Where Did You Go?

❀ synopsis; little(gn)!reader runs away from the castle to get some space and clear their mind of some bad thoughts but papa swoops in worried about his bunny and saves the day.

❀ a/n; hi guys! sorry i haven’t posted in some time i’ve been really busy with mid terms and finals. i cannot guarantee that i will post more frequently but i will try to at least get some stuff out when i can. so please please be patient with me and send in requests. I would like to hear what you guys want.

You never meant to scare anyone, you just had to leave. being around so many people was scary and overwhelming. the shouting and laughing quickly became too much too fast.

the further you got from the rowdiness of belmont, sypha, alucard, greta and village’s people, and all the lovely children you felt breath return to your lungs.

eventually you had gotten far enough away that you no longer heard them. only distant water flowing and the songs of nearby birds. soon settling into a familiar spot that you and your papa frequented your head was clear and heart slow.

As you laid on your stomach in the middle of clearing deep into the forest a breeze blew that carried distant calls of your name. being as deep into little space as you were you didn’t pay much attention to it. as you were far too busy watching the way your cat, Lucy, chased after a butterfly that danced above scattering flowers. absent-mindedly allowing the pretty colors that surrounded you and a babbling brook in the near distance to cox you into a light slumber.

“baby, baby come on wake up,” the soft voice and gentle touch of alucard interrupted the sweet slumber that had taken over. groggily you sat up rubbing your eyes. as the blurriness of sleep left your eyes you could make out the shape of who the voice was coming from.

“hi papa, what’re you doin’ here?” you inquired in a sleepy voice. you reached up to play with his blond hair that was softly blowing in the wind. alucard’s beauty never failed to amaze you.

“i could ask you the same thing baby, why are you all the way out here all by yourself, huh?” he refuted in a soft tone full of lighthearted remarks and a hint of worry.

“too much, papa, had to leave.” This happened often. the thoughts of everything seemed to weigh on you. paired with being surrounded by loud noises was nothing more that a ticking time bomb. so you went to the one place where the sound of nothing always to seemed to drown out the thoughts of everything.

“ why didn’t you tell me, you know how worried i get when i don’t know where you are.” papa was always very protective of you. he constantly had an eye on you or had greta and sypha watch over you as they were the only other people he trusted to keep you safe. trevor is honorable mentions but the man is well trevor.

“i’m sorry papa i just didn’t want to interrupt you, looked like you were having lotta fun” suddenly feeing the weight of your actions and guilt fill up your chest. you never meant to scare him it’s just that the thoughts get to be a bit much sometimes and being around people never helps.

“i know you didn’t bunny, i just didn’t know where you were. scared me to think about how my baby could possibly be hurt and alone.”

“but look papa i’m all good not hurt promise, i’m okay, see?” you stated as you spun around adamant on showing him your lack of bumps and bruises. aside from the dirt and twigs in your hair from laying on the forest ground you were fine. you were well aware of the places alucard’s mine went and you were determined to quiet those horrid thoughts.

“ i see that bunny,” he spoke with a sigh, “and i’m glad but next time what are we gonna do if our thoughts get too loud.” he was right. he always was and you knew you were wrong for walking off without telling anyone.

as you shifted your shame filled gaze to the grass that suddenly had far more interesting qualities. “tell papa,” you replied in a hushed tone.

“that’s right because then i can help ease the burden a little. now how about we just stay here for a little bit longer and cuddle huh,” alucard spoke slipping a finger under your chin to raise your gaze to meet his eyes.

“with lucy?” you inquired.

“yes bunny, with lucy. now let’s go and find her then we can get all nice and comfy by the bank okay.”

as you began your search for lucy most of it was spent listening to small facts that alucard knew of the local wildlife. from plants to animals and even the occasional quartz. his almost infinite knowledge of things never failed to mesmerize you.

after you found lucy, alucard reached down to pick her up and continue your trek closer to the bank. where you later dozed off to the sound a of the babbling brook and the rise and fall of your papa’s breaths. all of this paired with the long afternoon you’d had brought a peaceful slumber safe in alucard’s arms with the soft comfort of your kitty.
