As a half-dragon herself, Amily has always been fascinated by reptiles, especially ones with 'dragon' in their name. Especially Komodo Dragons.
With her connection to the literal King of Dragons and his UN diplomat, as a child, Amily tried very, very hard to get the State of New York to let her have a Komodo Dragon as a pet.
Unfortunately, she didn't get her wish, and had to settle for a bearded dragon and a giant python instead. Which, they're fine, but she still wants that Komodo Dragon.

Amily Garen
Tumblr media
Amily Garen is a professional hero from Chelsea, Manhattan, representing the hero agency Street Justice. Though she’s only been in the game for 2 years now, she’s already made a name for herself as one of the industry’s rising stars. She’s an active member of NYC’s supernatural community and one of the faces of the city’s LGBT community. She’s also a vocal advocate for superhuman and drakan rights, and in her brief time as a hero, has taken part in numerous protests, marches, rallies, and demonstrations throughout the city, using her celebrity status to bring attention to causes that are important to her.
Though she’s becoming increasingly well-known individually, Amily is better known in tandem with her partner, Snow Angel. The two of them together form a rather popular duo known to fans as ‘Thundersnow’. They’re not just partners on the job, though - they’re also romantically involved, and are one of the most popular couples in the hero industry. While they make no effort to hide their relationship, the two girls are very serious about keeping their private life private, and are very careful about what they choose to reveal to the public.
Amily is on good terms with many rival heroes and agencies, and is known to team up with them on occasion - with or without Snow Angel - if they ever need a little extra muscle, as among heroes in her age group, her combat ability is unmatched. When it comes to fighting villains, Amily’s closest comparisons are all veterans decades more experienced than herself. Her training is extensive, and she’s been known to tutor others on request. She apparently taught Snow Angel everything she knows and spars with her regularly.
In spite of her skill however, Amily is yet to tap into her full power. The things she is theoretically capable of would make her a real superhero, but she still has a ways to go before she gets there. Nevertheless, she makes clever use of her inhuman strength, speed, endurance, and electrical abilities, and is known to be very adaptable and off-the-cuff in battle.
Amily’s high potential stems from the fact that she is what’s known as a halfling. Born to a superhuman mother and a dragon father, though he was never really a part of her life, Amily has always been steeped in both human and drakan culture. She’s part of a growing trend of professional heroes who’ve foregone the idea of separate hero and civilian identities, and just uses her given name instead, with her pride in her drakan heritage as a large part of the reason why. She is as far away from shy as you can possibly get and is as bold and passionate a girl as you’ll ever meet, and she wears her heart, heritage, and identities on her sleeve in hopes of inspiring others like her.
Amily was lucky enough to have piqued the interest of the King of Dragons, Sirus Albion, from a very young age. Having seen something in her, King Sirus assigned his former head of the Royal Guard - Li’alie Ninoke - to help raise and tutor Amily in her draconic ancestry and abilities. This is likely where Amily’s vast combat experience stems from, and why even without her father in her life, she is incredibly well-versed in the history and culture of the dragons.
All things considered though, halflings don’t exactly have the best rap among either race. They’re still largely considered to be outcasts, and are no strangers to bigotry or fear mongering from humans and dragons both. But Amily has never once wavered in her pride for who she is. She has worked hard and earned the respect of the humans as a hero, and of the dragons as a scholar. She’s even earned herself a title among the dragons - the ‘Blitz Dragon’ - which is almost unheard of for halflings. Because of her extensive knowledge of human and dragon cultures, and her celebrity status as a professional hero, Amily is considered by many to be one of the faces of the halfling community.
As for why she does what she does, Amily has always been stubborn and has never liked bullies. She challenged anybody who bullied her to fights she usually won, and went out of her way to get in-between other kids and their bullies any time she saw something going down. All her life, she’s wanted nothing more than to help and protect other people, and to empower those who feel like they’re powerless. She fights to put a smile on other people’s faces. That isn’t to say violence is all she knows - she often tries to resolve matters peacefully via communication before they ever escalate to that point - but she’s more than capable if it comes down to it.
She’s friends with just about every hero in her age range and is known for being very upbeat and personable. She’s described by her friends as an absolute joy to be around, and one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. She is warm and understanding, boisterous and open-minded, and at her core she just really, really loves other people. But that isn’t to say she’s inexhaustible. Like most heroes, Amily always tries to put her best foot forward publicly, but the Amily her friends and fans know and the Amily her girlfriend and her family knows are likely two very different people.
Like most heroes today, Amily is on the front lines fighting and investigating Providence. Following a warning from a veteran hero that something big was due to go down in New York, Amily has been working overtime, doing everything in her power to avert another tragedy before it happens, including teaming up with law enforcement to raid suspected Providence hideouts. She’s made a few notable busts over the last couple of months, but so far, the organization’s grander plans for the city elude her. But for as long as they are a threat, she will be there, fighting tirelessly to put an end to their schemes.
Amily is what she’s always wanted to be - a hero - and is on track to be one of the best in the entire country. But for her, it isn’t about the fame or fortune that the hero’s life entails. For Amily, it’s just about doing the right thing. If she has the power to help, then she also has the responsibility, and if there’s one thing Amily considers herself to be, it is responsible.

Li’alie Ninoke
Tumblr media
Li’alie Ninoke, also known as Lial Ninoke, is the former Captain of Aldaron’s Royal Guard and currently Aldaron’s, and by extension the dragons’, UN Representative. She is also the guardian and mentor of Amily Garen, and raised her alongside her mother. On top of all this, she remains King Sirus’ most trusted advisor, after his Queen. Because of their many roles, Li’alie is one of the most powerful and influential dragons on the planet.
Li’alie is genderfluid, alternating between male and female presentation and pronouns depending on their mood. As Li’alie, her pronouns are she/her, while as Lial, they are he/him. They also accept they/them pronouns universally. They seem to have a slight preference for feminine presentation and their birth name of Li’alie, but that doesn’t mean Lial isn’t also frequently seen. It’s usually pretty clear whether they’re one or the other, but on rare occasions, they do take on an intentionally androgynous appearance and during this time will accept either name and any pronouns.
Li’alie was born in a drakan settlement hidden in northern Africa. She was born a mutant, a giant of a dragon who in all her centuries has never stopped growing. Her size today is comparable to that of a Lion Turtle, and for this reason, she is no longer able to take on her true, dragon form. While she can partial shift her limbs, a full transformation is beyond what even the dragons’ magic is capable of shrinking down. It’s considered a miracle that they were able to modify her mass and weight, so that she does not cause earthquakes with every step even in a human form, and is rumored to rely on some sort of lost ancient technology as well as magic.
Though the place she was born was essentially the middle of nowhere, a rather small settlement of little renown, Li’alie’s life changed forever when the Captain of the Aldaron Royal Guard and champion of the dragons visited to deal with an escaped convict - D’aagor. D’aagor took a keen interest in the mutant Li’alie, and offered her an opportunity to leave her village and come back with him to Aldaron. After some consideration, Li’alie accepted, and D’aagor took her under his wing as his protege. He taught her everything he knew, and how to control her unusual size and power to her advantage.
When D’aagor defected from Aldaron and declared war on the humans, Li’alie was devastated. Though she’d always known he had a low opinion of the humans, she never would’ve guessed he had a genocide in mind. When D’aagor offered her the chance to join him and the army he had been putting together in secret, Li’alie said no, and the two fought to a stalemate. It was only when D’aagor’s right hand, Drakanar, intervened that the tides were turned in the Ice Dragon’s favor. This allowed for D’aagor to escape and declare his war.
Li’alie then went on to join her friend, the newly crowned King of the Dragons, Sirus, in an alliance with the humans. She fought by his side as his newly appointed Captain of the Royal Guard, and took part in many major battles throughout the war. While this would’ve ordinarily made her a First Hero like the King, Li’alie rejected the title. She wasn’t a hero, she was a soldier. Her allegiance was to her king and her people and that was all. Being called a hero didn’t sit right with her.
It was Li’alie who first came across Amily Garen and her mother in Manhattan in 2001. It was a chance encounter, but would change the lives of everybody involved forever, as Sirus ultimately ended up taking an interest in Amily and appointed Li’alie as her guardian and mentor. As a result, Li’alie ended up acting as Amily’s second parent, and her conduit to her drakan heritage.
Li’alie is an Earth dragon by nature, whose cries can trigger earthquakes up to a 9.9 on the Richter scale. She is considered to be the most powerful dragon alive today, due in large part to her mutant status and her tremendous size. If she were ever to unleash her full power, it would take an army to put her down.
She is the most talented warrior Aldaron has ever produced, having since surpassed her mentor D’aagor, and has passed down everything she knows to her proteges Amily and Alyle, with the latter going on to replace Li’alie as Captain of the Royal Guard. She is known among the dragons as ‘The Titanic Dragon’, and is capable of liquefying earth into magma and reshaping it as she pleases. Not an uncommon trait among Earth dragons, but her skill is unparalleled.

Cheshire
Tala dela Cruz, hero name Cheshire, is a representative of the Street Justice hero agency alongside the likes of Amily Garen and Snow Angel. She is considered to be one of the group’s best and brightest rising stars.
Though she’s new to the game, having only been heroing for a little over a year now, her clever application of her teleportation abilities, technological expertise, and overflowing charisma has put her on many an agency’s radar. Despite how fresh she is to the scene, a few agencies have tried placing bids to get her to represent them as opposed to Street Justice. But unless that agency is H2A, she isn’t interested.
She specializes in search and rescue operations and is known for her bubbly, outgoing personality on the job and in interviews. She does, however, have a tendency to try and do things her own way, with little regard for other heroes working alongside her. This makes her tricky to work with in team-up situations, and is considered to be one of her flaws that more experience should work out.
While she’s worked exclusively in search and rescue for the majority of her brief career, she has recently announced that she’s taken an interest in the crime fighting and prevention aspects of the job as well. She’s since begun training with other heroes of her agency to try and get herself up to par for such situations.
Theming herself around the Cheshire Cat, Tala’s hero outfit is as plain as it is recognizable. It is comprised primarily of a bandana worn around her face bearing the image of the Cheshire Cat’s smile, a pair of technologically enhanced goggles synced up to drones of her own design, a backpack she always carries made specifically for said drones, and a cat ear headband connected to her goggles which acts as a transmitter for her drones. Rumor has it those ears have other functions as well, but if they do, she’s yet to share those features with the public.
Boosting the range and effectiveness of her abilities with her drones, Cheshire likes to have an overhead view of any area she’s in. Since her teleportation works via line of sight, she artificially extends this line of sight with her drones, and increases the range of locations to which she can teleport. She’s also a tinkerer and a roboticist, with all the devices she uses being either made or heavily modified by her own hand.
Right now, Cheshire’s popularity is pretty local - she’s a native of the Long Island, and people love her there - but she’s yet to make a sizable splash in the rest of the city. Though she is on a lot of radars, she’s yet to be involved in any major events that would really let her shine. She was also one of the youngest heroes in the nation when she first appeared on the scene. While usually one has to be 18 to apply for hero work, exceptions are made for rare individuals, and at 17, Tala was one of them.
Off the job, Tala isn’t as bubbly and extroverted as her hero persona would lead you to believe. She’s a quieter, nerdier, more introverted girl in her personal life. She’s always excelled academically, and would much prefer a good book or musical to having a social life and dealing with people. While she does have a couple friends from school, most of her social circle these days is dominated by fellow heroes. Still, she’d much rather stick to herself, for the most part.
Interestingly enough, despite only being in the hero game for a little over a year now, and never having taken part in any crime fighting activities, Cheshire has already managed to score herself an arch nemesis. Or, a self-proclaimed rival, at the very least. The enigmatic leader of The Circus, Rave, has decided to target Cheshire specifically with what they’ve described as ‘acts of hijinks, pranksterism, tomfoolery, and general shenaniganry’ due to what they perceive as Cheshire ‘ganking their style’.
And indeed, having two teleporters in one city - let alone two teleporters with a feline theme - is pretty suspicious. Teleporters are one of the rarest types of superhuman there is, after all. But at the same time, the Cheshire Cat is a popular character. There’s no reason two separate people couldn’t have been inspired by them.
Rave doesn’t mean any serious, permanent harm to Cheshire, but they do have a vested interest in tormenting her, just a little bit, though they have been known to help her out on occasion as well. Honestly though, the whole thing kind of weirds Tala out, and she’d really rather not talk about ‘the Rave Problem’. She’d much rather leave the handling of them and the rest of The Circus to more seasoned heroes, and much to her relief, Street Justice appears willing to work with her on that much.

Amily Garen
Tumblr media
Amily Garen is a superhero hailing from Chelsea, Manhattan, representing the hero agency Street Justice. Both alone and with her partner, Snow Angel, Amily has been steadily making a name for herself in the NYC supernatural community. More than just a hero, she is an activist, a face for the NYC LGBT community, and an advocate for superhuman and dragon rights, and has taken part in numerous protests, marches, demonstrations, and rallies throughout the city.
Though she’s fairly young, and has only been in the game for a couple years now, Amily has established quite the reputation for herself. She’s seen as one of the most promising young heroes on the scene today, and maintains a friendly relationship with most other heroes her age. Though she’s yet to tap into her full power, she is nonetheless considered to be something of a powerhouse, using her inhuman strength, speed, endurance, and electrical abilities in a variety of clever and off-the-cuff ways.
Amily is part of a growing trend of professional heroes who have foregone the idea of a secret or hero identity. She’s always been described as bold, proud, and passionate. She doesn’t seem to like hiding who she is and wears her heart and her identities on her sleeve, hoping to be an inspiration for others like her. She is an out lesbian, and has been for years, and is currently in a relationship with her hero partner, Snow Angel.
Amily is also what’s known as a halfling. Born to a human mother and a dragon father, though her father has never been a part of her life, her heritage as a half-dragon is something incredibly close and important to her. She was lucky enough to pique the interest of the King of Dragons, Sirus Albion, who assigned his former head of the Royal Guard to help raise and train Amily in her draconic ancestry and abilities.
Halflings don’t have the best rap, all things considered - they’re often targets of bullying, fear, shunning, and bigotry on all levels - but Amily has never wavered in her pride for who she is. She is known among the dragons as the ‘Blitz Dragon’ for her extreme speed and electrical abilities, while among the humans, she’s colloquially referred to as the ‘Halfling Hero’. Seeing as not many dragons or halflings end up becoming professional heroes, Amily is seen by some as a face for the entire community.
Outside of her hero work, Amily takes part in a lot of various social programs and events around the city. Last year, she led the Manhattan Pride Parade, and she works with schools promoting programs for dragons, halflings, and superhumans to better control and understand their powers. She sees what The Circus does and sees no reason sanctioned heroes can’t do the same thing, and hopes to one day move the entire hero industry in their direction.
Amily wants nothing more than to help and empower her fellow man. She fights to put a smile on people’s faces and tries whenever she can to break down borders and resolve matters peacefully via communication, or to prevent incidents from happening altogether. She relies heavily on her rivals - her friends - to help her through the toughest problems, and is to all who know her a fun, bright, and energetic young woman.
Like most heroes today, she’s on the front lines fighting off and investigating Providence. Following a warning from a veteran hero that something big was due to go down in New York, Amily has been working overtime, doing everything in her power to stop another tragedy before it happens, including helping law enforcement investigate potential Providence hideouts.

Third Wonder
Mona Lisa Cheng is the real name of the legendary hero Third Wonder, a representative of H2A and one of the most famous heroes in the world. The pride and joy of her agency, she is usually front-and-center on billboards and advertisements promoting H2A to the world, a modern myth and an icon of her generation.
Having been active for the better part of a decade now, Mona first started out as a hero at the age of 14, her abilities and the control she exercises over them making her one of the single most versatile and powerful heroes alive. Put simply, she is part of a rare class of metahuman known as mimics, people whose power is the replication of other people’s powers.
While there are many variations and subsets of power mimicry in the world, Mona's is considered to be one of the most versatile and desirable of them all and is considered by many to be the key to her success as a hero.
Basically, Mona can copy any power that she sees and has at least a general understanding of the mechanics of, regardless of whether or not it actually exists in reality or is witnessed by her in-person. Alternatively, she can copy a person's powers more perfectly by making direct, physical, skin-to-skin contact with them, her DNA adapting to their own and changing her powers to reflect theirs.
What this means is that she can copy just about anything she sees and likes, regardless of whether she saw it in a movie, or an anime, in old stock footage, or on the news - so long as she has seen the power in action and has an understanding of its mechanics, she can recreate it for her own use.
However, that isn't to say she's without any limitations. For example, while she can store multiple abilities at once, she can't carry any more than 3 at any given time - thus her hero name, Third Wonder. Furthermore, she can't use any of these 3 powers simultaneously or combine them together into something new, she has to use them one at a time, individually, or otherwise not at all. If she wants a new power, she'll have to sacrifice one of the three she currently has.
While she can control what powers she mimics by sight, however, what she copies via touch appears to be out of her control, meaning she normally has to wear gloves and avoid physical contact when on the job to avoid picking up a less-than-ideal ability. It also doesn't seem to matter whether she's the one initiating contact or somebody else - if they have a power and their skin touches hers, she will copy it.
This makes her power exceptionally versatile, but not completely overpowering - she still has limits and she still has to be mindful of what she's doing, and she often tries to plan ahead so that she's always loaded up with the best abilities for any given situation. As a result, she likes to do her research before jumping into battle, and she likes to try and stay up-to-date on the criminals and powered people in her city in her off time.
As a person, Mona is just your average 20 something. You wouldn't guess from looking at her that she's one of the most powerful people on planet Earth, but then, that's kind of what she wants. She gets enough fame and recognition in-costume, she'd really much rather lead a quiet life free of all the press and drama. So, she doesn't make that much of a splash.
She went to university, graduated, got a nice, quiet job at a publishing company, and lives in a moderately sized apartment in the city. She makes more money than she knows what to do with from brand deals, sponsorships and H2A, but she mostly just keeps it all in her bank account and tries not to live beyond her means. Or... beyond a normal 20 something's means, anyway. She doesn't want to draw attention to herself. She gets enough of that elsewhere.
As a hero, meanwhile, Mona is strong and seasoned, confident and always in-control. Many heroes young and old look up to her and trust her judgment, and she's proven herself time and again to be one of the most knowledgeable and clever in the game, outsmarting criminals and averting disasters like nobody's business. She is by all accounts a pro, a hero, an icon. She is what many heroes, like Amily Garen, one day strive to be.
This isn't to say she's without her flaws, however - she isn't the most seasoned hero socially speaking, and is actually kind of awkward, though she comes off as cool and aloof in-costume. She also has a tendency to get caught in her head and think more than she acts, or sometimes ends up not properly explaining what she's thinking to those around her. Sometimes, they just have to play follow the leader while she mutters pieces of plans and does her thing.
In her personal life, she was fine with living alone until fairly recently, having in the past 6 months acquired a boyfriend she has since had move in with her - a dragon by the name of Kal. While he is aware of her dual identity and hero work, he has no interest in doing the same, preferring his quiet life with Mona to a life in the spotlight next to Third Wonder. He loves both sides of who she is, however.
While many have wanted to try and artificially create powers in non-powered humans, few powers have been as sought after as Mona's, and given its versatility, it is often used as a base that many a scientific sort has tried to replicate for themselves. However, it is currently believed to be impossible for ordinary people to be given powers artificially, and attempts to replicate other abilities in those who already have them - particularly hers - have always ended up in failure, leading many to believe it's just not possible.
Still, this hasn't stopped people from trying, much to Mona's chagrin. There's always somebody who wants to try something, to get a sample of her DNA and see if they can't unlock the secrets of the metahumans from her ceaselessly adaptable genetic makeup. But while most of these instances just serve to piss her off, one man came to her fairly recently that gave her pause. His name was Stanley Lewis.
World renowned as the son of First Hero Dr. Stan Lewis, Stanley's gift of Super Intelligence and his father's work in mapping the metahuman genome are both well-known. When he came to her to ask her if she'd be willing to help him change the world, and he told her about his plan to artificially recreate her power in a biomechanical AI that would one day remove the need for actual people to put themselves in harm's way in heroics and law enforcement, she had to wonder if maybe it wouldn't actually be possible.
Agreeing with his vision, she decided to take him up on his offer, thinking that if anybody could manage to artificially recreate her abilities in another, it would be him, giving him a sample of her DNA to work with and becoming an official part of his so-called HERO project.

Skymancer
Elena Hollister, better known by the hero names Flightpath and, most recently, Skymancer, is a second generation hero and the daughter of the Golden Age hero, The Crimson Comet.
Representing the hero organization Street Justice alongside such big names as Amily Garen and Cheshire, while some may expect a degree of entitlement or superiority from her as the daughter of a living legend, Elena is actually really quite modest, and quiet, and would prefer to prove herself as an individual independent of her legacy.
To this end, she has spent a good deal of her career carving out her own particular niche in the world of professional heroism, and has changed names and updated costumes here and there to reflect this.
For most of her career, Elena was known best as Flightpath, a hero with superhuman strength and durability who was also capable of achieving supersonic speeds when in flight without suffering any of the negative effects one would expect from the stress such speed would place upon her body. She first made a name for herself in Search & Rescue and Accident & Disaster Response, with two of her earliest successes being the saving of 7 civilians during a fire atop a high rise that nobody else could get to, and locating and rescuing the 27 survivors of a terrible plane crash back in 2013.
For many years, this was the niche Elena was most comfortable with filling. It wasn't that she didn't know how to fight or that she had no interest in that side of the job - to the contrary, with her enhanced strength and aerial mobility, she'd developed a unique fighting style all her own, and has taken part in a large number of team-ups over the years. But, she’s always felt more comfortable in a more... supportive role.
She wasn't a natural leader like her father was, and she didn't much like being in the spotlight - unlike some other heroes in her agency, she has always been remarkably quiet. But what she lacks in natural charisma, she makes up for in unwavering dedication, and she has always been considered to be one of the most solid and reliable heroes in the city as a result.
She was never that big, but she never wanted to be that big. But she wasn't so small that nobody had heard of her, either.
She was in a comfortable place.
And then Providence happened.
She found their morals to be twisted, and their existence, reprehensible, and after their attack on her city, Elena felt unusually inspired to take a more active role in things and to put a good deal of personal effort toward eradicating the terrorist organization once and for all.
Devoting herself to her training, she updated her suit to better serve her new, all-purpose role with some combat modifications, and improved her fighting style, changing brands from Flightpath to Skymancer in order to reflect this new chapter in her career.
While the transition has been a little bumpy in as far as the press is concerned, Elena is confident in this new direction, and is determined to bring an end to Providence once and for all, before they hurt somebody else while espousing their twisted ideas of 'justice'.
As a veteran hero, Elena has worked with many different heroes over the years, but none more than any others. She goes wherever she is needed and lends a hand to anybody who asks, and has always been considered to be one of the most reliable in the business, providing her seasoned support whenever and wherever it's needed.
However, since she is a part of Street Justice and predates its current 'faces' of Amily and Cheshire, she has a particularly close relationship with those who share her agency and has acted as an occasional mentor to the likes of Flameforge and Snow Angel in the past.
While she isn't always fond of talking about her father's exploits - as she hates feeling as though she is being compared to him - she will nevertheless share what stories she knows with any young kids and heroes who may be interested in hearing, telling them all about the Crimson Comet's many feats and the unique challenges of growing up in a household where everybody has powers and your dad is a legendary hero.
Strong, seasoned, and in a league all her own, whether she's Flightpath, Skymancer, or simply just Elena Hollister, you can always count on Elena for a job well done.

Cheshire
Lauren Mito is a young hero better known by the hero name Cheshire who represents the hero organization Street Justice alongside the likes of Amily Garen and Snow Angel as one of its best and brightest rising stars.
Though she is relatively new to the game, having only been heroing professionally for a little over a year now, she has very quickly earned herself a place at the top with the clever application of her teleportation abilities, her technological expertise, and her overflowing charisma in-costume and in interviews. A natural leader, she tends to take charge of any situation she happens to find herself in, quickly getting on top of things and organizing others in the most efficient ways possible to see that justice is done or those who are in danger are saved.
Part of her popularity stems from her all-around nature as a hero, as she excels in Search & Rescue as well as the more traditional crime fighting aspects of the job, and she has no trouble being in the public eye and representing her organization to the city (and the world), but her simple and iconic outfit and bubbly personality are also not to be underestimated as major factors contributing to her success as a young hero.
Theming herself around the Cheshire Cat, her hero outfit is as plain as it is recognizable, comprised primarily of a bandana worn around her face with the image of the Cheshire Cat's smile, a pair of technologically enhanced goggles synched up to drones of her own design, a backpack she always carries made specifically for said drones (of which she has 4), and a cat ear headband connected to her goggles that acts as a transmitter for her drones (and which may or may not have some other features she isn't so keen on making public for the purposes of 'keeping an element of surprise').
Boosting the range and effectiveness of her abilities with her drones, she is considered to be one of today’s more versatile heroes. She’s able to adapt just about any situation and is especially well-suited to technological foes and predicaments seeing as she herself uses a great deal of tech to assist her on the job, a lot of it being either of her own design or otherwise specially modified by her for ease of use and better coordination with the rest of her toys.
She most commonly works with fellow Street Justice representatives Amily Garen, Snow Angel, Flameforge and Flightpath, but has also been known to team up with Cryptid's Kid Cthulhu and H2A's Cadence and Third Wonder on occasion, as well as the nomadic hero Wolfsbaine, her popularity seeing her fairly active across the tri-state area and in conjunction with a number of different agencies.
She’s still fairly young, all things considered, joining Street Justice at the age of 16, though she claimed on her admittance forms that she was actually 17. She fudged the dates by a couple months for basically no reason, since the organization is willing to take people as young as 14 under special circumstances, but that's neither here nor there.
While she is fairly bubbly and leaderly in-costume, however, in her day-to-day life, Lauren is quite a different person. While she has always excelled academically, she isn't exactly as extroverted as her Cheshire persona may lead one to believe, and would honestly much rather spend time with a good book than, you know, dealing with people. She's made plenty of friends on the job, however, whom she hangs with whenever she can, but, she'd still rather stick to herself for the most part.
Interestingly enough, despite only being in the hero game for a little over a year, Lauren has nevertheless already managed to score herself an arch nemesis... or, at the very least, a self-proclaimed rival. The enigmatic leader of the "criminal organization" The Circus, a masked individual known only as 'Rave', has decided to target Cheshire specifically with 'unprecedented acts of hijinks, pranksterism, tomfoolery, and general shenaniganry' due to what they perceive as a 'ganking of style'.
As it happens, Rave, too, is a teleporter whose costume is themed around cats, and while they are very, very different temperamentally and even in their overall aesthetics, Rave has nevertheless taken a keen interest in there being somebody else out there with such similar abilities and theming sensibilities to them. They don't mean to do any (serious, permanent) harm, but they do wanna torment Lauren, just a little bit, just for shits and giggles. So, they do. They also help Lauren do their job sometimes, though.
It honestly kind of weirds Lauren out and she'd rather not talk about 'The Rave Problem'. She’d much rather leave the whole 'dealing with The Circus' thing to Amily and the others, and much to her relief, Street Justice is willing to work with her on that much.

Kid Cthulhu
Andy Fletcher is a young hero best known by the moniker of Kid Cthluhu, representing the smaller hero organization Cryptid as perhaps its most famous hero.
A bit of a recluse and more than a little odd, Andy always looks pretty tired and has a rather dark, sickly sense of humor. He's a sweet guy beneath it all, but you'd be forgiven for finding him a little strange and uncomfortable to be around, because he honestly kind of is. He doesn't mind that, though. He doesn't mind a lot of things.
Fittingly, his powers are also pretty odd, being that he is capable of manipulating dark energy for the purposes of conjuring portals and sending people and objects to and from pocket dimensions, presumably of his own design. On top of this, he can conjure tentacles, tendrils and limbs made up of the selfsame dark energy as his portals for the purposes of utility, attack and defense, and it is from this 'summoning' of tentacles and otherworldly 'creatures' of energy from portals that he earned his name.
Those he sends for a trip through his pocket dimensions usually end up coming out of the experience pretty shaken (unless he happens to be traveling with them or otherwise likes them), with many dangerous criminals neutralized with a single portal just by sending them on a brief unsupervised tour of "Andyland". The poor souls tend to come back in a state of shock, unable to relay the exact nature of what it was they saw or experienced, while Andy just looks on with a small knowing grin from the sidelines.
Some have gone so far as to wonder whether Andy is actually human or not, as his powers are almost entirely without precedent and the state of those he sends to "Andyland" indicates there may be more to his abilities than meets the eye (or than he lets on), but this is mostly written off as nonsense rumors and conjecture and just part of his image and mystique as a hero representing a famously strange and mysterious organization like Cryptid.
While small, Cryptid has nevertheless begun making a name for itself with its collection of strange, somewhat dark heroes like Kid Cthulhu, The Other Moth Man, The Jersey Devil and Good Old Greg, and though he appears to be pretty young, Andy seems to be the best and brightest of the whole bunch.
He most frequently works with other members of Cryptid - most notably The Jersey Devil and The Other Moth Man - but has also been known, on occasion, to work alongside more mainstream heroes, such as the likes of Street Justice's Cheshire or H2A's Cadence and Third Wonder, and he seems to be fairly close to Amily Garen and others from her immediate friend group.
It's unclear how far back the two of them actually go, or if they even go back at all seeing as Snow Angel has been quoted in the past as describing it as "He kind of just showed up one day", but they seem to be pretty chummy now - or at least, as chummy as somebody as odd as Andy Fletcher is capable of being.
Though his off-kilter jokes and esoteric ideas might not make a lot of sense to most people, they're all part of what makes Andy, well, Andy, and it's all considered to be part of the greater Kid Cthulhu experience.
As Cryptid bills it, “He’s a strange hero for strange times”.

Amily Garen
Tumblr media
Born to a superhuman mother and a dragon father, Amily Garen is a 22-year-old hero of national renown. While hybrids such as herself were once considered to be rare, in the time since the War, people like her have steadily become more and more commonplace. With all the power of a dragon condensed into the body of a human, complete with partial transformations into a semi-draconic form, Amily is to all who know her a force of nature.
She is an open lesbian and an advocate for LGBTQ+ issues in the world today, using her platform as her hero association's number one hero to give the community a louder voice. She's as involved in social issues as she is in hero ones, and is known to be passionate and outspoken about anything that interests her. She's surprisingly well-read and well-rounded as an individual, but has never wanted anything more than to be a superhero, like her childhood idols.
Enrolling in the hero association Street Justice as soon as she legally could at the age of 18, she has since made a name for herself in the hero community as one of its most promising rising stars. Friendly and outgoing, she knows just about everybody in the scene in her home city of New York, and has taken on at least two other heroes - her partner, Snow Angel, and a special case in the youngest active hero, Flameforge - under her wing in her 4 years of activity.
Snow Angel is special, however, in that she is Amily's partner both on and off the job. Her girlfriend of 5 years and a childhood friend, Riley McKenna is Amily's world. The daughter of two doctors, Riley only got in the game at first out of concern for Amily, but soon found it was something she liked to do for her own sake, as well. She now moonlights as a hero under the guise of Snow Angel, Amily's partner in crimefighting, though her true passion is her band, 'Chelsea Says'. Amily, of course, is their number one fan.
Though you wouldn't tell it at first glance, Amily is actually a very curious, studious person, and enjoys reading more than just about anything else (other than superheroism). To find Amily in her off-time without a book in her hand or a friend by her side is a rare sight. Still, she'd rather come off as a fun-loving heroine than a nerdy bookworm, creating a little distance between the Amily that the world sees and the Amily that her friends and family get to see - the closest thing she has to a 'secret identity', since she chooses to use her real name as a hero.
As a hero, she is seen as being very intuitive and adaptable, capable of changing direction on the fly and learning as she goes. A useful trait, considering she is almost constantly overestimating her own abilities and getting herself in trouble. Because of this, you almost never see Amily without some sort of bandaged up wound somewhere on her body. She is well-known for being a risk-taker.
As a person, she has an interest in all things ghoulish and creepy - a trait she shares with Riley - and she is fascinated by the stars and planets, both astronomically and astrologically. She is what she refers to as a "self-taught, semi-professional hack" in both fields. She loves nature and regularly travels to take hikes in the Catskills, and maintains an exceptionally busy schedule that would crush most people. But for Amily, who doesn't like not having something to do, she wouldn't have it any other way.
She’s exuberant and sociable and doesn’t always have the largest attention span, but she does care a lot for other people. And while she respects her elders and her teachers greatly, and more than believes that she would be nothing without those who came before her and helped raise her, there is nothing anybody can do or say that can sway her once she's made up her mind on something. She will stubbornly take her own path and do things her way any chance she gets.
While hybrids such as herself tended to be magical powerhouses, Amily is an exception.
Though she has the ability to generate and command Lightning, magic has always eluded her, so instead she has learned to empower herself physically with her abilities. She can cling to and walk on walls, generate powerful electromagnetic pulses, surround herself with an electrical aura, boost her speed and reaction time, and gradually build up a static charge through movement that she can unleash in either controlled bursts or all at once with her attacks.
She is a proud hero, a proud half-dragon, and a proud member of her community. There is nothing, in Amily's mind, she cannot do, and nobody she will not lend a hand to help.
