can't be bothered to find the og post rn ( think i might have deleted it bc it was a lowkey kind of spooky season joke. ) but in it i referenced a headcanon i had regarding raven's ability to manifest monsters subconsciously, as demonstrated in the t.een titans cartoon. i mentioned it in another post last night here but i'd like to expand on that. as the episode itself points out via robin, the monster / creature itself was not real. it was just the embodiment of raven's own fear. therefore, none of the characters were in any danger. this is where the hc part comes in. this still occasionally happens once raven's reached adulthood. though rarely, and very sporadically. ( for example, your muse walks in to find her asleep, and there's the fucking. creature from the black lagoon hanging out near her or smth. ) your muse isn't gonna get hurt. its chill, it's fine. she'll get it if you freak out though.

raven didn't grow up with valentines day in the way we know it. at least, and perhaps more accurately, not in the way that wider society tends to view it, with romance seeming to be the primary focus. for her, on azara.th, the holiday was more family and friendships oriented while she was growing up. so when she comes to earth as a teen/young adult and sees such a shift, it's a bit of a culture shock.

okay, so the whole ' raven coming to your muse for help' idea got me thinking about what happens when she’s like. almost completely drained of energy, so here's a headcanon on that.

outside of fatal wounds ( because raven, to me, is not technically immortal in the usual sense. she's also half human. therefore she doesn't live forever and can definitely die ) if the injuries she sustains are serious but not inherently life threatening, obviously she'll need time to heal. a similar thing can be said about her magic. it never really goes away, but if she hasn't the energy to use or channel it properly, it's not going to work until she's completely back to herself again. this can take a few days to a little over a week. mostly, during this time, she'll either be meditating or sleeping ( admittedly for pretty long periods as far as sleeping goes. ) things like cuts / marks / bruises will start to fade over time. more significant looking wounds will do the same, but that will take a bit longer. any help with this, such as first aid or some other means is encouraged. get her some butter pecan ice cream while she's recovering and she'll utterly adore you.

she's pretty: big lavender eyes and ( usually ) long dark hair with very slight hints of purple mixed in. she does cut it short during the summers, and tends to mix her style around. can often be found wearing anything ranging from comfortable-cute, sarees to half-sarees, to a whimsical soft-goth witchy vibe. makeup looks are either very dramatic or very subtle. there is rarely an in between.

cocoa, dark chocolate, cinnamon, hazelnut, vanilla.

i wouldn't say fragile, but perhaps soft is a better word. easy to hold. her skin is mostly pretty smooth, though she does have a battle scar here or there.

so let me start off by saying that this is a headcanon. raven has not has any spirit / ghost interaction in canon to the best of my knowledge. but considering her powers, heritage and how some of her magic works, it's not too offbeat to think that she could have come across a ghost once or twice. this is where the actual hc part comes in. bc she's an empath canonically, raven can kind of get a read on people's feelings. and i feel like this could/does extend to the departed as well. she won't know the specifics, but she'll know that the soul is stuck/trapped/been through something potentially traumatic. and her first instinct will be to try to help.
