For the fic title thing: Late Night Roses and Day Lilies

Hmm… I guess the one thing that comes to mind is the non-existant 5D's arc that I'm sure we all thought of after Sherry's introduction: Akiza joins Team Sherry.

I mean, as awkward as it would be to separate her from the rest of the cast, this'd be the obvious way to give Akiza some more much-needed time in the spotlight (especially as a Turbo Duelist!), as well as continue her character development and bring some more closure to the Arcadia Movement plot.

So while most of the show's main plot would still be the same on Jack, Crow, and Yusei's end, I'd focus on Akiza's experiences training and dueling with Team Sherry — how she'd grapple with her past as a Psychic Duelist, learn to master Turbo Duels, and become close friends with Sherry and Elseworth.

And perhaps, over the course of many a late-night conversation after practice, some emotions that Akiza wasn't quite expecting would start to emerge…

#also for the side of 'how this fits in with the canon': like i said the main plot would still mostly go the same‚ just in the background #in particular the whole investigation into moment express and sherry vanishing into the wormhole would still happen the same way #(which would be extra hard on akiza) and basically serve as the re-merging point with the canon flow of events #but that would also mean that they (and i) ultimately don't have to deal with the 'what if we're matched against each other' problem #however there would absolutely be a full 3-on-3 practice duel between Team Sherry and Team 5D's. no idea how it'd actually play out though #(but i'd definitely give akiza some big W. at least let her beat one of the guys) &there'd be some other hanging out btwn the teams too ofc #oh and it'd probably end with the finale being during/after That One Duel from the final season (you know the one) but with Extra Emotions™ #thanks for the ask! #also i love how we both ended up going with 5ds WLWs for this grkxkzndnb #yugioh #5ds #5ds spoilers
