1. why did you choose your url?

y'all know i love love loved my old one @/darlingspidey which i still use as a sideblog on another whole separate blog that i'm on when things get hectic here... but i soon realised i was turning multi-fandom in feb and i had this url miraculously saved from before and went 👀 yanno what. and... yeah. my url that i've kept for the longest + it'll probably stay that way now (hopefully) <333

.... you don't wanna know how many i have. if you ... knew, you'd genuinely think wtf. but there's 6 here that i use for different reasons. @thomasparker is one for recs.

5. why did you start your blog in the first place?

5 days before we went in lockdown, i was still part of a toxic fandom and instead, already had a tsh sideblog (@tsh-darling 😌) to get away from it all in the meantime. it was my first tom mutual who supported me when i suggested it. not a mistake at all; i love her still even though we're both busy rn 💕 and you lot. i thought that i would never get my 100 followers back lmao

it always goes back to pete. but tom hardy........ tom hardy, oh my goodness.

when i'm on my holidays, hours. otherwise, i take month-long breaks, and pop in once a week or fortnight.

to be fair these words were written in discord DMs and not in the empty google doc folder that I specifically made to put the words in because I'm just quirky like that, but thank you thank you I'll be here all week (:

to give some context I'm going to go into a brief infodump about the Killjoys universe because otherwise this is going to sound balls to the walls insane and I have not reached that level yet.

Basically its ye olde traditional xpunk (desertpunk in this case, with some cyberpunk/scrappunk elements) with the Big Controlling Corporation (Better Living Industries, often abbreviated to BLI or BLI/ND) vs The Scrappy Rebels (The Killjoys). Also the city that BLI controls is called Battery City (or Bat/Batt City for short), and the desert is split into Zones, with the zone number getting higher the further you go out. it is widely accepted fannon (as far as I can tell) that past Zone 6 there's just a radioactive wasteland. that isn't really important I just wanted to mention it. General rule is that the lower the zone number, the closer you are to Bat City but the further you are from radiation. (brief infodump I say I haven't even gotten to the part that I need to describe why I made all these aesthetic choices. lets move on to that) Okay so now that we've got like, basic setting out of the way, Killjoys are not like, a group. they're more like a shared ideology between the people who live in the desert, who range from punk ass kids who just want to fuck shit up to people who are genuinely trying to take down BLI. Like the comic explicitly touches on this. The one shared trait between all Killjoys is that they all wear customized, personalized masks (although the definition of what a mask is is pretty fast and loose. the main thing is that it has to cover a part of your face). This is because of the belief that once you die, the Phenix Witch takes your soul to the afterlife, and she needs the masks in order to find your soul. if you see me mentioning mailboxes, those are basically where Killjoys put the masks of their dead friends so the Witch can find them. it is also important to note that not all Killjoys believe in the Witch, but all of them wear masks. Masks are basically religious wear that got co-opted into being a symbol for a movement, except that the Witch actually like 100% exists and is a known entity. Also like, the vast majority of Killjoys are people who escaped from batter city, but there are also Killjoys who were born in the desert.

Okay with that infodump out of the way, lets talk about the actual AU. so the Young Justice crew are, well, a crew. a group of Killjoys who stick together and fight together. Tim, Kon, and Bart escaped from Bat City together. Also Kon is a robot it's not important really I just want to continue having Kon be the result of a highly unethical experiment because I think that's quite sexy of him, and robots (Droids) are much more prominent in this setting. He's a prototype of a droid used to infiltrate Killjoys except he said 'actually this is more fun, these people treat me like a person so I am going to not be used to kill them kthxbai' and bailed. I wasn't really sure how I exactly wanted the three of them escape, all I know is that they did it together and at some point Kon used his droid credentials to bluff his way past a checkpoint.

Secret is a ghost. I honestly didn't have a lot for her because this was made-up by me at around 3am when I was having unhinged hours but I wanted her to basically be a soul that was still attached to her mask but straight-up refused to move on. Because she's special like that. She meets Cassie at some point before the place where I started my story, because Cassie comes from the desert and not from Bat City. Also she still has her lasso except instead of it being an artifact that she stole it's now some BLI tech that she stole.

And then the brainwave ended and I was left sobbing because I wanted to know how I was going to get Cissie, Anita, and Slobo into this universe and my brain said no <3
