oh hi.

i'm putting my rp blogs on hiatus! how long? don't know! i've already really dipped in online activity the past 4ish months primarily due to a mix of overall burn out + irl things coming to the forefront of my focus. i'll be moving in the next couple months into an apartment, which means i'll be switching to a fulltime job at some point soon. that coupled with other irl things means i'll be pretty absent on basically all my rp blogs.

reflecting a bit here, i've definitely slowed down a lot in terms of tumblr roleplay over the years and i feel i've finally hit my ceiling.

i still really enjoy this hobby, but i've grown tired with doing it on tumblr specifically. i feel there is this impossible urge i have to keep up with everything going on with my mutuals and their characters driven by fear of missing out on potential roleplay opportunities that it becomes discouraging the more and more i'm faced with it and can't meet the expectations i set for myself. it's something i've dealt with before in the past, and it was something i was dealing with before i started becoming less and less present on here back in autumn, among other things. and i think the fact i've been less anxious and more at peace since distancing from the tumblr rp scene is a sign i should definitely listen to what my gut is telling me.

so i will be taking a proper, official break. and i think when i am ready and in a position to properly come back, whenever that may be, i'll likely be remaking and moving my sonic blogs to a multi for convenience sake.

this ISN'T a goodbye, though. i'll still be available on discord and will be lurking in the servers i'm in, and i'll probably still occasionally pop on one of my rp blogs for the occasional goof in my down time. BUT for the time being, in terms of proper roleplay - i'm gonna be restricting that to discord only.

you're welcome to ask for my discord, if you'd like to keep in contact (but i will be selective with who i give it to). i've been kind of a social hermit lately though i'm trying to NOT be that and interact with people again.

ngl, I worry sometimes I come off as a little hard to approach. contrary to what people might assume - I'm actually a pretty shy mun 😅 and adding a some introversion & adhd into the mix can make me hard to reach in DMs cuz of limited social battery & attention issues. plus I think only seeing me when I'm on my blogs can create sort of an image that might be a little intimidating? (god knows I struggle with that myself sometimes fkshf)

but yeah, let it be known that I am NEVER annoyed if you DM me / wanna reach out to plot things, if we're mutuals you're absolutely more than welcome to! and tbh I think the best way to interact with me is to just throw your muses at mine, just totally go for it. even if I don't respond to it right away - it shows me interest, which does help me know when I can approach to plot/interact as well!

hero still goes by sonic, because its a cool name and she likes it!

cynic changes hers from sonic to 'spite' post running away from home because it sounds badass and also fitting for her identity

sonic's transition is a pretty smooth one, spite's is a little bit rocky by comparison. sonic has gotten all the surgeries she felt she needed, spite is kinda debating lmao she kinda steals her resources so.

aaand yeah thats about it! nothing else really changes about them, their personalities still are very much the same save for some small differences.

oh yeah and both are still hella androgynous vibes. just in fem flavor.

it does bring me back to an idea i had for him that ties into what happens to him after death, but the thought that sonic WAS a god of some sort (the god of freedom / spirit of the wind, if you will) but decided to reincarnate himself as a mortal because he wanted to better understand humanity and was curious about what it was like to live like one. and also, because he was bored.

i'm personally extremely biased towards silver and how he was in 06. i never really understood how they took the line 'you're so naive' (in reference to whether or not it's right to kill someone in order to save the world) and defined his entire personality around that in later depictions of silver. he's only 'naive' because he grew up in a literal apocalypse and had to fight every day just to survive, so he doesn't understand the nuances of social connections and also maybe has a slightly skewed moral compass.

also can i just say i always always always loved how sonic was straight up dead and everyone was about to give into despair because solaris had 'won' but silver was like 'no, i refuse to give up' like this boy does not know how to quit and i adore him for that.
