   absolutely breaks my heart thinking about the fact that the only one who really got to enjoy the fame of no spin was jiwoon himself. he wasn’t there in the years of struggle and the constant overhanging dread of disbandment, the constant pressure to do better or everything was for nothing, thinking everything was your fault because the group couldn’t break the charts. the constant harrasement from the company, seeing in real time the love for their projects getting cut shallower and shallower.

   they owe all of their success to jiwoon, and only found it because he was added to the roster. even after getting everything they wanted, everything they worked their blood sweat and tears for, there was the constant thought lingering in the background — are we gonna fail again ? how quickly can this all just slip from our fingertips ? even after their overwhelming immediate rise in fame, the original members only get to enjoy all their hard work finally paying off for TWO YEARS, a shorter amount of time in comparison to the years that they struggled, before the fire claimed their lives. who knew it wasn’t failure & disbandment they had to fear in the coming years, but death itself.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀minjun's best friend and the true leader of the no spin boys, this feline is truly at her happiest when she's curled up in minjun's lap at his desk. she's the highlight of any VLIVE that takes place in the dorms, stealing the hearts of INSPO from all over the globe. while she certainly looks grumpy, jinji is incredibly easy going and tolerant of just about all of the chaos that takes place at home. you can pick her up and throw her around, she doesn't mind, as long as you give her some chin scritches and a treat. ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀upon minjun's death, rumors have it that hak jiwoon took the feline in as his own, while other's say that lee yunjin was the one who fostered the cat. either way, it is safe to say that her M1 family is taking care of her upon her father's death.

i've talked about it a bunch but i don't think i've ever made a proper post about it on this account. but one of the headcanon's i hold dearest to minjun's characterization is that jiwoon's gaudy yellow jacket in his default skin is actually minjun's jacket. minjun's staple part of his stage persona was his jackets, dazzled in a new one every performance — but the yellow one was a fan favourite that made many appearances in performances and stages alike. it makes the aspect of jiwoon claiming the jacket all the more painful. depending on how you depict jiwoon — this could be like wearing it as a trophy, for outliving minjun and stepping out of his shadow as no spin's leader. for being what he couldn't. or it could be a sense of remembrance, to carry minjun with him, to carry no spin with him despite everything. fans had picked up on it immediately, and it really helped propel his whole sob story to the public. the fans ate it up! there's really no other way about it, they loved jiwoon and how he painted himself as this tragic figure that missed his bandmates so much, and was even honouring them in such a public way. either way, jiwoon wearing his coat gives me brainworms because no matter how much he parades around in it, tailors it to his liking, kills in it — it will always be ill fitting. he could never fill minjun's shoes.

⠀ ⠀★ thinking about how minjun struggles with intimacy and understanding that people want to take care of him as well, that not everything is just black and white. minjun is more than happy to give and give his partner whatever they want, without respecting anything in return. he can play whatever part you want him to, can blend into any scene — honestly, he's very much a service top, but he can also regonize what his partner needs and deliver just that. if they need him to be more rough, or to be gentler, etc — he likes being in tune with their needs. ⠀ ⠀★ but he needs a connection with his partner before any of this. he doesn't do one night stands, and if he does, they are on very rare occurences and will most definitely not happen again. he'll usually be the more dominant with any partner — only because he denies himself the vulnerabilty of being taken care of for once in his life. ⠀ ⠀★ he has to trust you immensely to let you dominate him, to let down his walls and trust that you're going to take care of him. minjun has spent his entire life putting his wants and needs on the backburner for everybody else in his life, so he has a firm belief that all he's good for is what he can do for the other people in his life. vulnerability just scares him so fucking much.

    * little headcanon i stole from n.amjoon but when no spin was major flopping, and he was the only one fluent in english, he used to translate any hate comments the group / a member got into something positive for them to latch onto. there was already enough negativity and damage being done from their company and the charts, the least minjun felt he could do was try and make something nice to keep the member’s heads up, that there was more love and positivity than there was hate. minjun is 100% okay with telling a little white lie if it means those he loves are happy.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀just because i think his destiny has been sealed ever since the day his father died. minjun was destined to follow him into the grave. maybe he stood a chance, his career was already dying enough, so maybe he didn't have to go with it but — his fate was definitely set in stone as soon as jiwoon had joined no spin. this is how he'd die. and there was nothing minjun could do but blame himself for whatever jiwoon had become, unaware that there was a darkness within that boy long before minjun even met him, that he couldn't have helped him if he tried.

⠀ ⠀★ minjun auditioned for M1 ENT. after he was scouted by one of their casting agents at his high school, mainly for his visuals. minjun had expressed his interest in music to the manager, who only then urged him on further to go ahead and audition for the company. with only a week before the public auditions held by the company, minjun scrambled to come up with something he could present to the judges that wouldn't get him kicked immediately to the curb. ⠀ ⠀★ he ended up picking the song POPPY by mac miller as his audition song, wanting to showcase to the company his efficiency in english. not only did he rap it in english, minjun sat at his cramped desk in his bedroom four days before the audition and translated the chorus into korean on his own — and was then able to perform in both the languages without making it sound clumsy or awkward, the languages flowing together seamlessly like the song was made that way. since there was no choreo for the song, minjun had to freestyle it and spent hours constructing something that would make sense and not like he was just flailing around. minjun in a natural born performer, whether he believes it or not. ALSO HE WAS ONLY FIFTEEN YEARS OLD WHEN HE DID ALL THIS!!!! ⠀ ⠀★ he passed the audition with flying colours despite his crippling doubts, and had thoroughly wowed the judges with his abilities. he trained for three years with the company before debuting in the company's newest group, NO SPIN. minjun was the oldest out of the four boys chosen for the group, and held himself the highest amongst them. because of how quickly he was forced to grow up, his childhood in a pathetic heap in the corner of his brain, minjun was wise beyond his years. the most mature out of all the 13-19 year old boys he was training with, he was handpicked by the company to bear the title of the leader for the group. ⠀ ⠀★ he's the first line of defense. the spokesman, the voice of reason, the glue of the group, etc etc etc. the boys come to him with their problems, and minjun figures out a solution for them. it's really all not much different from how he was raising his little sisters. he's already got the skillsets he needs for taking care of them. with his efficiency in english, he also acts somewhat as a translator for the member's and for the international fans.
