#snap chats#we all know if i knew how to mod id make so many stupid masadai screenshots but not the point#ive been obsessed with solo runs for rpgs for a while so NATURALLY i wanna ask the question if each y7 chara can solo the game#i was thinkin of saeko specifically cause. 1.) love u 2.) in my first playthrough i primarily used her for support#though subsequent playthroughs obvi i switched her up to be way more offensive#the only chara you really can do this with is ichi and MAYBE adachi since. well ichi's obvious but adachi's the earliest accessible#'what about nanba' girl he LEAVES FOR THREE CHAPTERS#and ofc you only get saeko come chapter 5 - same thing for eri. not gonna even MENTION joon gi and zhao LMAO#so obvi i dream of a mod where you can swap ichi- at least for battles- for any of the other party members#if youve seen rpg runs that ft multiple members at a time then yk the plan is to just have everyone else block and do nothing#or get them ko'd as fast as possible. but obvi in this Mod Reality i would just have The One character to make it. awful LMAO#i mean me and other rpg enjoyers think y7's easy enough so why not the extra challenge#adachi gets the Can Also Do This Run pass since he's playable just about as long as ichi is#exceptions being of course the first chapter / beginning of second chapter and the first sawashiro fight / chapter 3#i already know people are thinking of the jima fight.... throwing up at that thought#honestly i think JUST them might make the challenge impossible#at least with ichi you have the poundmates but the others Id Consider to be out of luck#itd be fun imo to see how far each chara could get tho#beyond grinding i think youd HAVE to master perfect guarding not just for the jimas but ESPECIALLY for tendo#kiryu doesnt exist to me. apparently. idk he was a wash on my first playthrought but joon gi WAS the unintentional punching bag so--#anyway im almost done with this comm i just gtta shade it so bye

Liang gave a slow nod, and hesitantly left, leaving Rock alone with the ghost of the weeping girl, crouched just by her own body.
Well, okay, they weren't really alone if Rock was honest. There were other ghosts in the room, but none of them were as expressive. None of them paid anyone or anything else any mind. The weeping girl, however, caught his eye for some reason. Most likely because she wasn't wandering aimlessly with a dull look in her eyes. He couldn't actually see her face from here, as she was curled over, face buried against her legs as she sobbed and mourned her own passing.
Before anything else, Rock decided to be true to his word, and write a message. He tore a small piece from one of the class notices and picked up a pen that someone had left on the teacher's desk - some cutesy purple thing with a bear head on the end and pink hearts all over it, he didn't know how long it had been there, but after a test scribble or two, it wrote with no difficulty - and simply wrote 'We'll spread the word if we see anyone. See you here later. Rock and Liang.' That was good enough. It was enough to just say 'someone else is here, someone else has seen this'. He wouldn't be sure if the others knew about the whole closed spaces and different dimensions thing. He didn't think he could explain it himself anyway, so he turned away from the desk, and from the notes, and found himself approaching the ghost girl.
As if she could sense his approach, the girl tensed, then looked up, seemingly frightened of the man approaching her. Rock carefully walked around the body on the floor, and crouched down beside the ghost.
"Hey..." He didn't ask if she was okay. It was clear she'd been stabbed to death, and it was very clear that she wasn't ever going to be okay again. The girl stared at him for a long time, and then said
"You can see me."
"I can see all the ghosts here." He answered honestly.
"They stole my pen."
Huh? "Who did?"
"Those two boys from before. They took my favourite pen. It was a gift, and they took it!"
"The...the purple one with the bear on it?"
The girl gave a slight nod.
"Well, it's still on the desk, they just wanted to borrow it to-"
"They didn't borrow it, they didn't give it back! They didn't think they had to, because I'm not alive like they are. Living people can be so selfish..."
"Everyone here is scared. Sometimes, we don't think about people who are dead when we might die too." He got up and fetched the pen, bringing it back to the girl. "I'm sorry they didn't bring it back to you. Here you go."
The ghost stared at him, and he frowned before pressing the pen into the corpse's hand, careful not to touch the body with his own skin. The ghost now stared at the pen, and Rock began to think he should just leave, and then the girl said, in a quiet voice "Thank you."
"Don't worry." He stood up and raised a hand to wave goodbye.
"You're nice."
"...Yeah. Sorry."
The girl watched him, and then said "I don't want anyone else to see me like this."
He looked down at the body. He wouldn't want to be seen like that either. "Can I...do anything?"
"...Hide my body..."
Okay, no. Not if it involved moving the body. No way. "I...I'll see what I can do."
"Thank you. I know it's not a nice thing to ask, but you're the only one who can hear me, and you're nice..."
"...It's okay, I...I understand." And if he thought about it, he guessed he did understand. The body wasn't pleasant to look at, and he wouldn't want random people staring at his body if he were to die...
Bad thought. Rock should not think about the possibility of his own death. "I'll see what I can do." He promised again, looking around as if something he could cover the body with would just suddenly appear.
"Are you lost?" It was the sound of Liang's voice, somewhat muffled through the door, asking that question that pulled Rock's attention away from the ghost. He slowly walked over and opened the door.
"Liang?"
Liang barely spared him a glance. "Wait! Um...young lady?"
Young lady? Rock moved to stand beside him, trying to see who he was talking to. Again, ghosts milling around the room blocked his view. Despite this, he did see one of the especially young figures in the distance, not milling around aimlessly like the others. A little girl in a tattered red dress. Standing there, looking around with her back to them, like she wasn't sure where she was.
"Why don't you just go up to her?" Rock asked.
"I don't want to scare her. We're strangers to her, and much bigger than she is. She turned away from me when I called out to her. I think she's wary of me."
The girl glanced back. Her dark hair covered her face, but Liang could see one eye peeking through the greasy curtain. She looked him straight in the eye, then turned and ran down the corridor. Not as if she were scared of them, but more like..."She wants us to follow her." Liang took off after the girl before Rock could say or do anything. With a sigh, he followed.
The little girl didn't once look back to check they were following, or respond to them calling out to her. Rock assumed she was a normal little girl, trapped here just as the two of them were. She was probably leading them to someone who was hurt or stuck, hoping they'd help her. Why she wouldn't talk to them, though, was another point entirely. Rock supposed it was because she was shy or afraid. She looked no older than eight or nine, if he had to guess, so he could understand her being terrified. The little girl led them around a few corners, and with one more turn, the girl disappeared from sight.
Instead of the girl, they found themselves in a thin, foul smelling corridor. Of course, the whole place smelled foul, but something about this place smelled of fresh death, a smell Liang could, unfortunately, distinguish. At the end of the corridor, at another turn, someone was crouched, peeking around the corner.
"Tsukumo!" Rock called out, running to the other inmate, who jolted to attention before turning and placing a finger over his mouth, a universal signal for 'shut the hell up'. Frowning, Rock crouched next to him. "What's up?"
Tsukumo wasn't quite sure how to respond. He was naturally very tense, and after a moment he turned back to the corner, to whatever he was looking at before. "They're...playing with it." He managed to choke out.
"Playing with what?" He moved forward just enough to see around the corner, and saw what Tsukumo was staring at. Three children, stood by a red splat on the wall. Two of them were playing a game of tug of war with some kind of rope, while the third was dipping her hands in the red and then smearing them on the one clean patch of wall. Finger painting.
"What's that they're pulling on?" Rock asked, still not entirely sure what he was looking at.
"Intestines." Liang replied softly from somewhere over his shoulder. And as soon as he said it, Rock began to make sense of the scene. The red was blood, the unidentifiable lumps were bones and organs, and indeed the thing the children were tugging between them was the intestine of whoever that person used to be. For a brief moment, among the milling ghosts, he thought he saw someone he knew, but before he could be sure, he had turned away from the scene to vomit over the opposite wall. Of course, he'd seen the other dead bodies there, and they'd been horrific - he'd felt quite ill earlier as well - but there was something about this one, it being so much fresher, and so unrecognisable as a person, that really made reality crash down on him. They were in a place where people had died, where people were dying. It wasn't just haunted with old spirits who had died long ago, people were dying here and now, as they spoke. They were in a situation where they themselves could die at any moment, and finally accepting that as the truth was a cold and maddening thing.
Behind him, he heard Tsukumo and Liang talking. They kept their voices low.
"I...I don't want to see it, but I can't look away."
"It might be for the best to keep the spirits in view. Did they do that?"
"I don't know. It wasn't there before, and then it was...I didn't see it happen, but..."
"...Have you seen anyone else from Nanba?"
"Other than you two?" He heard a shuffle as Tsukumo moved away from the corner of death. "I haven't seen anyone. No-one alive, anyway...and no-one from Nanba."
"I see. Same with us. Well, we've seen a note from Upa." He heard more movement, and then there was a hand on his back, and another brushing his hair away from his face. Liang's next words were spoken from right by his ear. "He said we should meet him in the classroom...um...which one was it? 2-A?"
"1-A." Rock corrected. Then frowned. "I think. Did we go up or down after there?"
"No, no, I think you're right. It was on the first floor. Are you okay?"
Rock took a deep breath through his mouth, made sure he wasn't going to vomit again, and nodded.
On their way back to 1-A, they discovered that Tsukumo hadn't really learned much about where they were. He couldn't find a way out, or any windows that opened. Liang did his best to explain the multiple dimensions thing in a way Tsukumo would understand, and stated that it was a good sign they'd found each other, considering they'd been told they were in a different dimension to anyone they knew to begin with. As long as they stuck together and kept moving, kept looking, they'd figure it out. He was still trying to be optimistic, at least for the others. Rock had to try the same.
No-one new had been in 1-A, and nothing else was added to the messages. They collectively considered waiting there for a moment, but decided against it. They needed more information about this place. They didn't feel comfortable waiting around. They needed to be sure no-one was in any danger.
Also, Liang needed to use the bathroom.
After a little bit of pretty aimless wandering, the three of them found themselves on the top floor, stood outside the bathrooms. The door on the right was boarded up and sported an 'out of order' sign. The door on the left opened with no resistance, and Liang didn't bat an eye as he stepped inside.
"Uh...Liang?"
He looked back over his shoulder. Neither Rock nor Tsukumo seemed willing to enter the room.
"What?"
"...That's the girl's bathroom."
"It's also the only bathroom. It doesn't matter anyway - this place is abandoned, aside from the people who trapped us here and their victims. People might be hiding in here. We might find someone we know. Especially those two perverts from Building 3."
The others seemed to agree, but still didn't follow him in, and he shut the door behind him before walking to the stalls.
There were five cubicles. Three were smashed in, and under the rubble of the second, he could see an arm. The remaining two, the doors had been torn off, and over the toilets lay piles of bodies. Teenage girls, mostly, in varying stages of decay, flies and maggots crawling across their flesh and buzzing in the air nearby. A quick look over confirmed that it was very unlikely that anyone Liang knew was among the deceased here, and he decided to walk out again, not wanting to spend more time than he had to in the presence of all that death.
"That was quick." Rock commented when his friend came back into view.
"Is there something wrong?" Tsukumo asked, taking in the expression on Liang's face.
"...No. It's fine. These ones are out of order as well, though." He doubted those two would react well to 'there were hundreds of corpses in there and I'm pretty sure the one with no face was a kindergartener'.
"So where do we go now?" Asked Rock
That was a good question. With the exception of the hallway with the splattered body, and things otherwise inaccessible without going through there, they'd explored just about every part of that school they could get to, or at least Rock and Liang had. It seemed their only real options were to wait at the classroom for someone else to turn up or walk down that path, provided the ghost children were gone. Wandering aimlessly wouldn't be much help any more. Perhaps it was time to come up with a plan. "Back to the classroom. We'll try and figure out a proper action plan from there, think properly about our options and priorities."
"What are our options?" Tsukumo asked as the three hesitantly walked to the stairs.
"...Not great. Our options are not great."
As they reached the top of the stairs, another earthquake shook them. Liang, already taking a step down, overbalanced and barely avoided tumbling headlong down. Behind him, Rock and Tsukumo also had trouble keeping their balance, and the former found himself falling against the latter hard. They landed in a tangled heap on the floor and stayed there until the shaking stopped.
"Damn earthquakes..." Liang muttered as he got to his feet. The last time there had been one like that, they'd been shunted into a different dimension.
Wait.
"It's over..." Rock sat up.
"Rock, does anything look different up there to you?"
He cast a look around. "There's a flyer on the wall now...
"We've jumped dimensions again. We may need to check around old places again."
Rock groaned. "So where are we going now?"
"We should stick to the plan of going back to 1-A."
Tsukumo tapped Rock on the shoulder. "You can get off me any time."
When the group made their way back to classroom 1-A, they found the biggest difference between this dimension and the previous one. Where there had previously been a solid wall was now a hallway ending in a door. "That wasn't there before, was it?"
It was a moment before Liang responded. "That first ghost said there was a second wing."
"You think that's the second wing?" Rock asked, walking toward the door.
"It must be. Question is, why is it only visible now?"
Rock pushed the door open with a shrug. "You think it might be a trap?"
"I think here, everything could be a trap."
As the door opened, the sound of the rain became all that clearer. Beyond the door was a walkway leading to another building. The second wing. The walkway had high rails either side, presumably to keep the children from straying into the forest. The rails came up to Liang's chest, and were connected to a canopy or roofing above them, keeping the rain mostly off the walkway, but for a leak or two.
"We're outside..." Tsukumo muttered, sounding surprised and relieved. "There's a way out of here."
"The ghost we spoke to said there was no escape. He also knew about the second walkway though..."
"Guess he wasn't right about everything, then."
Rock slid open the door to the second wing and let Tsukumo enter before him before glancing back and realising Liang had stopped about halfway across the walkway. "Uh, Liang? You coming?"
"I'll join you in a moment." He was stood at the rail, looking out at the forest.
"Why? You see something?"
"Nothing useful." He shifted his weight, looking uncomfortable. "I still have to go, is all."
"There's...there's probably a bathroom in the second wing."
"...I...can't hold it. I'll go out here and join you in a moment."
Rock looked out at the forest, and ghosts of people who had died out there glared back at him. "Don't go into the forest."
"Hmm? Why not?"
"I just...I think it would be bad."
"What can you see?"
"...More ghosts. They look really angry."
Liang nodded. "I'll stay close to the building." He would rather have been able to find somewhere a bit more secluded than by the school walls, considering he would have to remove almost his entire jumpsuit, but it honestly didn't matter that much. Plus he hadn't really wanted to go into the forest to begin with. He could see some of the corpses on the edge, and certainly didn't trust it. "You two see if you can find anything. I'll join you in a moment."
"Okay. Yell if you run into any murderers. Or ghosts. Or murder ghosts."
"I will."
With that, despite not feeling okay with it, Rock went inside and the door shut behind him. Liang took another look at the railing. A more normal person, a person who hadn't undergone such intense physical training, would have had a lot of difficulty climbing over it, but for him it was an easy vault. He landed without difficulty on the grass on the other side, then something caught his eye. Movement. When he looked, he saw a figure at the edge of the forest. A little girl with her hair in pigtails. She had a sort of blue light around her, and it didn't take a genius to realise what that was. She sported some brutal-looking injuries, most notably the complete absence of her right eye, and was almost certainly not actually alive. She had been one of the children playing tug of war with someone's entrails before.
He hesitated. Took his eyes off the girl for a second, and suddenly, they were nose to nose. She'd covered all that distance in the blink of an eye, her small hands reaching for his shoulders as she screamed something at him. A question he couldn't work out.
She didn't have a tongue, he noted as he saw her mouth open. He stepped back, thinking the best thing to do would be to get back inside, and his foot slipped against the wet mud. He fell back, hitting his head hard against the railing. He reached up blindly, grabbing part of the rail and using it to haul himself up as the ghost watched him and reached for him again. He was pretty sure he'd let out an involuntary yell when he'd fallen, and wondered if that had alerted Rock and Tsukumo or not. The girl repeated her mournful question as he pulled himself back over the railing. It was garbled, presumably because of her missing tongue, but the more she repeated it, the more he could understand.
'Where is my eye? Give me back my eye'
She was reaching for his eye. That was what she wanted. He observed her for a moment as she stood just beyond the rail. And then she stepped forward, and stepped through the rail as if it wasn't there.
Of course. She was a ghost, after all.
Liang walked calmly to the second wing, shutting the door behind him. The entryway of the building was empty. "Rock? Tsukumo?" He walked to the middle of the room, trying to figure out where they might have gone. There were two doors leading out, one to the left, one to the right. "Guys?" They had to be in earshot. Rock had said to call out if he needed help, so he needed to be able to hear. Unless he was too stupid to think about that. Sighing, he decided he would just have to go looking for them. He went to the right, and heard the front door open and shut behind him. Logically, that was most likely the ghost girl giving chase. He picked up the pace a little. He couldn't exactly drop-kick the ghost kid in the face if she presented a real threat to him or anyone else.
The second wing was three storeys high. The bottom floor held nothing special. Shoe cubbies, a girls' toilet (unusable, of course), a few cabinets, and some dead bodies. The second had some classrooms and the boys' toilet, though that was also blocked up, this time with protective charms. The other doors, he opened long enough to see if the others were in there, then moved on. The third floor was nothing but a locked door that claimed to be the principal's office. No sign of the others. They can't have gone back to the main building, though. They would have had to have passed him to do that. He found that walking through the second floor allowed him to loop around to the left door from the entryway. He'd not seen the ghost girl, but he was sure he'd heard footsteps behind him the whole time. Feeling nervous, he walked to the door again, startling when a cabinet fell behind him. Shaking away the nerves, he tugged at the door, and it didn't budge. Frowning, he pulled again. Nothing.
Unusual. That door opened without any issue before. With a sigh, he took a step back, aimed a kick at the door, and cursed when all that achieved was a sore foot.
It looked like he was trapped.

an artist, through and through
ok I'm gonna write something that's actually good (HAH yeah right) and to do that, I'm writing about a ship that, oddly enough doesn't get a lot of attention.
story takes place years after nanba. nico and rock are around their late 20's in this. (26/27 and 29.)
warning for swearing (obviously) and a suggestive/slightly nsfw scene later. note: the lines that come in the middle are to symbolize a scene taking place shortly after the first scene. (kinda similar to how the series and many other animes do.) and the one in the middle is to symbolize that the next part takes place on another day. (hopefully this makes sense lol sorry if it doesn't).
(name of the fic is a lyric to a ken ashcorp song. guess what it is~)
the scratching of a pen filled the mostly quiet room as nico sketched on the piece of paper on his desk. said desk was scattered with finished colored pages, other blank drawing pages for later, pencils, pens, a corkboard with pictures and sticky notes and a lamp that was located above the piece of paper he had.
despite being completely concentrated with the piece, his ears perked at the sudden sound of keys jingling from the other side of the door. he continued to stay focused though as he heard the door unlock and slowly crack open, and then fully open, the door silently, or as silently as it could be closing, and light tiptoeing of work boots on the floor.
"I can hear you." he said. the boots stopped instantly. "sorry. didn't know if you were busy inking or somethin'." rock replied, heavy footsteps moving to the back of nico's chair, strong and hairy arms coming down on him and slowly encircling him.
he stopped the strokes he was doing to put his hands on said arms. "so, this the new chapter?"
"yep! I'm halfway there!" he announced throwing a fist in the air.
"so you gonna let me take a peek?" rock asked tilting his head to see the page. nico huffed his cheeks out. "no! that'd be spoilers! and I'm NOT gonna let you see till it's done!"
"aw c'mon. just a little peak?" he teased. nico threw his hands in the air to his face, trying to keep him from looking any closer. "AAAAAUUUUUGH NOOOOOO!"
_____
"by the way, I gotta go to a store. can you come with me?"
"sure."
at that nico went to take out a pair of sweat pants, a hoodie, sunglasses, gloves, and a medical mask. why didn't he ask him after he got in his disguise? he thought to himself.
after nico prepared himself the two were off. all of this was so weird to rock as they walked. he knew nico's fixation on manga and anime and comics would leave him inspired to make something, but he along with the rest of the guys never thought that it would lead to him actually succeeding in it.
once he mailed his manga idea all of them were ready for him to be denied and comfort him. it left them surprised when he got the memo back that the company liked his idea and wanted him to make it, which he got around the time they all left prison.
after that the two were able to get their own apartment together and rock got into working in construction, just to make a little extra for food and bills. that and boredom strikes fast when your not escaping from prison or fighting anyone.
the change though to only him and nico being together was still something he was getting used to, even if it's already been a while since they left prison. they were still able to keep in contact with everyone but it was a little hard getting used to not having two extra roommates to come back to. one advantage though was that now the two didn't have to worry about any...accidental walk ins from anybody. they still had to keep quiet due to neighbors but it was manageable.
his sudden trip down memory lane stopped once he saw nico had stopped. the otaku then took two steps forward and pointed in n overly dramatic anime pose. "THERE IT IS!" he announced. rock looked to see he was pointing at a clothing store.
he was a bit disappointed cause he thought they were gonna go to the grocery store or something. he had run out of purple dye a while ago and had been meaning to get some more but forgot. now his hair was mostly red with the purple on the tips of his hair, taking a bit of a darker shade. but oh well he suppose he'll have to go himself sometime. cause he sure as hell wasn't gonna wait another week to go back and get it. though it was odd that nico wanted to go here specifically. but rock had a feeling he knew why he wanted to come here.
the two entered the shop with nico seeming to already know exactly what he wanted, as he dragged rock to one of the clothes racks and then to the dressing rooms, holding an outfit.
"I need you to wear this." he said, and held out a-...oh no. a school girls uniform. it was the typical white short sleeved blouse with red bow n the middle and blue skirt. it seemed to have been a costume though, given that it was all connected. he sighed.
"uh, yeah, I can't wear that." nico pouted angrily at him. ho boy, here they go.
"but what about that time hitoshi-san made us all dresses-"
"it's not a skirt thing I just- it won't fit."
"poppycock." and with that nico opened one of the open dressing rooms and walked in. after a bit he came out, wearing the dress. rock could feel his face get hot.
"see. if it can fit me than it can fit you too!" he stated.
"that's kinda the opposite of what you meant."
suddenly the two heard snickering and looked over to see a small group of boys snickering and playfully whistling at nico, and saying stuff that rock couldn't understand but he sure as hell had a feeling of beating them up now. though he halted it once he saw nico giggling at them and posing at them.
"heehee they like it."
"uh nico. I don't think their serious about all that."
"hm? well too bad for them cause I'm gonna take these as genuine compliments."
"n-ni-ko-sensei?!"
the two looked over to see two highschool girls looking at nico in disbelief. they must've been fans considering they knew nico somehow and, looking closely, rock could see one of them holding one of nico's manga series chapters.
the three then started talking, with nico talking in perfect Japanese. it wasn't much of a surprise though, not only did he consume a lot of anime and manga but he also ended up gaining a disease where if he hears a certain language, he can speak it fluently. he didn't catch onto much of what they were talking about, Japanese being his weakest in understanding beside a couple of phrases and words but that was about it. all he could get out of it was the two were talking about his manga being great and all that.
incidents like this didn't happen a lot shockingly enough. nico tried hard to keep from anyone seeing him and disguising himself. but something would come up and it'd end with him undisguised and getting noticed by fans. not all their interactions were bad most of the time, despite wasting time. some were nice, some were weird, and some were just...ugh.
if they were ever together when those type of fans came around rock was instantly there close to nico. though he has heard that the times he wasn't around nico had to bear with those types though it usually ended with him saying he was very busy and couldn't stay. he did though buy a pepper spray JUST incase, so rock was fine with it.
he didn't even notice the girls had left already and nico had come back from the dressing room in his disguise again, with the outfit in tow.
"okay! we can go." he said. he paid for the outfit and the two left.
===
after they got back, nico undressed himself from his disguise...and then undressed himself suddenly from his actual outfit, causing rock to jump at the suddenness of it. thank god their place was on a higher level and they didn't have to worry about strangers walking by the window and seeing.
the smaller male then grabbed the bag from rock's grip and pulled out the dress and started dressing himself up in it. "could you get my camera?" he asked. rock obliged and went over to the desk and opened the top drawer on the right, pulling out a large camera.
turning around he saw nico had already put on the school shoes and white stockings that matched the outfit and was currently ripping the small bag with hair accessories that also came with it. after nico put whatever accessories he wanted in his hair, which was a red scrunchie and two hair clips he went over to rock and started pulling him to a part of the room and commanding him to be in a specific position.
"ok!" he said as he walked away and got into a running position. "make sure you take a couple okay?"
"ok."
"and try not to let your big fingers get on the lens."
"got I-wait hey!" nico giggled at his reaction. turning on the camera and putting his finger lightly on the button, he was ready. "ready?" "yep!"
they took a couple pictures before nico told him to stop and went to look at them. he smiled "THESE ARE GREAT!" and with that he took the camera and went back to his study, quickly getting to work on his next page.
"neh rock." rock raised his gaze from the magazine he was reading and looked to see nico, looking a bit...nervous? he was blushing, his gaze was going anywhere but him, and his smile was weak. he wanted him to do something for him he thought. this was always how nico reacted when he needed something.
"yeah?" he asked. nico's face got redder as he rubbed a finger on his cheek, mumbling. "uh...um...could you uhm, c-could you maybe, uhm..." he then pulled one of his arms from behind his back and both his hands grabbed what it was in his grasp and pushed it to him. "c-could you uh...wear...this?" he asked.
rock took it and feeling it it was an outfit. he turned it over to see a red bow tie on a white short sleeved shirt. coupled witht the shirt was a matching blue skirt. oh god he thought. not again.
"nico I said I can't wear-"
"I-I know but, I got you one in a size that'll fit you." he smiled. "it was actually the biggest size!"
"that's...nice." rock muttered, not exactly thrilled at that statement. "is this for a reference? why not just wear your outfit and I take the pictures like last time?"
"I...forgot." rock squinted at nico suspiciously.
nico clasped his hands together. "please. please. pleeeeaaaaaase. it's only a couple of photos I promise!"
rock sighed in defeat at nico's begging. if it was only a couple of photos then fine he guessed. though, he was gonna close the window just to be careful. "alright." he agreed. nico cheered in victory as he turned around. "ok. get dressed. I'm not peaking."
"you DO know you've seen me undressed before right?"
"I wanna be surprised!"
---
this was so awkward rock thought as he stood fully in the outfit. he knew regardless if it was the largest size it wouldn't exactly fit well. the top looked more like a tank almost crop top that showed his abs, the sleeves were a bit tight around the shoulders, but the skirt wasn't that bad but he naturally pulled it down a bit, not used to it. the shutter sound of a camera went off as he did that and he looked back to see nico.
"that was a nice one! very natural." he said.
"yeah yeah very funny. so, what'dya want me to do?"
nico then quickly pointed to their bed. "get on the bed." rock looked over at it, back at nico and back at it again. "heh, you sure this is for a reference? or was that an excuse for something else?" he teased. nico flushed and stuck his tongue out. "nyeh."
the hefty male decided to go along with the artist's demand and went to lay down on it. "ok, now put your hands behind your head, curve your leg up a bit, and try to look relax." the otaku ordered. rock complied. "lower the leg a little. little more. aaaaaaand there! perfect!"
rock could hear him getting the camera ready. "try to relax a bit."
"I am."
"your faking it. c'mon just pretend I'm not taking a picture of you in a school girls uniform."
"that doesn't help."
"just relax. like you usually do." at that rock took a deep breath in and out slowly, relaxing. the camera shutters went off multiple times till he hard them stop and the pitter patter of feet walk towards him. "that all?" he asked.
"not yet. I need close ups now." nico said. he then caught rock by surprise as he moved ontop of him, straddling him a bit. "wh-what are you-" "just relax. just keep the relaxed look and look as if your looking up at the ceiling." rock calmed himself again and did just that. after a few pictures nico told him to side eye the left side, and then after that the right.
"could you...lean up a bit?" nico asked. rock leaned up a bit on his elbows. he got a closer look at nico's face. he could see the deep blush on his cheeks and the look of lust and he swore hearts in his eye. he looked so cute. the burly man ended up turning his head to the side blushing a shade of pink, and the shutters went off again.
"that's...that's a good one." nico muttered. rock just chuckled silently. "y-yeah...very funny." he muttered as nico leaned over to the nightstand next to their bed. "so...is that it?" "just one more thing." he hummed, putting the camera down on the table and moving back. before rock could ask what he needed to do, his mouth was suddenly captured by nico's, kissing him.
the sudden kiss caused him to fall back on the bed as nico started to lick his mouth, wanting entrance. rock complied and the two's tongues started wrestling. he had a feeling his eyes weren't playing tricks on him earlier when he thought he saw...something in nico's shorts. the two made out heatedly, with nico's hands suddenly moving under his shirt and gripping his chest, twisting his nipples.
that was enough for him to sit up and quickly push nico down, kissing and touching him roughly. in the past he's tried to refrain such animalistic instincts when it came to nico pushing those right buttons. but after finding that he started to purposefully push them and infact liked when he got a bit crazy he refrained the inner animal less.
after a while they broke off, panting with a saliva trail following. "so," rock panted, wiping the saliva. "I guess...that need for a reference...wasn't the only reason you wanted me to do this right?"
"h..hah, yeah." nico replied. "but...this wasn't..the only reason I wanted you to do this." rock raised a brow at that. "actually, the other reason I wanted you to pose was because...well, you taking pictures of me posing...weren't that great."
that comment immediately caused rock's mood drop dramatically. "I mean," nico continued. "they weren't BAD but, y'know. they weren't great. but they DID work as a good reference. from what I was able to work with." he muttered the last sentence but rock heard it clear as day. he quickly got off of nico and walked in the direction to the bathroom.
"wha-wait rock! where you going?!"
"getting changed."
"what?! but-but I- but we haven't- ROCK COME BACK! ROOOOOOOOOCK!"
that night the poor fool of an otaku had to unreplenish his sexual desires by fapping to the reference pictures he took earlier. and then proceeded to sleep in his soft and squishy bean bag and blanket, considering that he was also kicked out of bed that night.

Chapter 11 of ?
Uno leading the way, despite this being an unfamiliar place, brought several benefits. He had a better sense of direction and much better luck than Jyugo had, so if anyone could lead them to some safe space or exit to this hell maze, it was Uno. His intuition had led them true nine times out of ten, and after a bit of walking he'd managed to calm down enough to use it to their advantage. They'd not come across the monster again, at the very least. After he seemed to feel they were far enough away from the zombie and the death room, he stopped and leaned against a wall with a sigh. Jyugo leaned next to him and they waited in silence for a time.
"...How are your feet, Jyugo?"
"My feet?" He looked down, frowning. Now he thought about it, they were getting sore, and when he looked at them, he saw bruises, cuts and dirt. The floor here was a lot less comfortable to walk on than the floor at the prison. Stones and sharp objects were all over the place. Walking in the prison, his feet would be absolutely fine, but here they were chewed up pretty quickly. It was similar to walking up and down an unkempt alleyway for a few hours. At least he hadn't stepped on any more rusty nails. "They're fine." He lied.
"You want to wear my shoes for a little while?"
He shook his head, refusing as expected. "Nah, I'm good. You need them. They won't fit, anyway. Your feet are, like, twice the size of mine, and they won't get past the shackles." To prove his point, he placed one of his feet next to Uno's.
"Anything else I can do to help? Your feet look sore."
"Carry me?"
He pretended to think the request over. "Not happening. Don't want to muss up my hair."
"Of course not."
The conversation lulled again, and Jyugo felt any ease that had come over him slip away again.
"...We're definitely not in Nanba any more..."
"No." Uno looked up to the ceiling. "Don't know where this is, but we have to find a way out."
"You think the others are here too?"
"...I don't know. I hope not. Anything could happen..."
Another lull in the conversation.
"Hey, Uno?"
"Yeah, Jyugo?"
"Anyone ever tell you that you have really skinny legs?"
It was Uno's turn to look down, but before he could really come up with a response, he found himself being distracted by a not too distant sound. Rattling of chains, a tired-sounding groan followed by an uneasy squeak and a shaky 'hello handsome'.
"Wait...is that...?" At Uno's words and gesture, the two crept slowly towards the sound. The voice broke through the silence again.
"Uh...ah...you don't want to touch me, you know...anything could happen...probably something weird. Or something might explode, or...okay...how do they do this in movies? Oh, I know! BEGONE, FOUL DEMON!"
"Nico!" The two boys said this in unison, and hurried to where they believed they had heard their friend, and found themselves in a thin, dead-end corridor with tables on either side. Each table held bloodied tools and severed heads. For the time being, they managed to ignore this and walked to look through one door, on the left, at the end of the table. Through this door, they could see the huge man from before, a large sledgehammer in his hand, and on the floor in front of him was Nico.
Nico looked suitably afraid of what he was facing. The chain around his ankle had an additional link through it, leading to a loop attached firmly to the ground, and his other three limbs, normally free, were chained down in a similar manner. Upon realising that playing the priest wasn't going to drive the monster away, Nico looked around in slight panic as the man began to raise his weapon. "Okay, uhh...that's not working...what would those two pretty boys from Building 3 do?"
From next to him, Uno heard Jyugo mutter "Honey would swear at it." A second later, they heard Nico swear at the monster.
"...We need to have a talk with Honey when this is all over..." He turned away from the door a moment. "Jyugo, hide under that table-"
"What?"
"Trust me. I'm going to grab that thing's attention, lead it away from Nico. When I do that, you go in, unlock his shackles and get him out of here."
"Uno, no. What if that thing gets you?"
"It won't. Trust me, I bet you anything I'll be able to lead that thing on a merry dance and it won't even come close to catching me." He gave a thumbs up for good measure before pushing Jyugo into a suitable hiding place and getting up. The man adjusted his grip on his hammer, and Uno picked up an object Jyugo couldn't quite see  and hurled it at the beast. Whatever it was, it made a shattering noise, and the beast lowered the hammer and walked toward the door to investigate. Once he'd caught sight of Uno, Uno shouted 'come get me, idiot', turned and took back off down the hall, and as he'd expected, the creature gave chase.
Once he was sure they were out of sight, Jyugo pulled himself out from under the table and hurried into the room.
"Jyugo!" Nico exclaimed happily. "Am I glad to see you!"
"Yeah, same here." He knelt down and undid the shackles keeping Nico's limbs pinned. "Are you hurt?"
"The big zombie teacher hit me on the head earlier and it hurts, but otherwise, no."
"Okay, can you walk?"
"Yeah..."
He helped Nico up and led him out and down the hall.
"I...I thought I heard Uno..."
"Yeah, he was here...he's causing a distraction, he'll meet up with us again later. He promised." God, he hoped that thing didn't catch him. Or them. Or anyone else that might be down there.
Nico struggled to make sense of the dirt walls around him. "Is this place near the school?" He managed. They hadn't been running long, but already he was getting out of breath. Jyugo was as well, but fear of being caught was driving them on.
"School? What school?"
"The...the school. The one we woke up in, after the earthquake."
They slowed to a walk to help them catch their breath, and Jyugo looked back to him in confusion. "We woke up here. Me and Uno did, anyway."
"There's a whole school here, really! Me and Master found a lot of classrooms. It's not as nice as the ones at Nanba."
"You were with Upa?"
"Yeah, but the big zombie teacher separated us."
"Hmm...so the guys from Building 5 are here too?"
Nico nodded. "Yeah, everyone from the game room, I think! The big bird guard was with us too. I didn't want him to leave us, but he heard someone scream and...he didn't come back after that. I think something bad happened to him, too." A shiver ran through him and he drew closer to Jyugo. "I don't like this. I'm scared."
"I'm scared too...but it'll be fine. We'll get out of this." The words seemed hollow, and Jyugo wasn't sure he believed them at all. His mind flashed back to the dying screams of the teenage girl, and the thoroughly mutilated bodies he had seen. He stopped suddenly, Nico bumping into him, and shut his eyes tight, trying to think of something else. Anything else. If he had tried to fight that thing, would they have been able to save the girl? Would Uno, true to his reassurances, really be okay? Would he ever see his friend again? And what about the others, the ones who were bound to be wandering this hellscape but who they hadn't seen yet?
"...Jyugo? Are you okay?"
"...I'm just...tired..."
"Can we sit down?"
Not knowing if it was safe to, Jyugo shook his head. "We need to get out of this maze."
"Is this a basement?"
"A basement?"
"To the school. It looks like a cave."
"It does look like a cave..."
"A basement cave." There was a small silence, and Nico's next words were much quieter. "Where are we going? Where's Uno going to meet us?"
That...was a good question. Uno hadn't told him where to wait for him, and even if he had, this place was like a maze. Not even Uno's brilliant sense of direction and impeccable luck had been good enough to get them to where they wanted to go. Were they just supposed to pick a spot and wait there until someone found them? If they did that, the monster might find them first...
"...I don't know."
Nico let out a sad hum to show he understood. "He'll be okay though, right?"
"I...he'll be okay. Uno may be a crybaby, but he knows how to handle himself in scary situations." And the more he thought about it, the more he realised that was right. He probably didn't have to be quite so nervous about his friend's wellbeing...right? Well, considering the room they'd been in before, it was understandable that he was worried, but this was Uno.
Nico shook his hand free from Jyugo's grip and walked to the next corner. "If it's safe here and there's nothing coming, we can sit down for a bit, right?" Before Jyugo could even think to answer, Nico was shouting. "Jyugo! There's a door here! I think this is the way out of the basement cave!"
He hurried to Nico's side, and there was indeed a door. Unlike the previous one Jyugo had seen, this door was a sturdy-looking wooden door, no blood stains, and it was up a staircase. Considering what he'd seen behind the other doors in this place, he was sceptical that it really would be a way out and not another room full of corpses or sharp objects, but the two of them approached the door nonetheless. As with others before it, it was locked, and as with others before it, the lock was quickly opened.
"This is...this is the school."
"Here?" The hallway before them was worse than the one before. It was a straight shot, by the looks of it, and hopefully no unpleasant twists or turns. The floor looked splintery, more uncomfortable than the loose dirt from before, and had a lot of holes. The wood was clearly quite weak in places, so they would have to watch where they put their feet. He could already see more dead bodies, but it wasn't quite as horrific as the bloody room he had hidden in before. It didn't look much like a school to him, if he was honest, but then, it had been a long time since he'd really been in a school. A proper one, that was, not some prison education room for school-age inmates, which was bound to be vastly different in and of itself.
Nico nodded. "This is it. Definitely. We were by the doctor's room when..." He went quiet and looked to the floor.
"A doctor's room?" Jyugo glanced at his feet. An infirmary would be invaluable, but it was clear something was bothering his friend about it. "You okay?"
"There's...bad stuff there." Wrapping his arms around himself, Nico took a seat at the top of the stairs. "The big bird guard, Master, Uno, Master's old man friend...I don't want anyone else to get hurt..."
"...You saw Qi earlier too?"
"At the doctor's room. They..." Nico shook his head. "I don't want to remember it."
Jyugo sat beside him and awkwardly put his arm around his shoulders, hoping to comfort him. "Don't worry about it, man. We'll wait here for Uno, okay?"
"...Okay..."
"He'll find us. He's a genius, remember?"
"Yeah...we just have to wait for him."
The two of them sat there, facing the maze they'd just left, huddled together for warmth and comfort as they waited for their friend to come back to them.
