For the past 14 years, the Golden Crown Literary Society has hosted “The Goldies”, literary awards for lesbian literature in sixteen genres and five special categories. Winners will be announced on July 7th at the awards ceremony in Las Vegas. I’m excited to see so many novels that I’ve enjoyed (as well many more piled atop my TBR shelf) over the past year appear as finalists.

4 Marzo

Hoy era el mejor día. Estaba caminando con las chicas del campo a la oficina y me sentí un sentimiento más profundo que tranquilidad. Era felicidad pero un tipo que no me he sentido mucho.

Bueno, voy a contarse sobre qué pasó antes de este momento:

Yo fuí a mi clase como ordinario. Noel me dejó y llegué a las 8am. Arleen y yo nos contamos como fue nuestros fines de semana. Entonces, empezamos con la condicional - por ejemplo - yo pensé que tú vendrías a la fiesta. ¿Porque no veniste?

A las 9:15 me dí cuenta que debería haber estado en la oficina de Fútbol sin Fronteras. Cesar, me pidió a venir para introducirme a las otras entrenadoras. Entonces, Arleen vinió conmigo y caminamos por Calle Santa Lucía. Cuando llegamos, Erik (se pronuncia como Erreek), nos saludó y me envitó arriba para unirme a su reunión.

Estaban en una reunión para discutir el estado de sus equipos, sus ligad, la organización, una campaña de capital, y varios negocios. Yo les eschuché y compartí una idea sobre la campaña - les pregunté si ya tenían una carta por las chicas (en vez de las entrenadoras) con una foto.

Era muy interesante a ver su reunión y me disfruté mucho. Antes de salir, Erik me invitió a participar con la práctica del equipo más mayor. “Me lo gustaría mucho!”

Arleen y yo regresamos al Choco Museo y continuamos con la condicional. Después de la clase, caminé con Ashley y compartimos sobre nuestros fines de semana. Ella tuvo una noche extraña en la casa de los parientes de su host family. Y ella iba a volver a esa casa hoy para teñir su pelo rojo. Quería llevar un regalito entonces fuimos a una panadería que ya conoció. Yo la había visto pero nunca antes había entrado. Era muy cariñosa ya tenía postres y pasteles. Yo mandé unos postres para compartir con Lorena y Noel - un brownie y un que ella me dijo pareció como dulce de leche. Le dije ciao a Ashley y fuí a la casa.

Lorena había cocinado un almuerzo ricisimo de pescado con verduras: zanahoria, chilote (those mini corn things), y calabaza. Después, salté en la piscina, y fuí al campo.

Esta equipo son el más mayor. Mitad son las entrenadoras y las otras jugadoras son amigas de ellas. Cesar y Erik son los entrenadores. Bueno, primero, no estaba seguro en que modo yo debía participar. Pues, me paré y miré y escuché. Cuando corrieron, me las uní. Y cuando empezaron a jugar yo regresé a parar, mirar, y escuchar. Son jugadaoras buenas, fuertes y inteligentes.

Después de 10 minutos, una chica salió el partido porque no se sentía buena y me invitó a jugar. Estaba muy emocionado! Jugé como un entrenador - corrí fuerte y intenté a pasar a todas las chicas. Nunca tiré pero sí hice unos suaves pases a través...

Mi casa está en otra dirección pero quería unirse las chicas mientras caminaban por la oficina. Ellas estaban lleno de chistos y bromas y me pareció que conocían toda la gente en Granada. Tal ves, la hora era un poco mágico, el sol estaba poniendo, la gente estaban en la calle, y cada cosa parecía bien. Yo era muy contento.

Y cuando estaba caminando de la oficina a la cada, yo ví una clase de bachata. El hombre estaba conduciendo unas mujeres. Me pareció como un class de ejercicio. ¡Que alegre!
