I deeply relate to John Granby and Henry Ferris because I too would immediately develop a crush on Will Laurence because he's hot and then fall in love with him because he's a good person, and I'd be just as weird about it

#*Granby voice* yes SIR anything you say SIR you have beautiful eyes SIR #*Ferris voice* um... my mom said you could spend the night if you wanted to Mr. Captain Laurence sir #temeraire #john granby #henry ferris #granby #ferris #will laurence #william laurence #I'm in the middle of rereading the second book so we haven't met Ferris yet #but I loved him the first time so here we go #thinking about granby again #whats new #and how in the first book there's that scene when temeraire's harness straps are badly cut #and Laurence basically launches himself over temeraire's shoulder to reattach them #and hes hanging in mid air and granby bodily pulls him back up and laurence hooks his harness onto granby's #and they are smooshed face to face basically hugging both covered in sweat and dragon blood and totally reliant on each other #its the moment when they both realize they can trust each other person to person and not just captain to lieutenant #I just know thats the moment when granby starts letting himself fall in love #ferris on the other hand has what is basically a crush on laurence until he gets kicked out of the aerial corps for treason #and then they reconcile later and ferris is pissed but he knows that laurence did the right thing #and he can't really be mad at laurence because he saved hundreds of dragon lives at great personal cost #and the crush blossoms from puppy love to a deep admiration for laurence as a man #many thoughts on the subject #his majesty's dragon
