Things To Know About Thekkady
Kerala has always been attractive to travelers from all over the world. One of the most visited places in Kerala is Idukki district, whose lush green beauty is promoted by high class fame and forest valleys. Most of the beauty of Idukki is due to the three main rivers that connect these regions - Periyar, Thaliar and Thodupuzhayar and their tributaries. As a tourist destination, Idukki has amazing beauty of many activities including mountain stations, serene demos, various nature reserves and spice planting tours, adventure mountaineering and elephant rides. Talking about natural beauty, this small part is truly blessed. The large number of tribals living in the country is evidence of the resilience of the country and its people against urbanization. For more Click here.
Tumblr media
One of the most visited places in Idukki is The Thakkadi, which is also the largest nature reserve in India. It is 257 km from Trivandrum and 145 km from Cochin International Airport, 114 km from Thekkady Madurai City and Tamil Nadu Airport. The destination is 114 km from Kottayam train station. Thekkady is located near the town of Kumily on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu and attracts dense evergreen, semi-evergreen and moist deciduous forests and attractive savanna plains. Herds of elephants, sambar deer, tigers, gaurs, lion-tailed macaques and langurs of the Nilgiris are some of the famous residents. Thekadi is the dream of every nature lover visiting Kerala.
Akkadi is also the only child sanctuary in Kerala and a center for the discovery of rich treasures of tropical flora and fauna. These dense forests retain something of infinite value, namely indivisible, indivisible, the wild beauty of nature with its rich biodiversity, which includes many endangered species, as well as a valuable tribal culture in which humans and nature live in harmony. The pleasant intoxication of Thekkady is also a paradise for organic herbs and spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg and cloves. In all its restrained, other cosmic and wild beauties, Thekdi is an expression of nature.
About 500,000 people visit Thekkady every year and make a significant contribution to the state's economy. Here are some of the most popular conversations in Thekadi:
Elephant Rides - Children and adults can ride a small elephant near the Turbal Nature Park after contacting the Wildlife Information Center near the beak of the boat.
Boats - Boats of various capacities maintained by KTDC and Kerala Forest Department can be hired for a 2-hour cruise. This is the easiest and suggested option for viewing wildlife.
All these combined have made Thekkady a tourist center for a year, with the need to build many hotels, resorts and other facilities. Thekkady Periyar currently has several hotels and resorts that cater to the increasing number of tourists. From budget-priced 2-star to luxury 5-star resorts and hotels, Thakkadri guests enjoy great convenience. Over the years, many host families and farms have grown up in Thekkady to provide complete shelter to guests in a home environment.
Tumblr media
Most of the resorts and hotels were going towards the town of Kumily and the Thekkady boat dock. It is now spread over a 15-kilometer radius of the city. On KK Road, before going from Kottayam to Kumily, we can see many resorts. Famous resorts such as Forest Canopy Resort, Coffee Land Resort and Greenwood Resort are all located in K.K. way. Major dockports such as Cardamom County, Spice Village, Michaels Inn and Abad Green Forest are on the way to the boat dock. These are just a few examples. There were many other conveniences around these parts. We saw many resorts and farms en route to Munnar. Most of the resorts in Thekkady are eco-friendly and very quiet for the mind. They silently run away from the sounds of everyday life. Some hotels also offer wellness offers for the overall well being of Ayurveda treatment centers and their clients. The green nature and serene climate in these areas provide the perfect condition for Ayurveda treatment. It is an ideal refuge for healing the body and soul. No one will be able to resist and embrace the calm and wild nature here.

Choosing the best resort is as crucial as choosing the most suitable destination and the tour operator as well. A trip operator can prepare a great plan for the holidays which you have planned though, he can never decide a hotel or resort of his choice. In case your holiday plan is to a serene location like Thekkady, you can search for the best hotels in Thekkady, considering your wish lists and interests. You can also opt for the best resorts in Thekkady if you wish to enjoy a pleasant stay during your trip. Planning a journey requires skill in the area but selecting the best resorts in Thekkady is subjective which no one can know your taste of choices hotel it might depend on your standard of living, style, requirements, budget, expectations and certain personal interests. So when you are planning for a vacation, you need to get involved with your tour operator for searching your favorite resorts that align with your taste of choices and wish lists.  Here are a few things that you should be taken care of while selecting the luxury hotels in Thekkady.
Budget
Your first preference should be your budget and you can check the availability of different resorts or hotels on your budget. It is better not to go for very inexpensive options as they might lack cleanliness, facility and most significantly safety. You can expect good resorts ranging from 1500 onwards. When you take budget resorts you cannot expect anything extra in the resort but only with basic amenities. Budget hotels are favored when your mindset is to have a good stay with more focus on exploring places and activities. There are chances you may get the best price resorts from your tour operators instead of booking directly.
Location of your resort
Choosing your taste of hotel in Thekkady is another important aspect you should be taken care of while planning your trip to Thekkady. Make it a point to consider the location of the resort and its closeness to the town. Most of the famous destinations, the majority of good hotels and resorts are outside the town location; however, many decent options are very near to the town area as well. The selection process of resorts must depend on your interests. When you choose resorts that are outside the city, you get to enjoy the best sight. Whereas while staying in a city resort, there are always options to roam all over the place in the city. But when you planned the trip to get more relaxation and relief from your hectic city life, choosing the resort that is away from the city is a good option for maximizing your pleasure level during this trip. So always check the resort location before starting your trip.
Resort category
There are many luxury hotels and premium resorts in Thekkady. You can find many resorts ranging from budget to 5 Star. Resort category must depend on your budget, your standard of living, requirements, expectations and much more. You have to find resorts with good service and decent room facilities. Good resorts in Thekkady will definitely provide you with an enormous experience within the eternal natural beauty of forest and wildlife. You can also experience the spice gardens in different areas of Thekkady. A seamless environment of the resort will give you memorable Thekkady moments.
