-wrinkles creams. Everyone has them, it comes free with having skin.
Especially elves, they seem like they celebrate aging. The more visibly a person looks their age, the more attractive it makes them to elves. Even their elders lack this mature look because of elven genetics, so they helplessly drool over the older humans with their aging bodies.
They adore all evidence and marks of your life on your own body. The extra fat, the pudgy thighs, the body hair that comes with being an adult, the smile lines and rough hands.
Elves don't reach this stage of their life until they're in their 700th year. Only then do they begin losing their youthful look. Yet humans achieve that so easily, it's hard not to be enamoured with them.
Life in its purest essence, that's what they see when they watch you visibly age each year. Notice the difference between you on each birthday, the way you still kiss them the same as their love for you continues to grow.
Like how a flower is at its most beautiful bloom just a little while before it falls off. Humans age like the stars that formed them, shining gradually until disappear with a supernova that echos its light for years to come. Filling the empty night sky much like they filled every empty corner of Faerun, breathed life back into these fields that they turned into kingdoms and cities.
Elves see themselves as the watchers. The guardians of nature and humanity. They came from the fey and as much as they try to appease the natural order, they were never moulded from it much like the birth of humans was. Their bodies never came from clay and mud.
And their akin to immortality lifespans is a reminder of that. The urgency of a limited short lifespans has pushed the humans into doing and achieving so much, turning the impossible into their future and persevering despite all the hardships.
That's what the elves see when they look at an old human with shakey hands and wrinkled skin. With a short tempter and jaded view. They see the evidence of perseverance, of a star at the brightest stage of its life.
Because even when humans get older, they never lose their sense of curiosity, and their thirst for knowledge never is sated. They still marvel at magic, smile at the rain, and laugh at jokes. They still admire a passing butterfly, look at every rainbow as if it was their first.
Because when they're 80. They're not just 80. They're also 70, 60, 50, 20, 19, 18, and even 1. They're all their past selves wrapped into one. They have never lost their younger self. They simply sprouted another petal to act as the main cover.

You say Drow women feel the urge to breed their partners when ovulating and I raise you Gith Shu'kyani feel the need to be bred by their non-gith partners when their non-gith partner starts to ovulate.
Like they know Faerun species can't lay eggs in them but why does their partner smell so good? Surely their partner can fill them up?
-githzerai anon
Gith would probably be really intrigued by the fact other species can just breed whenever, more even by the ovulation cycle.
Maybe it's infectious in ways you don't realise it. The smell of the hormones preduced during the person's ovulation is very noticeable to the gith and they it effects their libido greatly.
The thing the lich queen stole from them, a part of their bodily anatomy, the ability to reproduce whenever they wished for. Yet their body still remembers, the inherit lust that comes whenever their loved one's body is ripe and ready.
Some of them might get needy, uncharacteristically submissive as they feel an urge to spend all their time on your bed. To stay where you are, to relieve you of this building pressure between your legs. Be used by you, bred and filled on your bed. They've never felt something like this before and you're telling them that this happens every month? How are you not going crazy with the need to tear their clothes off and bend them? How does your species even function with the knowledge any of you could be walking around releasing this sweet intoxicating aphrodisiac.
Imagine a human ambassador or something going to a gith settlement on an extended stay. Maybe they're here to train them or teath them.
Your period just ended so you thought you'd be fine, but there is something weird and unusual in the way these githyanki act around you. They lower status ones still have to show you respect as their superior but there is something more in their eyes, as if they genuinely long for your approval, for your domination.
Even the kithrak is acting weird around you, his usual strong voice wavering, fists clenched as he takes a deep breath. You're blissfully unaware of the domino effect you've caused, wandering around the creche's halls and spreading your toxins around. Making everyone extremely confused on this new feeling they're developing.

That are some dnd race quirks you like to add for flavor?
I like to add that Gith flick their ears forward like Frilled-neck lizards to signal a non-verbal warning and chirp like tree frogs when very happy. ( they will try to kill others to hide it.)
Elves can purr but Drow can't, kinda like how some big cats can't roar but can meow.
Drow blink slowly to show affection and their eyes reflect how stimulated they currently are. ( they will also try to kill others to hide it.)
-githzerai anon
I really like your concept about gith, honestly it's very wholesome.
The frog symbolism works especially great with the mindflayers octopus thing since frogs start their lifecycle as aquatic tadpoles and are able to go on land.
Hmm for me.
I like the idea that elves are inherently just plants/fungus. Cannibalism has no consequences for them because of it but the modren elf doesn't bring it up much. Like while it would take a life or death situation for a human to eat the flesh of someone else, it would take much less for an elf to do it.
Humans start with an xp multiplier because how can you justify having a human wizard and an elf wizard be at the same level? So humans just tend to learn or absorb things faster
Gnomes have the most complex and intertwined political structures between all the other races, they're just veru secretive about it.
Dwarves treat your birthstone like how humans treat your zodiac signs.
Dragonborns and Gith bond over being born from eggs. Drows take care of gaint spider eggs for Lolth a lot so they can relate a bit.
Dragonborns and Draconic bloodline people do take some personality traits from the dragon they're based on, gold ones tend to be chatty and social while red ones tend to be arrogant. It's not a very prominent thing, your own personality traits will shine more but sometimes the dragon's traits slip through.
Oh and they can eat gems, both of them. It does nothing.
The feeling of shame, self loathing and jealously are inherently human traits. Other races feel them but at a much more watered down version
Likewise elves can feel so many other types of love that most races can't comprehend, but also much more types of hate.
Passion for dwarves shapes the meaning of their lives.
Tieflings are allergic to holy water, not deathly but more of a sneezing and itching allergy.
Half-orcs have very advanced and affordable dental care.
Dragonborns do shed their scales like snakes, their scales are extremely sensitive after so they do it alone.
Curly hair is exclusive to humans, Haflings, and tieflings. If you have it, there is a big chance one of your ancestors mingled with one of those races to add it to the gene pool.
Same with brown eyes, it's very common in humans but very rare in other races. A lot of them are really fascinated by it.
It's mostly why Dwarves think humans were carved out of great rocks deep in the earth. They see them as an excellent work of art and their creator should be praised.
But well, humans don't have a creator in dnd, no god and no origin.
I like that a lot, because when a god exists and is omnipotent, it technically erases free will for that race. If the god knows everything you're going to do before you do it, then you're predetermined.
But with humans, there is no god, so they are the most free and unpredictable of the races. Even when they try to sort them into boxes, the idea of humanity is that there is no ideal shape for a human to be moulded into.
Another flavour text i like to add, is that maybe humans were made in the image of the said gods but without any of the godly powers. So they have extremely short lives where they feel like they're missing something greatly and are never satisfied with all the powers or knowledge they collect. They always want more, to go further or deeper or faster.
Maybe try to weave the whole forbidden apple into it, humans were cursed by it to be the thing they are today. They are born with inherited sins. It explains why they are so squishy and defenceless, they were meant to stay in a safe bubble in heaven the gods created for them and not roam the dangerous lands.
But they got too curious for their own and paid the price.
Still i do prefer the no-known creator origin for humans, i a world so well documented it is funny to think human origin was the biggest mystery all along.

Ruthlessness/Survive Definitely, their both on my writing/drawing playlist. I desperately want a full version of The Challenge. I came across the Troy saga on accident.
Bg3 ideas? Hmm, Wyll and Lae'zel definitely have the musical on a gym playlist. No one can tell those two aren't theater kids, with how they speak and carry themselves.
Mine is "remember them" and "thunder bringer"
And man me too, i like how they didn't cut corners or tone it down just to appeal to people who don't like musicals. I like how passionate and at times corny it gets, i eat it up.
And yes but I meant like concept wise!
For example, when Odysseus has to kill an infant, the prince of troy, just because a god told him to, would the bg3 companions do it if placed in the same position?
Wyll and Karlach wouldn't, no matter who. Even if the god offered to free Wyll from his contract or replace Karlach's heart. I don't think they'd ever kill an infant.
Astarion, for his freedom? Yes he would. Gale for his ambition? Yes but only after doing a lot of mental gymnastics and you sprinkle it manipulation from Mystra.
Lae'zel would but I bet you it will eat her up at night, that she will throw up a bit in her mouth whenever she picks up her sword handle. That it will haunt her how much she trained all her life to defeat the best of foes but that helpless infant was the person she took the life of, even for Vlaakith. She will do it but she will hate herself.
Shadowheart would try, she really will try and give it her all but the second the infant cries she is on her knees horrfied at her own actions. She'd be the voice asking Shar if she can take the kid instead and raise him as her own or send him away or hide him or anything but this.
Minthara would do it AND HEAR ME OUT, Halsin would do it.
Nature is brutal and people forget that a lot, Halsin would never do it happily or willingly. But he killed those Goblin kids with cold blood, if the infant looked like a monster he wouldn't hesitate for the safety of everyone else.
I feel like Halsin and Minthara have a lot more in common than people realise. The case of yin and yang having a bit of each other inside each other.
Dame Aylin wouldn't do it, I think even if it meant losing Isobel. Unless it was Selune who told her to, because the second that infant crosses the line between good and evil in her eyes, he is doomed.
Isobel however, would not do it. Even if it meant killing Dame Alyin or leaving her imprisoned. She would disobey Selune. That's the human nature in her.
I feel like elves in general are less empathetic than humans to people who aren't from their own kind. Githyanki are more principled than humans and put their emotions aside to get a job done.
You need a full human to properly sin and disobey a god.

We've been ROBBED! 😭
THEY TALKED ABOUT IT.
Okay fuck that's actually great news, there is a chance she will be a romance option in the future definitive edition! And Larian have a history of giving the DE upgrade for free.
Theory time, how Jaheira romance would've been.
Some might think it'd start art the end of Act 2 when we defeat Ketheric but I disagree, I definitely think it will start at the very late game in Act 3 when we save Minsc.
Because that is the moment she actually trusts us, that is the moment where she calls us cub, where we get to meet her family and can go into her house.
I think her romance would be brief and not as flushed out, tho more of a throwback to bg2 Jaheira romance rather than a full progressed romance. And she did date another bhaalspawn in the past, so she is the most likely out of the companions to get with Durge.
Maybe... a poly option with Halsin?

Oh, concept wise! I gotcha, hmm, how would the companions handle being in a familiar position as Penelope? Who'd stay strong for the full 20 years? Who'd falter in the midst of pressure and harassment?
I think out of all the companions, Minthara would handle it the best. Considering how noble drow politics and squabbles are, the harassment would be akin to water off a ducks back. She was molded and grown by the worst Menzoberranzan nobility has to offer if a pack of fools think that they can bend her will, they have another thing coming.
Wyll, despite all the love he has for you, would succumb to the pressure, I feel like. He has an image and duty to uphold. He can not fail his nor his father, not again. He takes no joy in what he has to do, but he'll start to listen to proposals after a few years pass, as every word is whispered into his ear or paper that passes his hands; he'll clench his teeth and stare forward.
I would write more, but it's 1am. rn for me, and I gotta sleep and go to work at 5 am.
Fuck now you're making me wanna write an angsty fic where Minthara waits for reader who promised they'd be back. We can also use Minthara's scrapped storyline and give her the child back
Just like Odyssey, Reader left when their child was barely walking. They didn't want to go but it was either taking their infant's life or taking themselves far away from home.
Remember how you described Minthara as submissive as a watchdog? She'd be the type to wait for you at the door. Resetless and pacing, snapping at every little thing. Thinking how you must return, how she will wait all her life her if she has to. Even when doubt crosses her mind she stays strong.
Imagine how extra sad it would be if you were a human or from a short-lived race. She spends all her remaining lifetime waiting for you even when it would be impossible for you to show up after 50 years have passed. Whole centuries that she keeps waiting through for a ghost.
Wyll will move on, I think all companions with a hint of human in them will move on because that is our nature. We are verstile and adaptable, we weren't built for longterm devotion but for innovation.
Wyll, Gale and even Shadowheart will move on. For Shadowheart it will be much harder because part of her wants to stay, wants to believe you will return. She will be the last to crack between Gale and Wyll.
Astarion would wait, he will constantly complain about it but despite it all he will wait for you. Joking to the empty spot on the bed besides him on how he will march to the tavern and drag a random fool home if you do not show up today, but he never does no, he doesn't even look at people that way anymore since the last time you've kissed him.

If we're on level talking about character flaws, wasn't shadowheart meaner and more defensive in EA? I've heard that Larian watered her down for the release. Idk because I never played the beta, but that's the consensus on Twitter
Yes! Shadowheart used to be much more evil and meaner than she is today.
Tumblr media
I didn't play during those times, I've only played the beta during the 9 version and Shadowheart was already niced by then. She was considered sassy at best, but even her sassy lines I've witnessed in beta, were removed in the final release.
You know the current phrase going around about her? How she is an evil character who is clearly bad at being evil? Yeah well that wasn't the case before.
Going back 3 years in the subreddit, you'd find a lot of discussions about Shadowheart. Shar isn't just a dark deity, Shar is a legit evil deity.
And that Shadowheart enjoyed toying with people, manipulating them and torture. She would get very angry and agitated by you if you don't search for a healer immediately. Letting Astarion bite you used to be a huge dealer breaker for her that made her hate you.
In short, she treated you and everyone like how she currently treats Lae'zel.
At that time she was the most popular character my a huge margin, Astarion was niche. So poll after poll and review after review, Larian started taking the feedback about her and making her nicer bit by bit until we ended with the Shadowheart of today.
That's why being gentle to animals was such a big deal back then, it was one of the few ways to actually get Shadowheart to like you. The mean closed off cleric of Shar who had a soft spot for animals.
Also back then, there was no confirmation of her being a selunite in the past and it was this massive theory about her being brain washed into being a sharran.
Funny, Astarion was the least character touched in early access. While Gale used to be more like our current Wyll, and romancing him required a specific guide with very deliberate steps that you can easily fuck up. While Wyll used to sleep with you in the first act. It explains the current dating poll winners, Shadowheart was always the fan favourite, aka the people who have been playing the game in beta for 3 years, and Gale was loved over Astarion. only the full release players are the most vocal about Astarion.

Yes! Give me a Dwarf monk with a beard that can make the whole party green with envy! Way of the Long Death ( if we're using mods, Alternative monk is a wonderful mod btw) Would be perfect for a dwarf, very difficult to kill, and allows the Monk to serve as a defender more easily. A friend that will gladly brush off that waraxe for you.
Honestly, it's the only dwarf companion I can remember being treated well during recent times is Varric Tethras from Dragon Age ( Psst, It's the chest hair)
Theoretically? Hmm, I'd create a Kobold sorcerer of the Aberrant Mind variety. To play off the goblin rivalry within act 1 and to tie into psionics that will be inevitably thrown around via tadpoles. Hell, if you don't use the tadpoles, the sorcerer could be a way not to miss out on some abilities, albeit weaker.
A KOBOLD! MY BELOVED!!!
I would start a fanclub for that sorcerer kobold, first to recruit off of the gates even if he's stashed away at the end of the world. My lvl1 Tav would power walk their way through everything and ignore all other companions to reach him, after securing him only then does the game starts.
And omfg that dwarf monk, god. Something about imagining them has me twirling my hair and kicking my feet in the air. Like a powerful strong buff dwarf with the best beard ever that has charms and braids.
Imagine how easily it'd be for the dwarf to pick you up like you were a couple of grapes. Maybe the party is crossing some muddy swamp and the dwarf chatter is offering to hold you up so you don't get mud on your clothes, my heartttt.
The hearty deep laugh, the devotion and the effortless charm. A dwarf is basically humanity's standards of butch/masc and it would make anyone swoon. Also women with beards are like so pretty and breathtaking <33333 AAAAA
Imagine them offering you a drink but telling you to slow it down because your pretty little human head probably can't handle their alcohol. Or at the end of their romance, they gift you a crafted sword/weapon with gems to show their love.
The thing about dwarves is how effortlessly badass they are while playing it off, yk? Like they're that cool older mentor who always includes you in stuff and sneaks you a drink or a snack during training but making sure you're safe and protected. They have strong believes that they take to heart but also are surprisingly open minded and never assume malic. Like when humanity copied their city designs and dwarves took it as a compliment and helped the humans build it.
I haven't played dragon age yet but I searched him up and oh my- we get all of that cleavage show for free? God is not dead after all.

Kith'rak Voss making me feel things ngl, specially when Raphael calls him a Loyal dog. Now I can't stop thinking about Voss in petplay scenarios, I want that Old Dog to beg.
Doesn't help that Githyanki armor is pantsless
God, I can imagine my monk having Voss on his knees grinding against a bowstaff for relief. Pleading just for a taste, surely my monk's Varsh/ilhar won't mind?
Now I'm thinking about cucking

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw this man turn from a collected and ruthless leader knight in act one to a desperate and eager thing in act 2&3 and just felt the urge to push his knees above his head.
God, you bet his dragon hits it on the regular. Voss is putting a whole new meaning to the dragon rider knight.
He gives us a silversword, probably his own silversword so we would consider freeing Orphues, not even a full agreement. There isn't anything he'd stop at honestly.
He'd do more humiliating things then petplay if you simply implied it, what's better than a battle hardned old man on his knees with no panties and a collar?
